You know people make fun of the blobby buicks of the 2000's. But when you can get a reliable, comfy, 6 seater for $500 to $1500? Come on. What a deal! Ive always wanted one of these as a nice get around car. Great purchase AL! Keep up the good content.
They're great road trip cars too. I drove an 01 Park Ave from NY to Utah years ago. Very comfortable and got nearly 30 MPG. If I'm spending two days driving, I want it comfortable, I don't care how fast it gets to 60 lol
They get to 60 just fine . I have a 2003 Buick lesabre that I bought for $800 2 years ago . Had 72,000 miles on it then . Has 94,000 on it now still runs like a dream . All I’ve done is put a fuel line on it and a brake line . They are great cars . Never had a car drive through the snow as good as one of these either only being fwd . Mine leaks oil onto the exhaust tho . Hasent caught fire yet
@@chanceberg9570 sadly mine got sent to scrap a few months ago after a front shock tower rusted out . Had 138,000 miles on it . I got a good 45-50,000 miles out of that car for $800 so I’m not complaining
Good to hear about the Buick! I just bought an 2003 from my friends mom. She's in her 90's. The car has 39,000 miles, garaged and never driven in the snow. I'm delighted!
These Buicks with the 3800 motor are very very reliable.
My dad has a 2004 lesabre custom it has over 225k on it and still runs and drives. Durable gm land yachts
@@alejandrob-c2277 What 4.7? You mean the 4.6? Sorry but the 3.8 is a way better engine. More reliable, better on gas and actually puts out the same amount of horsepower. And the supercharged 3.8s from the factory puts out more horsepower than the 4.6.
I got a 2004 last summer. 150k Love it and being 69 it might be the last car for me!!! Love it!!!!
In my poor neighborhood if you've got a decent running Buick Lesabre your doing good, nobody here would talk shit about them, they are happy just to have any vehicle.
Exactly i drive Grand Prix they are great also . 3.8 super reliable and if you change transmission fluid every couple of years . Buy some touch up duplicolour exact match touch up paint and wax job when paint dry . Oil under coat rockers and doors and under body quarters trunk coil towers lines . All the gm 3.8 cars are the same chassis and very cheap for aftermarket parts like brakes love them the series 3 3.8 were even better
Congratulations on your purchase! You were extremely fortunate in finding that Lesabre.I have a 2001 Custom model with leather power seats on both sides, power windows, cruise, etc.Unfortunately, mine is not as flawless as yours, rust in both doglegs, bubbling paint on both rear quarters and just cleared 101 K miles.Sadly was not maintained as well as yours by the previous owners
The Lesabre "Custom" trim was available with leather. I flipped one that was equipped virtually the same as the Limited trim, which had leather. The seats look to be factory spec to me, I'd bet they're OEM leather seats and not recovered. Fit and finish wasn't the greatest on these cars and definitely wasn't GM's strong suit around this era so the slight imperfections you noted are actually consistent with how they left the factory. And there is an active recall on the valve cover gaskets for those Series II 3800's, just had them replaced free on an '02 Monte Carlo SS I just sold. $300 is a steal for this though, great buy!
I was going to say I have a 2003 lesabre custom with leather and I bought it for $800 with 75,000 miles 2 years ago haven’t done anything other than brakes and tires . Great commuter cars
I just ran across some amazing jems you just gave me I have a 2005 Buick lasabre customer and I had a feeling those valve covers gasket had a recall I just knew it but u just confirm it I’m going to the Buick dealership first thing Monday THAAANNKKKKK YOUUUU 💎💎💎❤️❤️❤️💯
That car has less rust than some I've seen from Florida. It's always nice to get the window sticker and the story of the car from the person who bought it new.
Fix that minor valve cover leak and we'll all be dead by the time that 3.8 gives up the ghost.
@@jarrodj.griffeyodom1030 they all do at around 200k.Still a rock solid engine that last forever. The 3800 from gm and the 3.5 J series from honda are some the most durable v6 you can get on the market.
I had 2000 Buick LeSabre Custom. Loved that car. It’s reliable, easy to maintain, got decent gas mileage, and floats on the road. U-turns sucked though. And with leather seats on it, you’ll feel like you’re driving the comfiest couch on the road. I’m sad I crashed the thing avoiding a deer in the backroads and the front end got warped, but the thing lasted me nearly 10 years. I can’t complain. These things are great.
Very clean and bet very reliable too. This is a keeper Al dought you will find another.
Our family's 1996 Buick Park Avenue had over 600k miles and ran great until an accident happened
My park avenue has783,476 miles on original engine. I use it in my work as a courier. Transmission replaced 3 times and radiator 4 times. Change oil every 3 weeks.
Damn dude you really lucked out! I just spent 300 for new rockers and a new carpet for my F150 and you just buy a mint lesabre lol. That’s an amazing find especially in the salt belt!
My husband and I just purchased a 2004 Buick Lesabre Custom, and the gas gage and temperature gage doesn't work and sometimes we have trouble with the windows rolling down and the driver side door opening. we were told by the guy we bought it from and seen the receipts where he had a new motor put in the door, but it's still causing problems. even died on me a couple of times when I started it ..a noise under the hood which we will be checking out as well..but a BEAUTIFUL car! like NEW! sharp as a can be! 79,000 miles! Med. Shiny gray! hopefully, we can get this fixed soon through this pendemic
FYI, my 2005 Custom has a factory leather interior and 16 inch wheels. They were available as options on the 2000-2005 Customs.
I have that same car but only it's a year younger 03 and it's the limited model. The only down fall with these are the plastic lower intake gaskets other than that great car good on fuel. I forgot to mention the other problem, with this car is the fuel leveling sensor goes bad giving incorrect fuel amount.
Hey Al! 👋 was just thinking I wonder where Al is?..it’s been a minute!👍👍. That’s a prime pristine example of a LaSabre of that gen!! Always good to buy from older folks that _value_ their assets & take care of their stuff. Thanks & looking forward to more awesome content! 👍👍
I have a 2003 gold LeSabre custom I absolutely love it
I have a 2003 Le Sebre Love mine too.Usually that intake leak will be the throttle body gasket for 6 dollars
@@tednguyen2034 very I don’t have her anymore I got a 2018 but she’s still driving
I love these old Buicks.
I call BS on the custom aftermarket leather,,,,I have had these Lesabres too.
I paid $300 for a 90 lesabre in 2003 got tons of miles out of it. Now i own an 05 lesabre that i paid $700 for and ill have it forever no matter what else i buy. Love these cars. The 3800 is the best
bought one exactly like that, but is a limited, paid 2000.00, awesome car, love it to death!
Lots of people got leather with a custom. You didn't need to get a Limited if you wanted leather.
Shows like a 3 year old 40000 mile car.Homerun AL.
I have a 05 limited I paid 300 for, runs great
My granny had a 2005 Buick lesabre custom. My mom now has it with 135k. It’s had so many problems. I love it. I learned to drive on it. It’s that sage mist green
This year of Buick I love because the dash broad, it looks like an aircraft's dash, and the way the vents are serest, and the black function button are so professional looking. I see that you have had a few in the past, is this the one that you will never sell and keep for your self? This may be the last example in so like new you may ever find, I hope this one is the keeper car! :-)
Remember when this generation Lesabre came out around 2000 loved this body style still see these cars from time to time one thing Buicks are known from comfy and smooth ride. The 3800 engine last long time same goes with these cars Buicks run for long time.
Beautiful! That's DIFFENITLY aftermarket leather! There is a recall to take the beauty cover off the engine and remove the front plastic peice that covers the valve cover, which also doubles as a spark plug wire holder.
Wow you got a fantastic by with that vehicle it is really sharp looking and so glad that you found such a bargain the only thing I didn’t like about vehicles of this year was a lot of times the radio controls or the steering wheel controls the coating with the information with scrape off.
I purchased a 1986 Buick Lasabre out here in New Mexico with only 26,000 original miles. Have had it about 2 years already with no problems. The previous owner kept it in their garage so exterior is pristine.
In Michigan The rear end rusts out in those. The fuel lines go to hell, the brake lines rot away. The struts rot away. No one but old people buy those cars, thats why you got it so cheap. We dont have inspections here. No one gets $1,500 for them because they are waxed.
Be sure to check for recall on that car from GM. There was a fuel system defect that can result in a fire under the hood.
That's a gift. Congratulations !!
Wow that's in great shape. Nicer than most cars with less than 60k on them! That's the reason I bought one of my Regal GS'. Carfax showed long term previous owners in So Cal, and the under carriage looked just like that! I miss that car
I also bought on Craigslist a 2002 buick park avenue 98000 miles for $2300. the ride is smooth and it has the 3900 engine.
man you scored!!!!! down here that car would be every bit of $4-5K......it is in almost new condition and very rare to not see them ragged out so this one would be a keeper for sure but you could also make profit off it if you wanted to and if you do make some profit it would be nice to share some with the elderly couple you got it from since they thought it was junk but it is far from junk....unless the couple did not care about the money then it can be your profit and their loss?...anyways this is a super nice car and good to see you posting again!
Blazer2533 they were very wealthy, just wanted it gone. Purchased the car at their million dollar summer home on a lake
My brother..I know alot about these cars and you got a great deal! The last 05 I had here in Florida back around Thanksgiving had 34k and I got $6400 for it! Good lmtd tan leather chrome rims, heads up display
I have an 05 lesabre, the last year that was made and it's a good riding car..
@@tednguyen2034 i have to top off the radiator every once in a while because of the intake gasket.. But other than that, it runs great..👍👍
Here a lesabre with no rust and 150,000miles goes for like 3000 or 2500
For example i bought an 05 buick lacrosse base model salvage title with the 3.8 for 2300, and that the lowest ive seen and it had 167,000mile!!
Very nice Buick. My sister owned a 97 or 98 Park Avenue Ultra. That was one nice car. I wish I would have bought it when she got her new car. Her main reason she got rid of it. In the course of about 4 months the car went through 3 dealer installed alternators.
My buddy rocks a LeSabre but she's beat to shit, no thanks to him doing a 30 minute minimum drive in ten!
I just bought one with the same story, old couple ..one owner....however the price was over 4000.00....and worth every penny ....back when GM was still GM.....in terms of sedans .whatever happened? Did you sell it ?
I have a 2003 Buick Le Sabre. The intake gasket leak Everyone talked about was only a Throttle Body Gasket for 7 dollars its linked to the motor.
What a fantastic example, you won't find many as clean all around as that. I'd definitely say the mechanic was trying to rip the owners off. You won't find another one like that, especially with the story attached to it, so it's going to be a hard decision whether to keep that one or give it the once over and send it up the road. It's certainly not going to be getting any easier to find really nice ones...
I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre Custom with 45k miles on it. I've had a few things I've need to do to it, but it's running pretty good. My front valve cover gasket was leaking.... had replaced for $116. Replaced a CV Joint on left side. Replaced engine mounts which was expensive..... And the ignition coil pack for cylinder 3 was bad.... $35 from amazon.
149000 miles is nothing on this car. I have a 2004 that I bought in 2018 for 1300 with 248000 miles. I put new tires, had hub bearings done, new brakes and radiator coolant changed. Today I have 270000 miles on it. I have taken it on multiple road trips of 600 to 800 miles round trip. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across country. I hit the jackpot when I found this car. The most amazing thing is the gas mileage for a car with this mileage. On the highway I get around 32 mpg
Pretty much the same specs as when it was new. 1300 may have been a bit too much to pay, but not to me. What a car!
My favorite ride. Had to check for one like it. Bam! $400 may get it asap! Buicks Rock!
If I had that car I'd rather drive it off a cliff than let someone have it or $300.
Very good car. I use to own one but it had 190 miles on it but the lot tried to charge me five grand on it . But sad to return it . But Al you stay getting a great deals. That why I like your contents
Sounds like the inspection station was trying to rip off the old couple.
Quick flip it and let somebody that does not have alot of money get alot of car for a great price, and enjoy it for alot of years to come . That car is perfect example of a reliable comfortable great looking car that someone will be proud to own . Great purchase on that one 👍
I have an 88 Buick LeSabre 103000 miles paid 700. One owner... Nice video 👍
Not a buick, but a gm. My dad has a 06 chevrolet uplander with 241k miles. Runs and is very reliable.
This one is another great steal deal for you, just like that '97 Aurora! (your only 2 vids I've seen so far) Re: those body scrape blemishes, Clint Eastwood would say "My garage shrank."
What is your thoughts on a 2004 Buick Lesabre with 65,000 miles at $1900 and a 1998 Lincoln town car with same mileage for $2900. I can buy both but I want to flip it. I just sold a 2003 ford ranger with 31000 bought at $1800 sold for $6000
Wow you are LUCKY!!! I wish I could find deal's like this. I hear people all the time getting deal's like this. And that would have been a prefect car for my wife. I guess I keep looking wish me luck.
Nice find man! That one has less rust than the ones I see down in Texas. Can ya do a vid on what's in your stable currently? Steve in Texas.
Sweet ride.. you got a gem there..
You have a gift! A friends 2002 Limited model has a rear A/C vent.
I have the exact same one but blue but I put a back up camera on it an new blue tooth touch screen radio custom headliner working on dash board and redoing seats also taking out the chair console an building a new one also new carpet with padding under carpet. Work in progress but it’s never broke down on me going on 3 years of owner ship I’m the second owner.
Show the bill of sale or its all cap
My current daily is a 2000 Buick lesabre with almost 97,000 miles. Bought it form my dad in early 2015. Going on 5 years later. Old ironsides still runs like a champ. Just put new plugs and wires in the old girl. Lol
Your so lucky. I paid 1,300 for mine and after a few weeks everything went to shit. I done so much work on it
I'm getting one of these as my first car
I'm going to go buy a LeSabre now.
I have a 2000 lesabre when I got it it had 53000 on it when i got it. Its at in the old woman's garage for 2 years. My Dad and I put alot of work into it now she runs like a top
Wow incredible deal! Good for you!
The someone that was coming later in the day was me lol oh well I figured I’d see it on UA-cam or Craigslist within the week very clean compared to the other junk Buick’s on cl at the moment nice vid
I had 2002 Buick lesabre is like riding on air, remember the battery is under the back seat.
you find some great deals and this is another winner
Very nice Buick! definatly a great find. Have you done anymore with the silver Grand Prix?
Just sold my equally spotless 2005 Buick LaSabre for $3,500 but it had 165,000 miles on it. For my every day long trip car I kept my 1999 Buick Park Avenue with 315,000 miles. Not worth $100 but I drive it all over the midwest.
With the wide oval grille and droopy headlights, the front end very very slightly like a 2003 Maserati Quattroporte. But only slightly.
I’ve been looking for one I’ve been passing on the over 100k ones. Maybe I’ll have to reconsider. You found the proverbial highway mileage car. Good find
It is definitely a clean LaSaber. The only real problem all those GM motors cars had was leaking intake gaskets.
I replaced my intake plenum also upper and lower intake gaskets they were pretty bad i don't know how it was even running. The dexcool antifreeze that GM started using during the 90's had something to do with bad intake gaskets. These engines have a defect in the intake the egr gases produce heat and burn a hole in the egr inlet tube in the plastic intakes and causes a vacuum leak causing misfire and coolant to get into the throttle body.
Just make sure you lubricate the bonnet/hood catch well so that you don't end up with the windscreen full of bonnet/hood...
Welcome back big Al, missed your videos bro.
You lucked out bro! Nice ride!
Do you still have this? Or have you'd decided that resell it? I love Buicks!
those 3800 engines were solid bullet proof engines.
Feel like a road trip video? I could use a good used car here in Colorado. That's the ultimate road test...
I’ve got my dads 2004 Buick lesbre when he died and I gave to my oldest to drive nice car to drive
Can’t beat that deal!
Nice car hope you enjoyed my friend a very good looking car and well-maintained that’s the most important in my opinion have a great day.
Nice car but yeah how often are you going to drive it. Sell it for 2,500 make a quick 2.2k.
How is the lancer moving? The low end cars here have stopped moving on Craig's.
@@bigalsbikeandauto cool I've got a few out here Honda's and Toyotas hope they start moving soon.
Great highway cruiser!
State of Massachusetts has the windshield wiper headlight law. You need to have headlights on while it’s raining...autos won’t come on if it’s too light iut
What state are you in ? That inspection sounds like a nightmare I can’t believe they even inspect the valve cover. In NJ all they check is emissions I have never had a car fail plus it’s free !
I was thinking the same thing, in Texas inside of a city limit they do an emissions test through OBD port, can't have a check engine light on, and a basic safety inspection lights turn signals parking brake.
If you live outside of a major city they only do the safety inspection side not the emissions test.
I bought a 2003 and here's the problems it has 1. Very and I mean very light valve cover leak, not enough to stain the driveway, 2. Fuel gauge is off and doesn't give the correct reading, 3. The dash is split and is pulling up. I paid 1400 for it and it has 138k on it and the check engine light came on for the mass air flow and it went off when I changed the air filter
@@tylermishler6574 the transmission shifts hard but not all the time so you might have to have installed a " Trans Go Shift Kit" it will correct it because the LeSabre has a problem I think it's a P1811 internal code for that, but if you buy the kit and know of a honest Transmission place it shouldn't be too expensive
Killer deal, Brings me back to the day WAY back :)
Aw man I love these Sabre’s. I got a cousin that inherited her grandmas 01 and it has leather. I think it’s a limited. It only has 50k miles. Headliner is shot and I think it has a coolant leak. But my cuz wants my 98 c230. I may trade damnit. I would love one of 5hese
I love Buick Lesabres they are reliable and durable vehicles. I own a 97 lesabre and it’s my baby. Let me when you want to sell it. I will buy it immediately
I have a Buick LeSabre 1997 and for some reason my headlights won't work but my highbeams works, do you have an guidance as to what may cause them to not work
Broken wire near headlights along the bumper in harness had same problem. My 2000 was free and only 128,000 from California2019☺
Excellent buy
Wow, what a Deal, that car is a beauty, GoodUp, Liked, StaySafe
Always great to see a new video , one of my favorite channels , thanks for the great content .
