Queer Open Mic Features: DJ Jamz

Welcome to Queer Open Mic! We are excited for another month of supporting and celebrating Queer talent. Our latest show features DJ JAMZ, a Black, queer, gender non-conforming (GNC) DJ and event producer who envisions the dancefloor as a space for embodied liberation, resistance, expression, and play for Black and brown queer and trans individuals. Her most celebrated series, "Watermelon Glow," is an outdoor sunset party that invites queer and trans people of color (QTPOC) into a romantic utopian oasis where everyone feels like a VIP, and the cherished souvenirs are freedom and belonging. DJ JAMZ connects diverse cultures to create a fluid musical narrative, drawing on influences from African, Caribbean, House, and Soul music. Join us as we explore DJ JAMZ's cultural shock of diversity and inclusion. Stay tuned for her DJ performance set, followed by a doubleheader of "Would You Rather?" and "Two Truths and a Lie"!
