Remember that fake Galaxy S III from about a month ago? It's here, in the TechnoBuffalo offices. When we first laid eyes on the blasphemes forgery, we wanted to know why? And how? Giving it a quick glance, it looks like the real deal. Someone who doesn't know any better, such as a first-time buyer, would be none-the-wiser. But our eyes are trained, and we'd like to think we know a counterfeit gadget when we see one. So what it is about this "Galaxy S III" that's fake? Quite a bit. Unless you have an authentic Galaxy S III handy, discerning the physical imperfections of the knockoff are difficult. In fact, the impostor does a pretty good job of imitating Samsung's flagship, right down to the box. But delving deeper uncovers some pretty glaring differences, such as the ridiculous "Sunsang" battery and rooted software (maybe that's a plus?). Why wouldn't you use another one? Just curious, because I was thinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy s3.
That's all fine and dandy but was it a useful fake phone? ( i.e. could you call people, could they hear you clearly, could you hear them clearly, could you text, are there any signal strength issues, how well do the apps work, how long does the battery last, does the bluetooth and GPS work, what frequencies does it cover?).

how could you tell if its fake or not if we cannot open & see the inside box unless we already pay it up? is it by the official sticker of samsung at the bottom of the box or is there any other way to find out?
This is a pretty good clone. Others are stupid clones with Java, MTK or Spreadtrum

It's easy to tell now since you have a side by side comparison. Not for anyone that is not looking at it side by side.
Its unfortunate that in countries like Zimbabwe, they don't let you power on the device or open the box for that matter. Most of the time, people end up realising the devices are not legit only after completing the purchase. I bought what I though was an S3 mini as my secondary phone and I consider myself to be tech/gadget literate.
"hear what it looks like" this fellow is one of those rare individuals whose senses merge. Can you see music? smell sounds? Weird!
Thanks for the heads up. I know that not having seen an S3 in the store yet, I would have no point of comparison if it not for your demonstration. The battery, for me, would have been the only obvious one, maybe the "root" version. Regards!

This reminds me of the time my friend was bragging abut buying an unlocked iPhone. I had one myself, but he was so excited. Until I notice he never showed me it. So he finally showed me it, and the "eyephone" had a removable back with 4 sim card slots LOL!!!
Well, I was expecting a struggling touch screen and a slow OS but this looks like it's working pretty well actually .. lol

The common sense should be: if the price is fake (half or one third or even less), then the product is fake. If you still buy it, means you want just something cheap and fake. Calling a extremely cheap product fake is just redundant.

That's a really smooth and responsive phone for being a knock off. It's getting the point where knock offs are pretty good. There are some now that have the Mali 400.

one is if the phone is in your pocket, just touch it and it will vibrate if you have a message, or just lift it on the table.
So question, what are the differences hardware and software-wise? I mean why would I buy an original if I can buy an almost perfect clone much, much cheaper?

My aunt got her S3 from AT&T & that's where I'm getting mine because she trusts them & it looks & works perfectly I'll never get a phone from eBay or something like that
i found one on amazon for 99 dollars only locked by at&t but it is easy to unlock it by sortt of programs on computer so should i buy it?

You had me worried when I saw that white box, but I bought mine in-store at Radioshack, so I should be fine...

For a fake, that's pretty well done, it's probably the best fake I've seen....
So, don't get me wrong, I could see myself getting upset if I got ripped off like this; but what's the big deal about getting a fake phone if it does the same thing as a real one?

This was uploaded nearly a year ago now. There's clones around now that are hard to distinguish from the real thing.
Some of us aren't rich. For some of us, this fake SIII is a huge upgrade from what we currently have.

I think it's pretty easy to differentiate as the ori S3 screen and touch screen is not easy duplicate.
Unless you do not have a Samsung before.
This is why you should only buy your phone from an authorized retailer or if in doubt go to the actual cellular company themselves e.g. go to an actual T-Mobile retail store (and not someone that just happens to sell their phones). Prices suck but at least you are assured that you are getting the real deal.

I have a two year old samsung phone that has been dropped numerous time, that still has a flawless screen and I never had to put a case on it. While my friends iphone 4 and 4s has had to have their screens and/or back glass replaced from a simple fall. The 5 comes pre-scratched for you. The samsung s3 survived getting washed in the laundry. Cheap, it's not. I prefer Android, but Apple makes great phones, you don't have to attack other phones with lies to defend the iPhone.

Im pretty confused... my galaxy s3 is all correct on the front except on the back the logo is a raised paint... also the battery says 3.8v but samsung... whats your opinion?

There is an unlocked version which is in fact made by Samsung. You had me thinking all unlocked versions were fake .-.
Actually on the white S3 the back Samsung logo is a bit raised, but it's a metal feel, not plastic
Try to update the software with official Samsung update. If it fails or bricks, then you have a fake.
