This is the only video on UA-cam that clearly shows how to use it correctly without a whole bunch of useless garbage talk🙏🏽 thank you!
that's what I'm saying lol how every video should be lol
Finally a solid easy how to. Thanks. Got tired of paying for Traxxas but love the charger
Yup love the combo of the traxxas charger with the cost of other batteries! FTW
The best quick video with no BS. So direct and to the point! Thanks!
Perfect. Worked. I ordered some aftermarket Hoovo 3 cell batteries for Traxxas. Those balance covers. Once I plugged those in. Charging perfectly. Thank you and right to the point!!
Not a problem at all!
Thanks a LOT now I can charge my gens ace pack. I’m so glad I saw this simple and clear vidoe that gets me out of my panic about buying a new charger 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you. 🤩
Quick to the point and direct. Thank you for not having an 11minute video with 7 minutes of not on topic everything.
Also that weird noise means your cooling fan has a bad bearing.
I couldn’t figure out how to charge my battery this helped!
Thanks for a quick and to the point video on how this works.
Mine makes that noise on startup aswell. I found blowing into an upper port helps the fan spin normal quicker.
Nice, clear, straightforward! Big thumbs up and a sub!
I have been trying to do this. Thanks!!
Glad I could help! I made this video for you!
seems pretty easy. thank you. I love that HRB makes the trx for these for people who don't wanna pay 40 bucks for some guy to do an easy solder job when they don't have a bench to solder.
I like to work on rc cars so idk why some people give their life savings to some guy at the hobby shop
@@rctrucks2094 I just don’t have a good place to solder at, I fix my cars on my floor, the HRB battery are nice because why worry about soldering when I can just buy a battery with the right connector
Thank you for showing us that. I am using my Traxxas charger to charge one of my other trucks and it was not working till I watch your video I appreciate it
Been going nuts trying to figure this out, thank you!
Happy to help!
Best video ever!! This is awesome DIDNT think my thing was gonna charge
Can you do this with an adapter on the battery? I assume you can, but I want to make sure, cause I’m gonna be using it with a battery that has an IC5 connector
So glad I seen this video!!!! Traxxas batteries took a crap and I have Powerhobby batteries already, but no charger for them. Saved me some money$
Thanks man! I just got a Power hobby 3s lipo for my traxxas and it wouldn’t let me charge it. This tutorial worked amazing!
Helped me, I was worried for a second tbh. The dual button hold 👐🏻
best to the point video!!!! needed this today.
Thanks!! FYI, that noise is your fan wobbling due to bad fan bearings. I have heard that many times lol.
THANK YOU MAN!!!!!!! 💪🏽 to the point, no BS!!!
Thanks for the video. Quick question. How did you get the Traxxas connector on the battery? Can one use a Traxxas plug adapter for a non Traxxas battery? Are the NIMH batteries supposed to be put in Storage mode as well? Thanks in advance for your time, reply, and this video.
I always charge my lipo batteries in storage charge after I use them. I still use these same batteries to this day.
The connectors came on the batteries from amazon
@@GReviewz It’s rather unusual for a third party Lipo battery to come with a Traxxas connector. The connectors must not have the Traxxas smart chip in them because only Traxxas batteries have that technology with the integrated connectors. 😏🧐😎
Thank God he made you I was about to return it until I saw this video thanks.
have you tried cleaning your fan thats inside your charger plus?
Thanks for the video man. And a huge thanks for making it to the point. Got my batteries charging rn 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Do you need to connect the balance part to anything in the rc car ? Or does that connection stay loose during use ?
Hey can you explain about the 4A 3A things!? Is it like the percentage of the charge like 4A means fully charged and 1A means low?
So I am new to the RC world and know nothing about charging batteries like this, I bought a Traxxas Maxx and the ez-peak live dual Traxxas charger which is fine if I'm using Traxxas batteries obviously but I bought some yowoo 4S 6500 milliamp graphene batteries it tells me I need to check the charge on it first before I charge it so my question is how do I test these batteries first and then charge them so I don't blow myself up LOL?
If you take the charger apart and take the fan out you can peal a sticker up and there is a bushing on it so you oil it and then its fixed and wont make that noise
Haha. Thank you very much. I assume you've had that issue as well? So it's just the bearing in the cooling fan?
@@GReviewz yes you take the bottom screws out of the charger and the fan is held in my a groove so u can just pull it up and there is a sticker on the middle of the fan so you peal it up and put a little bit of oil in it and then push the sticker back down and put it back together. It only takes like 5 min
Wow even the instructions dident show this. Thanks man
How do you know what amp to charge your battery at? My battery is 6200MAH 70C
Thank you very much, got that charger with a new car and iam pretty happy i can charge all my old batterys with it
When u got the hrb batteries... How did u go about balancing all the cells prior to charging w ur Traxxas charger? Will the "balance" on the Traxxas charger provide for that on a brand new hrb??
Hey thanks Just one question does it beep when its done chsrging?
No it doesn't.
Will this charge a Zeee 3600 nimh with Tamiya connector if I use a Traxxas adapter on it? Thank you!
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! BEST VIDEO
Glad it helped!
Holy Christ I have this running with a velinein brushless motor in my bandit let me clue ya it litterly rips!!!
Helpful and to the point!
Thank you. I appreciciate the comment.
Thanks so much, just purchased my first 3rd party 3cell Lipo for 1/3 the price of traxxas equivalent.
The odd sound is the fan if you turn the charger on to its right side and tap on the fan with your finger it will quit the fan just gets out of balance due to dust or debris Through Time sometimes if you blow the fan out with a can of compressed air it will clear it up also
Does it auto stop? I just got a non-id and started charging but unsure if it will stop or if I need to stop it manually
Followed the instructions and I get a momentarily charging than I get 1a and 4a flashing. Any suggestions?
Did you replace battery connector? If so where did you get the plug?
thank you in 1:30 I managed to get it plugged in thank you very practical your video
Awesome! Thank you for your comment
Thanks that was so helpful!!!😃
Glad it was helpful!
How do you do it with a dual ez-peak charger? The buttons on it are different
My quesrion is i ahve the traxxas dual charger. It doesnt have the charge select button. So what do i press along side start/stop button?
Followed this instructions. Dual EZ Traxxas charger does not charge 4500 mah 60c , 11.1 v batteries . Charger will not sync while depressing both buttons at same time
Thank you! Saved 👍
Again Nope I have the same batteries minus they are 5000mAh and 50C but don't think that problem and charger does same blinking it starts with. Could these be fully charged upon getting them from seller? I am guessing as I have really only used Traxxas batteries.
So if you select the store light I am guessing that is for storing your battery long term?
Correct.
Yo this helped me a lot I just got a traxxas slash for Christmas and I just bought that battery so I was wonder how I would charge it and your video helped a lot. I also have one question with the balance lead do I need to plug that into my slash anywhere specific or do I just leave the balance lead dangle while I’m riding around?
No you leave the balance plug out. No where to plug it in
Hey did you have to use an adapter to use this charger on your slash ?
Thank you so much for making this video. I couldn’t find anything online on how to actually get the non id chargers to actually start charging. And I’m serious when I say that I literally could not find A SINGLE tidbit online about this specific thing. Again, thanks a million- I thought maybe my battery was bad. But no, it’s just stupid button pressing
Not a problem. Thank you for commenting
ok so i did what you said. Now I have finished driving my car and want to store the battery. Do I have to do this process again for the charger to recognise my non traxxas batteries or are the settings stored on the charger so I don't have to keep doing the 2 button down thing all the time?
Thanks! BRAZIL SAVED!!
Late to this video, based on the age of these comments, but is it safe to charge 2 cell, 7200mah lipo batteries on the 4a setting? So many videos about this just say to take the 1st # in the milliamp and use that? I’m new and don’t want to screw this up. Thx
How long does it take to charge these batteries? Do they take longer than the ID batteries and if so how long do they take to charge and do you know if it can fit in my 1/16 Traxxas E-Revo
It should take the same amount of time (assuming the MAh of the battery and the charge rate is the same)
Quality vid, to the point, well done, thank you!
Thank you great video
Glad you enjoyed it
After I do that if I try to charge a normal traxxas battery will there be any problems?
No problems at all. The charger resets after you unplug it.
@@GReviewzthank you so much!! Very helpful
So is it normal that the start button doesn't light up when using non Traxxas lipos? Thanks
Can you charge batteries that have EC3, EC5 or other connectors? I plan on switching to non traxxas batteries and connectors. I dislike the whole "ID" battery balance garbage. Thank you
Genius 😊 thanks!!!
Will it off automatically same as traxxas batteries?
So annoying with traxxas batteries, used for a year. x3 3s original traxxas batteries became like a balloon shape.. one died... afraid to use it anymore. Bought hbrs
Thank you my friend! 🤓✌️
I was more curious on the storage mode. I have both 2s and 3s lipos (non traxxas batteries) does the storage mode support non traxxas batteries or storage mode remains the same stats for all batteries across brands and cell number? New to the hobby
Idk
Hey that noise is just the fan on the side that needs to be lubed just open up the charger and the fan has a little sticker over the lube point…I used wd40 worked like a charm!
Hey Question, This charger comes with a wall plug right??
What about storage charging? I have a HRB battery, but I’m curious if the Traxxas charger can also discharge it to storage mode.
I'm wondering that too
Yeah it can
thanks but the problem is when I plug in my lipo the lights continue going up and not down
Same here. Did you figure it out? as im having the same problem
Even though you selected 4A charge rate it switches to 1A when you started charging. Is it still charging at 4A?
My understanding is, it still charges at 4amps. Could be wrong
Yo thanks so much I couldn't figure this out
Not a problem! Thanks for commenting!
Thanks works great
Can I use a adapter for the trx connector?
Okay so do the red lights go up as it charges like a traxxas batteries?
Yes, the red lights go up when you charge the batteries.
Hi man mine use to work when I did this but out of nowhere it started to blink at 4a when I try it now any advice
I didn't know about the start button, got it used thought it was not working LOL.
Does it still make the sound when non traxxas batteries
Never mind it dose make the sound
What amp rate would you charge a 2200 2s HRB battery on a traxxas ez peak plus charger?
I’m wondering the same thing. How do you know?
Late reply, but typically you will charge at 1A per 1000mah. So if you have a battery that is a 4000mah, you will charge at 4A. If you have one that is 800, you’ll charge at 1A. If you have one that is 2500, you’ll charge at 2A. Hope this helps!
@@kennyhenderson2791 thank you even if it was a late reply 👍
Awesome informative video dude! I've got a few lipos that are 5200 and one that's 6500. Will that charger go up to 5a and 6a?
thank you for this.
My lipo is fully plugged in but the light is going up and hasn’t changed! What do I do?
I'm having the same problem 😕
Did you figure it out?
Does it give you the fully charged sound like the traxxas id batteries do at the end of the charging cycle?
I dont get a sound even with the traxxas batteries.
I get a sound
@@GReviewz i get sound
Was just looking for this answer
if i have a deans plug battery can i put a trx to deans adapter on it then plug it in to charge?
Is it the same on a ez-peak live charger ?? It doesn’t have charge rate select
Same question
Will the charger automatically shut off when the charge is done?
Yes ofcourse
Does any know how to charge a Walkera Rodeo F150 battery with this traxxas charger? It has the white charging port, but an EC2 connector instead of the black TRX connector in the video.
I don't have the balance ports on my charger 😬 can I still use this method?
no balance ports, no lipo batteries.
Can this charger handle more than a 4000 mah battery? Can it charge both non-Traxxas and Traxxas ID batteries more than 4000 mah or am I stuck there with this charger?
thanks for the info but I just can't get the charging to work, I have brand new HRb batteries and I just can't charge them? I'm even thinking about buying another charger just to see if it will work.
Dang
I have a Traxxas charger daul charger does that work for that to
Yes it would work for that as well
For some reason when I plug my gens ace battery in, my charger doesn’t do the LED blinking up and down it only goes up and the trick doesn’t work. Is there anything I’m doing wrong?
Did you plug in the balance connector?
@@GReviewz yeah. I ended up taking it back to my hobby store with my charger. Tested out several things. Watched the video several times to make sure we were doing it right. We were eventually able to get it to start but as soon as you hit start charging it would shut off and go back to the blinking lights.
Grabbed another battery and tried it too, same issue. Plugged the batteries into their non Traxxas charger and they both were fine. Ended up just trading in for a Traxxas shorty battery. One of the other employees said with their Traxxas charger it’s been 50/50 on whether or not it charges a non Traxxas battery
Can I do this with a dual charger ?
Will it charge 5000 and up batteries?
How do I know when it’s fully charged
Uggggh! Please help. My HRB 7000mah 7.4 v won't charge. Same set up as here. I get 2 blinking red lights after the start button is pressed. This is the second battery attempted too. Charger is the SAME.. IDK
So yeah all my non traxxas batteries give the 1A 4A light error, they'll only charge on fast, won't charge on balance or store. Brand new batteries too
Strange.. the hrb packs work fine on balance ans store
Thank you so simple 🤙
No problem 👍
According to the directions. TRAXXAS batteries the light will stay SOLID GREEN when the charge cycle is completed
I have a battery that doesn’t have the Trx connector what do i do
How do I know what amp hour to set mine too? I bought a hrb 6000mah 50c.
I learned from other people and that's just what I set mine at.
