Imagine if it was like supergirl.we get two seasons without then in season 3 we get Batman and then eventually around season 6 we get the Batman and Robin show
I think it's just down to CW not being able to get the rights to characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. The main reason they did Arrow was because they couldn't get the rights to Batman
I have no idea how they got the rights to the bats it when Gotham had to make theirs from scratch (they had one but they had to discard it due to WB) and make it look like no other bats it in history ever. But the CW was trusted. That's sad.
And also what happened CW wanted to make a batman series about dc didn't allow them so the cw made a green arrow because they had the rights to green arrow and flash , super girl , batwoman and all the others characters but they Don't have rights to batman and wonder woman, aquaman I got so angry when the was no batman series
It’s about time for us to get a live action Batman show. However the Arrowverse missed their chance. There’s a bigger chance that Titans would get a Batman spinoff cause at least their Batman is still around. I think a Batman show is very warranted but should maybe even start a new TV connected universe where Superman and Lois could switch earths to after Flash and legends ends. Personally I would cast Jensen Ackles as Batman. He’a young enough to be prime Batman but also old enough to have adopted a few robins plus his voice fits Batman perfect as portrayed in the long halloween animated movies.
They don't want to cheapen Batman by putting him on a show when he's out here making bank at the box office. Didn't they BAR CW from using Harley Quin from being used on Arrow because of Suicide Squad movie?

I’m not suggesting to have a Batman show on the CW but on HBO Max being more on par production wise with True Detective and Game of Thrones. Also Superman is also one of their biggest characters ever and they gave him a show so why not Batman. There is so much you can do with Batman on TV that the movies will never ever get to cause they only use Joker or the mainstream villains and they’ll never let Robin, Nightwing or Batgirl be a part of a Batman franchise, which a TV show could do.

@@luisz222 because they aren't doing anything with superman in movies right now. They have this weird rule for some character that there should only be one live action version at a time. For example when they had planned to include deathstroke in the dceu he disappeared from arrow and then he was used in titans. I find this rule pretty stupid but that's the reason while we'll probably never get a live action show about batman as they'll always have plans for him
I can see a way for Damian to be brought in. The Ras Al Ghul retcon could mean that Bruce and Talia got together and make it that Damian comes into the picture. I love your "Tim Drake finding retired Bruce" idea since Tim Drake is my favorite comic character, but if Batman is ever brought back in the cw, I have a feeling they would use Damian to give a family dynamic.
Honestly, if WB is going for the multiverse route for most of their DC projects, they SHOULD just lift their restrictions to the Arrowverse. Otherwise, that's really hypocritical and unfair for a franchise that is WAY more fleshed out than that of the DCEU

I think it's funny that the thing these adaptations seem to keep getting wrong is that Batman doesn't cross the line when Jason dies, he loses his way and almost crosses the line and then Tim Drake saves him from going over the edge. As it stands, Zack Snyder, Titans and Batwoman have all gotten Bruce's response to Jason's death wrong😂

You are completely ignoring Titans. Titans on HBO Max faces the same limitations as Batwoman on the CW so it is a fair comparison. Berlanti didn't tell Warner Brothers that he was going to have someone actually playing Batman {as opposed to Bruce Wayne} and they complained and told him flat out that he couldn't do that anymore. They had already filmed the Batman cameo for the Batwoman pilot but obviously Warner Brothers was telling Berlanti he couldn't use Batman at all. Berlanti has since cast Iain Glenn as Bruce Wayne for Titans and Warren Cristie as Bruce Wayne on Batwoman. Iain Glenn has had a lot more screen time and the whole Jason Todd / Tim Drake storyline was the first three seasons of Titans. You want to see Jason Todd killed and Tim Drake tell the Bat Family that he wants to be Robin? That was literally the plot of Titans Season 3. Warner Brothers also complained about an actor playing Joker on Titans but since then we have had Joker on Titans and also at the end of Season 3 of Batwoman [in a flashback]. There is a rumor about an actor playing Dick Grayson being cast for Gotham Knights but that reportedly won't be part of the Arrowverse and that show would have Batman dead. Batman wasn't "wasted" on the CW. They never had the rights to him. Even the Batman in Crisis was technically Bruce Wayne and not Batman.
Bro. It's a licensing issue, bro. Justice League was stalled out long enough they got to use Supes and Bats A Leetle Bit, then both got pulled entirely while it finalized filming and went to screen, then Supes no longer had a titular or major release so CW got to use Supes full time again, but The Batman was in development, so Bats got screwed out of direct use. If Bats comes up, it'll be now, but it might be in Gotham Knights instead of Arrowverse, or both, separately, because he doesn't have a titular movie for CW to compete for useage and licensing on.
I partially blame the WB for this stupid embargo they put on characters like Batman. But then again I wouldn't fully trust The CW with Batman, they couldn't even handle Batwoman.

Same for that weird tangent about Wonder Woman and Aquaman near the beginning there. Like no one was expecting them ever, people were shocked to get the likes of Superman and Barry Allen in their fully realized forms (more or less). And I'm one to think that restrictions are what may allow for a unique flavor in different interpretations of these characters (and shared universes thrive when they have to be creative with the characters they're utilizing). WW should have appear anywhere in early supergirl seasons, all the amazons lore could hav give that series such a plus man. Also after crisis they should have mixed their titans universe with the arrowverse, explaining that all that time flash and arrow were just out of the justice league. Little decitions like these could have injected the arrowverse with so much life, maybe to this point we could have been watching as well as superman and lois, maybe a batman and robin show, or something like that
CW’s Gotham Knights is the only way Batman can come into the CW DC shows even though not much is known about it like Crisis should of fixed all the problems with the arrowverse and I am surprised that Batman never crossed paths with either Green arrow or the other heroes except his best super pal superman
Well, the synopsys for that show says something about Bruce Wayne being murdered and his son (who apparently will be an original character) teaming up with some of his villians' children to figure out who did it. So yeah, if they ever get a Batman on that show, it will most likely be the same thing as Batwoman and Titans: he'll only ever show up as Bruce Wayne doing either small parts or a few flashback cameos and if he ever shows up as Batman, i'll will be that classic one-time cameo where you can only see glimpses of him and can never his face. CW keeps trying to get Batman since Smallville was a thing but most they could get was that Kevin Conroy cameo on Crisis. People should just accept WB will never let low-budget TV shows use Batman as a character especially if they're doing something with him in the movies and most you'll ever get are these small parts. They're too protective with the Batman franchise because it's just too damn lucrative, arguably even more lucrative than all of DC's other brands put toghether. They're not gonna dilute their best merchandise by having him appear regularly on a TV show. They make their money by limitig his exposure, thereby increasing demand, and then letting the audience see them in high budget, high profit projects while the low-budget TV stuff only get the spin-offs (Batwoman, Pennyworth, that old Birds of Prey show, Gotham). That's why the only Batman show we got since Adam West's time was Gotham which wasn't even a Batman show. It was a prequel mostly starring young Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon and Batman only showed up for real in the finale. They also do this with Joker, that's why the only Jokers we got in TV shows that were actual characters and not cameo-only characters were Gotham's and Batwoman's Joker, both of which aren't really the Joker, officially. Gotham didn't get permission to use him but they decided to do it anyway and created an character who's not legally an adaptation of the Joker but rather an original character based off of him and then they exploited loopholes, danced around restrictions and did everything they could to have the Joker without actually having the Joker. They made their character the Joker on practice even if he wasn't on paper and they did just enough for everyone to see and accept their character as a legit Joker even if he legally isn't and Batwoman's Joker 2.0 is the same thing, only they weren't as smart as the Gotham crew on making a character that's meant to be the Joker but actually isn't and he came and went by completely unnoticed. I don't like this Bat-Embargo bullshit any more than anyone does but it is what it is.

Thought people should know by now the reason we don't get Batman in TV shows aside from Bruce Wayne cameos and Batman cameos where they only show glimpses of him and avoid showing his face is because WB don't let TV shows use him. CW didn't "waste" Batman, they just aren't allowed to use him. You can blame them for their bad writing and for ruining their shows on the long run all you want but you can't blame them for the lack of Batman in the Arrowverse. As much as I would love for an arrowverse show starring Warren Christie as Batman done with the same style and budget as Superman and Lois, I don’t think it will happen anytime soon. If the Gotham Knights show gets picked up for a show order after they film the pilot then that’s two Gotham city shows on the cw, which is probably the reason why Batwoman hasn’t been renewed yet and probably won’t if this show gets picked up. Plus not only that but we also have to keep in mind the cw is being sold and WB is being bought out by discovery so that could affect things in a major way. The only way I realistically see it happening would be if Gotham Knights doesn’t get picked up and Batwoman ends.
Bold to assume WB would allow Batman to appear. We can see that the Arrowverse's character lineup is because of what WB allows them to have. Between CW being CW and WB only letting them have scraps, the true potential of these shows won't be realized. Batwoman was a show that, even without Batman himself, had tons of potential. That potential is long gone now, sadly.

I imagine if they had made a Batman show (FEATURING BATMAN), it could retcon a lot of stuff. Like maybe the Joker faked his death and retired with Batman gone (like he did in one of the endings for Death in the Family) and suddenly regains his insanity once the Bat is back (like in Dark Knight Returns). Maybe tease him at the end of Season One. I'd love the idea of Tim Drake being the anchor for Bruce. Have the arc for Season One be of Bruce become the Batman he use to be, before Jason's death.
They don't have the ability to use Batman from WB. Bruce Wayne can appear in the shows (ex Gotham and Titans) but not as Batman unless there are specific circumstances like the Gotham Series finale.
I can't believe why the Live Action DC Universe focuses way too much Batman because of DC doesn't want to make other superheroes who are super-smart to replace Batman for the Justice League as the minds due to DC Comics being in a different time.

SEASON 2: Red Hood as the main villain, Nightwing would be in this season, who return after years of retirement, the League of Assasins teased in the finale SEASON 3: Talia al Ghul (who get recasted because the actress of the Arrowverse is almost 50 year old so i want a recast) who became the leader of the League after Ra's death in Arrow, decide to attack Gotham begin the Shadow War, Damian Wayne wold be introduced, and Tim Drake would became Red Robin and Jason redeem himself helping the Bat-Family to fight Talia. SEASON 4: the Court of Owls as the main villain. SEASON 5: Deathstroke returns to Gotham to have is vengance to Batman, Signal and Cassandra Cain introduced SEASON 6: a new Joker appears at Gotham City, and the Bat-Family needs to confront with this menace SEASON 7: Wrath as the main villain (who in the comics is an "anti-Batman" and i would like to see on screen), and in this season No Man's Land would be adapted, the series ends with bruce Wayne dies to save the city, and give the mantle to Dick Grayson/Tim Drake who became the new Batman also if Warren Christie would be too older to play Batman, why make something different to normal Arrowverse show and make a prequel series on Batman , running for 10 seasons and start with Year 1 to end with Jason's death and Bruce kill the Joker, I'd also like to see this one.

I would do smth like White Knight. Where Batman dedicated himself to curing the Joker after he killed Jason. Jason could figure out that the Joker is Jack Napier Gotham's new running mayor. Red Hood could be trying to kill Jack Napier as Tim Drake becomes Robin and brings Batman out of retirement, who had to leave Gotham because while curing the Joker, Joker could've tried stopping him and Joker would get the upperhand, but Batman would pull out a gun so he had to give up. It could be told from Tim's perspective and it could be called "Batman and the boy wonder."
It's really cathartic to see people finally call out the Arrow-verse on there bull crap. Yeah, It's stupid how Batman hasn't appeared yet. And Batwoman continues to shit on his lore. Look at season 3 with their copycat Batman villains and Marcus as the Joker. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen happened to Batman lore. Who cares about Batwoman? No One! Look at the ratings. Week by week, their constantly in the toilet. S/L and Flash has been renewed, but not Batwoman, so hopefully that's a good sign. More importantly, when David Zaslav and the rest of Discovery takes over Warner Brothers, hopefully they'll drop their embargo bull shit, and make a Batman tv show.
That's mostly because everyone knows WB doesn't allow CW to use Batman. Given the obsession that CW has with Batman, they would probably take the first chance they could get at making a show for him, but they can't, and that's kind of unfortunate but one thing you can't do is blame them for not using him lol

In other words, just give the fans what they want, and things will turn out for the best. But they won't. Because of that, I don't care about the Arrow-verse anymore. And like I said, when the Discovery merger is final, David Zaslav and his board will take over, and he said one strategy they intend to use is giving fans what they want. So never say never.

I think they should bring batman to the CW I mean if they could use superman superman the orignal poster boy for dc comics then they should use batman. My idea would be have this be a prequel series it picks up after bruce returns from his training (think year 1 mixed with Netflix's daredevil season 1) we see bruce go around in a proto bat suit and at the end of the season he gets the batsuit then treat each season after like it's own year with batman dealing with his rouges gallery and some of the batfamily joining (dick and Barbra and jason) at the end of the show have the killing joke and death in the family batman reaches his breaking point and then kills the joker.(nightwing would have left for bludhaven jason todd would have been killed by the joker, Jim Gordon would have retired to help look after Barbra after the killing joke, and bruce tries to keep being batman but after he beat up a petty criminal almost to death he realises he cant keep going as batman and needs to go on a journey to rediscover who batman is) tho that's just my idea
Part of me thinks besides the movie problem, being against the CW was how Batwoman lost it's plot and setting, after Kate was not in the suit! There was a chance, and maybe was to be a slow build up to seeing BATMAN. No Kate Kane, no family, he would not hit. 1 thing the arrowverse really missed out on, a 1st live action character of Talia al ghul's son. They had a back story. Could have come to Gotham. Even if that might have jumped right over any Batman presence?
The network starts with Smallville. The story of the Kent family and young Clark. Last for ten seasons. That should have been the formula. WB cw did three series that took place in Gotham City with no Batman. all a waste and failures. They didn't stick with the formula. In the last attempt, Gotham knights they kill off the greatest superhero. Made Batman out to be a chump. The bosses at the network kept batwoman going for four shrinking seasons after it fell apart in the first. I am counting the first episodes of what was supposed to be The Flash last season. There's no way batwoman and GKs would work on the same network. Shows you how bad decisions making skills the cw bosses had.
I agree with you said about Ryan not being connected to Bruce Wayne. I hate Ryan Wilder for being Batwoman without Kate Kate. I hope Batwoman season 4 will be about Kate and Ryan work together as two batwomen

I honestly doubt we'd ever get a Batman TV show , since we already have 3 big screen batmen and having one in a TV show wouldn't make sense. Another reason for this is probably cause WB doesn't want to give the CW "Batman" due to business rules and all that.
This is just my personal opinion but if WB and CW agreed to have the DCEU connected to the arrowverse both of them would probably be doing slightly better. I’d even would’ve had the Arkham games be connected if I could. That would also help with Batman s absence in Batwoman
technically they are canon though the multiverse. Also it should be separate so the Cw’s mistakes don’t latch onto the main side of the DCeU. I just wish we could have a new universe that’s actually good and comic accurate.
Batman should have been in Arrow Season 3 during the whole League of Asassins story arc and he should’ve been played by Karl Urban. Bruce would be an old friend of Oliver. The league would also be attacking Gotham City, not just Star City so Oliver, Roy, Laurel and Diggle would follow the League of Asassins to Gotham and they would find out that the League is also attacking the Wayne Manor so the three would go in and help Bruce Wayne, but instead Bruce is simply kicking the Assassins asses like they were jokes (which they were to be honest, they were worse than Storm Troopers). Oliver would be quite shocked and confused at seeng his old friend kicking ass so easily. Oliver would use his robotic voice to talk to Bruce, but Bruce would smirk and say “I know it’s you… Oliver”. Roy, Laurel and Diggle would ask him how does he know that Oliver is the Green Arrow. Bruce would tell them everything he knows about Oliver. Oliver would ask him why the league was attacking him and Bruce would tell Team Arrow that he was trained by the League of Assassins and that he is Batman. Roy would make a joke like “yeah right, Batman is a myth” and he would activate a book shelf that would move and he would tell Team Arrow to follow him and everyone follows Bruce to the Batcave where Team Arrow sees multiple Batman Suits. The main suit being one that looks similar to the one from the Batman Live Britain show. Bruce asks Oliver why is he being chased by the League and Oliver would tell him he survived Ras Al Ghul’s sword in a battle and that now Ras wants him to become the heir to Ras Al Ghul. Bruce tells Oliver that he is also a heir to Ras and now he understands that Ras wants his two Heirs to fight to the death to become the next Ras Al Ghul. Oliver asks Bruce what’s the plan and Bruce says “if we are going to fight a League of Assassins, then we have to form a league of our own” and Batman brings in Dick Grayson who would be played by Steven McQueen from Vampire Diaries. Team Arrow and Team Batman are finally teaming up. I don’t know who would play Barbara, but she would also team up helping Felicity and Ray do hacking type of stuff. Eventually Oliver and Bruce face Ras in their suits and they barely defeat him together. Oliver stabs Ras and is about to deliver the final blow to Ras Al Ghul, but Bruce tells Oliver that killing Ras will only give him what he wants, a heir to Ras Al Ghul. Oliver drops the sword, but Ras grabs the sword and cuts his throat open killing himself. Oliver and Bruce look at Ras’s dead body and Oliver is then shot by the police and he falls down the dam. Bruce tries to catch him but Felicity appears in Ray’s suit saving Oliver’s life. At the end Team Batman and Team Arrow thank each other and they go their own ways and we would get a teaser of a Batman Spinoff
To be honest I think the Arrowvers should end It’s kinda cool but many of the shows lost quality over time and I think the crossover stuff hurt especially Arrow which also is the best example for inconsistent quality I mean 1-2 great, 3 was bad, 4 was terrible, first half of 5 was boring but the rest great however it still had Olicity, 6 was fine, 7 great in the first third or so, terrible rest, 8 was fUn but not Arrow anymore (outraging finale)
They dont get to use Batman. DC has done everything short of putting a press release out to explain that. Even the mentions and references were granted by special permission. You just need to read literally any interview with the producers.
Titans is also wasting their own Batman. Granted it’s different shows but at least Wayne shows up physically. Despite this, he hasn’t even suited up as Batman and only appeared as a dream sequence even before an actor was casted. Also Wayne just sits around and lets kids do his work. Either way both Batwoman and Titans have indeed wasted their potential for Batman and even the extended Bat Family.
Both of the shows don't have the right to use batman. That's why we can only see bruce wayne or short dream / flashback sequences of batman. That's also why in a show like gotham batman was only a cameo
Dude I had the same idea as you for the Arrowverse Batman, great minds think alike. And maybe in season 1 Jim Gordon gets out of retirement and becomes commissioner again, 2 we can see Nightwing which would be cool. And possibly Barbra Gordon, who was hinted in the Arrowverse as oracle, so maybe she could show up in either season 1, or 2 maybe 3 depending on the story. And this is just a wild idea out there could be a story arc about the Joker coming back, but there would be 3 Joker storyline from the comics as the arc for season 2, and I think Jason should become the new Joker, like maybe the fourth one. And it would be a similar story to how Tim became the Joker in Batman Beyond, but with Jason, and maybe another reason Batman killed the Joker is because he made Jason tell him all his secrets like that Bruce Wayne is the Batman, and so he killed him. What do you think of this pitch for a CW Batman series?
It's actually good that the CW doesn't get to use Batman since all they do in Batwoman is put him down to make Kate and Ryan look better. First by making him incompetent in not being able to save Beth and her and Kate's parents, then Kate stealing his stuff, accusing him of taking credit for her work when it was the other way around, having Kevin Conroy's first live action Batman be an evil alternate universe version just to make Kate killing him look heroic, having Jacob blame Batman for the existences of Joker and Alice and so on. Back in the 90's the Batman the Animated Series episode Trial proved the "Batman creates his villains" belief some people have wrong.
The cw should be sued for not making and not putting Batman in the arrowverse and I wish they didn’t show snippets not showing Batman they should actually show his suit and body and give Batman a show
One thing literally I everyone forgets that in season 1 of the flash Harrison wells (I think in like episode 8 whatever the crossover episode was) is talking about how Barry shouldn’t look up to Oliver and literally name Drops Batman. It’s a small thing but it’s the first time his name was ever mentioned and everyone ignores it. That my small rant for the day

Not a Gotham fan? If you were you'd definitely know there's no way WB would give Batman to the CW. WB sucks ass. They wouldn't let Fox use Batman or Joker or Harley. ....maybe I'm wrong because they actually let the CW make a batsuit unlike Fox. The Gotham batsuit looked so bad because WB forced them to make a batsuit that looked nothing like any other ever made even in comics.

He's probably more lucrative than all of DC's other brands put together and that's why they're so protective with him and only use him on the more profitable medias to avoid diluting the brand. They've always given live-action TV shows more freedom in regards to Superman. He's got that old Lois and Clark TV show, Smallville, and the current show. How many Batman shows have we gotten since Adam West's time? Exactly, none. There was Gotham but that wasn't exactly a Batman show. It was a prequel mostly starring Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon and Batman only really showed up in the finale. Supergirl faced some Superman limitations back in season one where they could only use him as a cameo-character where they only showed glimpses of him and avoid showing his face and his front (usually how Batman is portrayed in these shows) but even that didn't last. He got to show up as an actual character on the following seasons and even got his own show. Batman doesn't get that because WB won't let TV shows use him. I don't like most CW shows and i criticize them for a lot of things, but the lack of Batman in their shows certanly isn't their fault.

While Gotham Knights is likely to dash these plans since it is planned for The CW and doesn't seem like it would be set in the same universe, it would be nice to basically soft reboot the Gotham storyline. Get rid of the current writers and bring in a new team, and bring in more Bat-characters to the cast, such as a new Robin, Spoiler (whom we've already met), and maybe another. Either have them as a vehicle to find and bring back Bruce Wayne, or have them fill in for Team Batwoman (either create a problem that takes them away from Gotham for a while or put them in a tough spot that the new guys have to save them from, and thereby join forces), and actually actively look into the mystery of Batman's disappearance and finally find him either at the end of the first season or beginning of the second. Bring back big Batman villains (who are still alive) or introduce still-comic-based but less-tightly-leashed adversaries who can carry a season or a few arcs of a season. Probably retcon or shrug aside a bunch of things such as Mary's behavior (if she's kept around) and whatever that sequel hook for the end of the third season was supposed to be (didn't watch that season; only watched the Thorias Unlimited reviews). WB, please drop this dumb embargo, especially since you haven't made half of your slate. We can accept different versions of the same character in different universes. No one would have asked "Why is Deadshot black now?" I'm sure people could figure it out in 2004, too. Heck, Brandon Routh's character was supposed to be Blue Beetle if it wasn't for the restrictions, but now he's left the Arrowverse almost entirely and the movie BB is supposed to be in is no closer. (Plus, Booster Gold is in the Arrowverse now, so...) Any direction that Gotham takes would be a vast improvement under a superior writing team. It would be a stretch to say that one could even salvage Batwoman, but I doubt it would be impossible.

And more importantly, what will be his motivation if Batman killed The Joker, far too much faith is being put in the CW if you think they can come up with reasonable explanations for those, let alone portray them right.

Honestly, one of the reasons why The Batman works so well is that it GETS who Batman is supposed to be: Not a dark, brooding vigilante who beats the snot out of criminals (Although he DEFINITELY is that), but a hero who brings hope to the hopeless in Gotham city. Heck, the ending scene with him leading the people of Gotham out of darkness into the light of day is AMAZING. It solidifies Batman as the hero Gotham needs, not the one it deserves, which is what he's been through most of the movie. And even better, it manages to show Batman is a hero through his ACTIONS, not just his words, which is a BIG problem with a LOT of CW shows: They *tell* instead of *showing*. If anything, I think The Batman was basically a middle finger to the recent portrayals of the character, as well as a middle finger to the CW for constantly taking shots at him.
I have barely any love for the Arrowverse after the failed Crisis but I think it’s asking too much for Batman or WW. Remember, they can’t use the JL characters. They couldn’t use much of the main three. Superman got a pass due to Smallville. CW had rights with the Flash but they couldn’t bring in the JL. I genuinely believe that if they did, they’d do what you’d suggested but they couldn’t. It’s not that they wouldn’t. You could instead of Batwoman do a Nightwing or Outlaws show, hell a Gotham Knights with Nightwing, Tim, Oracle, Cassandra and Jason. Asking for a Batman show when the CW had power struggles with him is bit too much and realistically impossible to happen. So I wouldn’t say he’s wasted but just couldn’t use so they decided to reference and bring mentions of him.
With the rumours of Jensen ackles apparently could be playing cw batman I hope they just do another retcon, we’ve had so many of them I don’t think it would matter, I think Jensen is a pretty good choice too, his animated performances have always been top tier, if they do what they did with superman and Lois and give it hbo funding and good writers it could be a great thing

It genuinely triggers me how they basically debuted justice league at the end of crisis on infinite earths and then proceeded to do nothing with it. The closest thing we’ve gotten to a crossover since then was armaggeddon and that totally doesnt count. It would not be that difficult to make a few justice league mini series rather than putting the crossovers in everyone’s individual shows
A Batman series would work so well. I don’t know why they always want to cram everything into a movie. He has so many Villains. Sidekicks. Storylines. Etc. Closest thing we gotten to one was Gotham.

I think it's just down to CW not being able to get the rights to characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. The main reason they did Arrow was because they couldn't get the rights to Batman

It’s about time for us to get a live action Batman show. However the Arrowverse missed their chance. There’s a bigger chance that Titans would get a Batman spinoff cause at least their Batman is still around. I think a Batman show is very warranted but should maybe even start a new TV connected universe where Superman and Lois could switch earths to after Flash and legends ends. Personally I would cast Jensen Ackles as Batman. He’a young enough to be prime Batman but also old enough to have adopted a few robins plus his voice fits Batman perfect as portrayed in the long halloween animated movies.

I can see a way for Damian to be brought in. The Ras Al Ghul retcon could mean that Bruce and Talia got together and make it that Damian comes into the picture. I love your "Tim Drake finding retired Bruce" idea since Tim Drake is my favorite comic character, but if Batman is ever brought back in the cw, I have a feeling they would use Damian to give a family dynamic.

I think it's funny that the thing these adaptations seem to keep getting wrong is that Batman doesn't cross the line when Jason dies, he loses his way and almost crosses the line and then Tim Drake saves him from going over the edge. As it stands, Zack Snyder, Titans and Batwoman have all gotten Bruce's response to Jason's death wrong😂

You are completely ignoring Titans. Titans on HBO Max faces the same limitations as Batwoman on the CW so it is a fair comparison. Berlanti didn't tell Warner Brothers that he was going to have someone actually playing Batman {as opposed to Bruce Wayne} and they complained and told him flat out that he couldn't do that anymore. They had already filmed the Batman cameo for the Batwoman pilot but obviously Warner Brothers was telling Berlanti he couldn't use Batman at all. Berlanti has since cast Iain Glenn as Bruce Wayne for Titans and Warren Cristie as Bruce Wayne on Batwoman. Iain Glenn has had a lot more screen time and the whole Jason Todd / Tim Drake storyline was the first three seasons of Titans. You want to see Jason Todd killed and Tim Drake tell the Bat Family that he wants to be Robin? That was literally the plot of Titans Season 3. Warner Brothers also complained about an actor playing Joker on Titans but since then we have had Joker on Titans and also at the end of Season 3 of Batwoman [in a flashback]. There is a rumor about an actor playing Dick Grayson being cast for Gotham Knights but that reportedly won't be part of the Arrowverse and that show would have Batman dead. Batman wasn't "wasted" on the CW. They never had the rights to him. Even the Batman in Crisis was technically Bruce Wayne and not Batman.

Bro. It's a licensing issue, bro. Justice League was stalled out long enough they got to use Supes and Bats A Leetle Bit, then both got pulled entirely while it finalized filming and went to screen, then Supes no longer had a titular or major release so CW got to use Supes full time again, but The Batman was in development, so Bats got screwed out of direct use. If Bats comes up, it'll be now, but it might be in Gotham Knights instead of Arrowverse, or both, separately, because he doesn't have a titular movie for CW to compete for useage and licensing on.
I partially blame the WB for this stupid embargo they put on characters like Batman. But then again I wouldn't fully trust The CW with Batman, they couldn't even handle Batwoman.

CW’s Gotham Knights is the only way Batman can come into the CW DC shows even though not much is known about it like Crisis should of fixed all the problems with the arrowverse and I am surprised that Batman never crossed paths with either Green arrow or the other heroes except his best super pal superman
Well, the synopsys for that show says something about Bruce Wayne being murdered and his son (who apparently will be an original character) teaming up with some of his villians' children to figure out who did it. So yeah, if they ever get a Batman on that show, it will most likely be the same thing as Batwoman and Titans: he'll only ever show up as Bruce Wayne doing either small parts or a few flashback cameos and if he ever shows up as Batman, i'll will be that classic one-time cameo where you can only see glimpses of him and can never his face. CW keeps trying to get Batman since Smallville was a thing but most they could get was that Kevin Conroy cameo on Crisis. People should just accept WB will never let low-budget TV shows use Batman as a character especially if they're doing something with him in the movies and most you'll ever get are these small parts. Gotham didn't get permission to use him but they decided to do it anyway and created an character who's not legally an adaptation of the Joker but rather an original character based off of him and then they exploited loopholes, danced around restrictions and did everything they could to have the Joker without actually having the Joker. They made their character the Joker on practice even if he wasn't on paper and they did just enough for everyone to see and accept their character as a legit Joker even if he legally isn't and Batwoman's Joker 2.0 is the same thing, only they weren't as smart as the Gotham crew on making a character that's meant to be the Joker but actually isn't and he came and went by completely unnoticed. I don't like this Bat-Embargo bullshit any more than anyone does but it is what it is.

Thought people should know by now the reason we don't get Batman in TV shows aside from Bruce Wayne cameos and Batman cameos where they only show glimpses of him and avoid showing his face is because WB don't let TV shows use him. As much as I would love for an arrowverse show starring Warren Christie as Batman done with the same style and budget as Superman and Lois, I don’t think it will happen anytime soon. If the Gotham Knights show gets picked up for a show order after they film the pilot then that’s two Gotham city shows on the cw, which is probably the reason why Batwoman hasn’t been renewed yet and probably won’t if this show gets picked up. Plus not only that but we also have to keep in mind the cw is being sold and WB is being bought out by discovery so that could affect things in a major way. The only way I realistically see it happening would be if Gotham Knights doesn’t get picked up and Batwoman ends.
Bold to assume WB would allow Batman to appear. We can see that the Arrowverse's character lineup is because of what WB allows them to have. Between CW being CW and WB only letting them have scraps, the true potential of these shows won't be realized. Batwoman was a show that, even without Batman himself, had tons of potential. That potential is long gone now, sadly.

I imagine if they had made a Batman show (FEATURING BATMAN), it could retcon a lot of stuff. Like maybe the Joker faked his death and retired with Batman gone (like he did in one of the endings for Death in the Family) and suddenly regains his insanity once the Bat is back (like in Dark Knight Returns). Maybe tease him at the end of Season One.
I'd love the idea of Tim Drake being the anchor for Bruce. Have the arc for Season One be of Bruce become the Batman he use to be, before Jason's death.

SEASON 1: Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham and decide to continue his crime fighting as Batman, the Mutant Gang from the Dark Knight Returns would be the main villain and in this season Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown would be introduced and they became Robin and Spoiler, also Catwoman would be in this season, i have a cool idea to introduce Helena Wayne, who is the daughter have with Selina in Earth 2 comics, so why not make this.
SEASON 2: Red Hood as the main villain, Nightwing would be in this season, who return after years of retirement, the League of Assasins teased in the finale
SEASON 3: Talia al Ghul (who get recasted because the actress of the Arrowverse is almost 50 year old so i want a recast) who became the leader of the League after Ra's death in Arrow, decide to attack Gotham begin the Shadow War, Damian Wayne wold be introduced, and Tim Drake would became Red Robin and Jason redeem himself helping the Bat-Family to fight Talia.
SEASON 4: the Court of Owls as the main villain.
SEASON 5: Deathstroke returns to Gotham to have is vengance to Batman, Signal and Cassandra Cain introduced
SEASON 6: a new Joker appears at Gotham City, and the Bat-Family needs to confront with this menace
SEASON 7: Wrath as the main villain (who in the comics is an "anti-Batman" and i would like to see on screen), and in this season No Man's Land would be adapted, the series ends with bruce Wayne dies to save the city, and give the mantle to Dick Grayson/Tim Drake who became the new Batman
also if Warren Christie would be too older to play Batman, why make something different to normal Arrowverse show and make a prequel series on Batman , running for 10 seasons and start with Year 1 to end with Jason's death and Bruce kill the Joker, I'd also like to see this one.

What we could have had was basically the titans show.
I would do smth like White Knight. Where Batman dedicated himself to curing the Joker after he killed Jason. Jason could figure out that the Joker is Jack Napier Gotham's new running mayor. Red Hood could be trying to kill Jack Napier as Tim Drake becomes Robin and brings Batman out of retirement, who had to leave Gotham because while curing the Joker, Joker could've tried stopping him and Joker would get the upperhand, but Batman would pull out a gun so he had to give up. It could be told from Tim's perspective and it could be called "Batman and the boy wonder."
It's really cathartic to see people finally call out the Arrow-verse on there bull crap. Yeah, It's stupid how Batman hasn't appeared yet. And Batwoman continues to shit on his lore. Look at season 3 with their copycat Batman villains and Marcus as the Joker. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen happened to Batman lore. Who cares about Batwoman? No One! Look at the ratings. Week by week, their constantly in the toilet. S/L and Flash has been renewed, but not Batwoman, so hopefully that's a good sign. More importantly, when David Zaslav and the rest of Discovery takes over Warner Brothers, hopefully they'll drop their embargo bull shit, and make a Batman tv show.
That's mostly because everyone knows WB doesn't allow CW to use Batman. Given the obsession that CW has with Batman, they would probably take the first chance they could get at making a show for him, but they can't, and that's kind of unfortunate but one thing you can't do is blame them for not using him lol

In other words, just give the fans what they want, and things will turn out for the best. But they won't. Because of that, I don't care about the Arrow-verse anymore. And like I said, when the Discovery merger is final, David Zaslav and his board will take over, and he said one strategy they intend to use is giving fans what they want. So never say never.

My idea would be have this be a prequel series it picks up after bruce returns from his training (think year 1 mixed with Netflix's daredevil season 1) we see bruce go around in a proto bat suit and at the end of the season he gets the batsuit then treat each season after like it's own year with batman dealing with his rouges gallery and some of the batfamily joining (dick and Barbra and jason) at the end of the show have the killing joke and death in the family batman reaches his breaking point and then kills the joker.(nightwing would have left for bludhaven jason todd would have been killed by the joker, Jim Gordon would have retired to help look after Barbra after the killing joke, and bruce tries to keep being batman but after he beat up a petty criminal almost to death he realises he cant keep going as batman and needs to go on a journey to rediscover who batman is) tho that's just my idea

The network starts with Smallville. The story of the Kent family and young Clark. Last for ten seasons. That should have been the formula. WB cw did three series that took place in Gotham City with no Batman. all a waste and failures. They didn't stick with the formula. In the last attempt, Gotham knights they kill off the greatest superhero. Made Batman out to be a chump. The bosses at the network kept batwoman going for four shrinking seasons after it fell apart in the first. I am counting the first episodes of what was supposed to be The Flash last season. There's no way batwoman and GKs would work on the same network. Shows you how bad decisions making skills the cw bosses had.

I honestly doubt we'd ever get a Batman TV show , since we already have 3 big screen batmen and having one in a TV show wouldn't make sense. Another reason for this is probably cause WB doesn't want to give the CW "Batman" due to business rules and all that.
This is just my personal opinion but if WB and CW agreed to have the DCEU connected to the arrowverse both of them would probably be doing slightly better.

Batman should have been in Arrow Season 3 during the whole League of Asassins story arc and he should’ve been played by Karl Urban. Bruce would be an old friend of Oliver.
The league would also be attacking Gotham City, not just Star City so Oliver, Roy, Laurel and Diggle would follow the League of Asassins to Gotham and they would find out that the League is also attacking the Wayne Manor so the three would go in and help Bruce Wayne, but instead Bruce is simply kicking the Assassins asses like they were jokes (which they were to be honest, they were worse than Storm Troopers). Oliver would be quite shocked and confused at seeng his old friend kicking ass so easily. Oliver would use his robotic voice to talk to Bruce, but Bruce would smirk and say “I know it’s you… Oliver”. Roy, Laurel and Diggle would ask him how does he know that Oliver is the Green Arrow. Bruce would tell them everything he knows about Oliver. Oliver would ask him why the league was attacking him and Bruce would tell Team Arrow that he was trained by the League of Assassins and that he is Batman. Roy would make a joke like “yeah right, Batman is a myth” and he would activate a book shelf that would move and he would tell Team Arrow to follow him and everyone follows Bruce to the Batcave where Team Arrow sees multiple Batman Suits. The main suit being one that looks similar to the one from the Batman Live Britain show. Bruce asks Oliver why is he being chased by the League and Oliver would tell him he survived Ras Al Ghul’s sword in a battle and that now Ras wants him to become the heir to Ras Al Ghul. Bruce tells Oliver that he is also a heir to Ras and now he understands that Ras wants his two Heirs to fight to the death to become the next Ras Al Ghul. Oliver asks Bruce what’s the plan and Bruce says “if we are going to fight a League of Assassins, then we have to form a league of our own” and Batman brings in Dick Grayson who would be played by Steven McQueen from Vampire Diaries. Team Arrow and Team Batman are finally teaming up. I don’t know who would play Barbara, but she would also team up helping Felicity and Ray do hacking type of stuff. Eventually Oliver and Bruce face Ras in their suits and they barely defeat him together. Oliver stabs Ras and is about to deliver the final blow to Ras Al Ghul, but Bruce tells Oliver that killing Ras will only give him what he wants, a heir to Ras Al Ghul. Oliver drops the sword, but Ras grabs the sword and cuts his throat open killing himself. Oliver and Bruce look at Ras’s dead body and Oliver is then shot by the police and he falls down the dam. Bruce tries to catch him but Felicity appears in Ray’s suit saving Oliver’s life. At the end Team Batman and Team Arrow thank each other and they go their own ways and we would get a teaser of a Batman Spinoff

1-2 great, 3 was bad, 4 was terrible, first half of 5 was boring but the rest great however it still had Olicity, 6 was fine, 7 great in the first third or so, terrible rest, 8 was fUn but not Arrow anymore (outraging finale)
They dont get to use Batman. DC has done everything short of putting a press release out to explain that. Even the mentions and references were granted by special permission. You just need to read literally any interview with the producers.

Titans is also wasting their own Batman. Granted it’s different shows but at least Wayne shows up physically. Despite this, he hasn’t even suited up as Batman and only appeared as a dream sequence even before an actor was casted. Also Wayne just sits around and lets kids do his work. Either way both Batwoman and Titans have indeed wasted their potential for Batman and even the extended Bat Family.

Dude I had the same idea as you for the Arrowverse Batman, great minds think alike. And maybe in season 1 Jim Gordon gets out of retirement and becomes commissioner again, 2 we can see Nightwing which would be cool. And possibly Barbra Gordon, who was hinted in the Arrowverse as oracle, so maybe she could show up in either season 1, or 2 maybe 3 depending on the story. And this is just a wild idea out there could be a story arc about the Joker coming back, but there would be 3 Joker storyline from the comics as the arc for season 2, and I think Jason should become the new Joker, like maybe the fourth one. And it would be a similar story to how Tim became the Joker in Batman Beyond, but with Jason, and maybe another reason Batman killed the Joker is because he made Jason tell him all his secrets like that Bruce Wayne is the Batman, and so he killed him. What do you think of this pitch for a CW Batman series?
Oh yah and Harvey dents would be in this but he wouldn’t become Two-Face until season 3.
It's actually good that the CW doesn't get to use Batman since all they do in Batwoman is put him down to make Kate and Ryan look better. First by making him incompetent in not being able to save Beth and her and Kate's parents, then Kate stealing his stuff, accusing him of taking credit for her work when it was the other way around, having Kevin Conroy's first live action Batman be an evil alternate universe version just to make Kate killing him look heroic, having Jacob blame Batman for the existences of Joker and Alice and so on. Back in the 90's the Batman the Animated Series episode Trial proved the "Batman creates his villains" belief some people have wrong.

They've always given live-action TV shows more freedom in regards to Superman. He's got that old Lois and Clark TV show, Smallville, and the current show. How many Batman shows have we gotten since Adam West's time? Exactly, none. There was Gotham but that wasn't exactly a Batman show. It was a prequel mostly starring Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon and Batman only really showed up in the finale. Supergirl faced some Superman limitations back in season one where they could only use him as a cameo-character where they only showed glimpses of him and avoid showing his face and his front (usually how Batman is portrayed in these shows) but even that didn't last. He got to show up as an actual character on the following seasons and even got his own show. Batman doesn't get that because WB won't let TV shows use him. I don't like most CW shows and i criticize them for a lot of things, but the lack of Batman in their shows certanly isn't their fault.

While Gotham Knights is likely to dash these plans since it is planned for The CW and doesn't seem like it would be set in the same universe, it would be nice to basically soft reboot the Gotham storyline. Get rid of the current writers and bring in a new team, and bring in more Bat-characters to the cast, such as a new Robin, Spoiler (whom we've already met), and maybe another. Either have them as a vehicle to find and bring back Bruce Wayne, or have them fill in for Team Batwoman (either create a problem that takes them away from Gotham for a while or put them in a tough spot that the new guys have to save them from, and thereby join forces), and actually actively look into the mystery of Batman's disappearance and finally find him either at the end of the first season or beginning of the second. Bring back big Batman villains (who are still alive) or introduce still-comic-based but less-tightly-leashed adversaries who can carry a season or a few arcs of a season. Probably retcon or shrug aside a bunch of things such as Mary's behavior (if she's kept around) and whatever that sequel hook for the end of the third season was supposed to be (didn't watch that season; only watched the Thorias Unlimited reviews).
WB, please drop this dumb embargo, especially since you haven't made half of your slate. We can accept different versions of the same character in different universes. No one would have asked "Why is Deadshot black now?" I'm sure people could figure it out in 2004, too. Heck, Brandon Routh's character was supposed to be Blue Beetle if it wasn't for the restrictions, but now he's left the Arrowverse almost entirely and the movie BB is supposed to be in is no closer. (Plus, Booster Gold is in the Arrowverse now, so...)
Any direction that Gotham takes would be a vast improvement under a superior writing team. It would be a stretch to say that one could even salvage Batwoman, but I doubt it would be impossible.

So much for Caroline Dries (the "genius" behind the Batwoman show) saying that she "loves and understands" the character of Kate.
If she really did, she wouldn't replace her with an OC, she'll do the recast right after Ruby left and continue the show like if nothing happened.
@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 exactly and not only that but back during season 2 after it was announced that Wallace Day would be taking over as Kate, Wallace said that they reached out to her about playing Kate before season 2 began and then decided to go a different direction and they reached out again a few months later after season 2 had begun
Honestly, one of the reasons why The Batman works so well is that it GETS who Batman is supposed to be: Not a dark, brooding vigilante who beats the snot out of criminals (Although he DEFINITELY is that), but a hero who brings hope to the hopeless in Gotham city. Heck, the ending scene with him leading the people of Gotham out of darkness into the light of day is AMAZING. It solidifies Batman as the hero Gotham needs, not the one it deserves, which is what he's been through most of the movie. And even better, it manages to show Batman is a hero through his ACTIONS, not just his words, which is a BIG problem with a LOT of CW shows: They *tell* instead of *showing*.
If anything, I think The Batman was basically a middle finger to the recent portrayals of the character, as well as a middle finger to the CW for constantly taking shots at him.
I have barely any love for the Arrowverse after the failed Crisis but I think it’s asking too much for Batman or WW. Remember, they can’t use the JL characters. They couldn’t use much of the main three. Superman got a pass due to Smallville. CW had rights with the Flash but they couldn’t bring in the JL. I genuinely believe that if they did, they’d do what you’d suggested but they couldn’t. It’s not that they wouldn’t. You could instead of Batwoman do a Nightwing or Outlaws show, hell a Gotham Knights with Nightwing, Tim, Oracle, Cassandra and Jason. Asking for a Batman show when the CW had power struggles with him is bit too much and realistically impossible to happen. So I wouldn’t say he’s wasted but just couldn’t use so they decided to reference and bring mentions of him.
With the rumours of Jensen ackles apparently could be playing cw batman I hope they just do another retcon, we’ve had so many of them I don’t think it would matter, I think Jensen is a pretty good choice too, his animated performances have always been top tier, if they do what they did with superman and Lois and give it hbo funding and good writers it could be a great thing

Honestly the problem goes way beyond batman though. It genuinely triggers me how they basically debuted justice league at the end of crisis on infinite earths and then proceeded to do nothing with it. The closest thing we’ve gotten to a crossover since then was armaggeddon and that totally doesnt count. It would not be that difficult to make a few justice league mini series rather than putting the crossovers in everyone’s individual shows
A Batman series would work so well. I don’t know why they always want to cram everything into a movie. He has so many Villains. Sidekicks. Storylines. Etc. Closest thing we gotten to one was Gotham.
