Damn, this song gives you the fucking feels! (along with the chills) That's the Genocide route, just in InFamous, Zeke is just Flowey. Kuo is pretty much Sans, though it's pretty easy to take her out.
Kinda funny how Zeke went from this character everyone hated in infamous 1 cos they found him whiny, annoying and a backstabbing prick, to a character people really liked and felt genuinely upset for his death. Just shows Sucker Punch really improved their writing for him and did a great job
ok, sudden realisation: zeke, good ending: "i love you brother, and i sure am gonna miss ya" delsin, good ending: "i love you brother, and i sure am gonna miss ya" these sneaky bastards ;-;

Zeke Dunbar and Cole MacGrath. Probably the bravest video game characters I've ever known. It's one thing to risk your life for what you believe in. It's another to knowingly lose your life for it. Cole gave his life for humanity in the good ending. Zeke failed, sure, but he tried to save humanity even knowing that he'd most definitely die and fail. As Zeke said in the Good Karma ending: No one is more human than Cole MacGrath.
this is still in the top 3 games I've ever played because of the characters, without likeable characters you can't really do much to the players emotions
That’s what I love so much about Infamous: just how human everyone is, even those with powers. You’re not some alien from a distant planet, a warrior princess from a magical island, an inhumanily smart and strong man with infinite resources. You’re just a courier, who one day was suddenly able to shoot lightning out of his hands, but still as flawed and still quite mortal.
Fun fact: the evil ending was the intended true ending, but due to most fans preferring to be "good" they had to make the good ending the true one, despite all of the narrative hints meant to allude to the evil ending being the one that Cole would've personally chosen. And for those wondering why, it's quite simple: Cole's whole struggle is a fight with his destiny, to either conform to what everyone wants him to be or be his own man. Are all of his choices the most moral? No, but they're his to make, and he doesn't want anyone to take away his freedom. Couple that with a healthy fear of death and hints that conduits might be better suited for the world than normal humans, and you've got yourself a recipe for the evil ending.
I mean, he surely was hesitant with the way he said "John's method had fundaments" and all that shit. If he was ready to sacrifice himself that cinematic would have gone totally different.

they couldnt have made it a cutscene. they made you press R1 three times. you had to feel the pain of killing your best friend. Sucker Punch really knows how to hit that soft spot of people
This was such a sad scene... I play games where people die horribly at my hands pretty much every day, but it still hurt me each time I pressed that damn button...
Fun fact: the evil ending was supposed to be the canonical ending but because most people did the good ending. They ended up marking the good ending canon. Also before you go to argue in the comments. Please take the time to actually look it up. It’s really interesting
If people say that the good ending can’t be canon cause of the conduits going extinct then they forget it’s a gene and seemingly anyone can get it. So conduits can exist after the good ending their just not going to be common. And it doesn’t seem hereditary sense Nix’s family died in the ray sphere blast but she didn’t so there goes that
When I got to this boss 4 years, I literally just sat there for like 2 hours, shocked snd emotionally broken. I couldn't bring myself to press R1. Sucker Punch made me kill my best friend. I just wanted to blow up cars lol! (Crying inside)
Killing zeke was the hardest/difficult thing to do,out of sasha, kessler, alden, the beast and all those bosses,Zeke's was the hardest :( RIP Zeke and Cole :')
The song actually tells the tale. The agonizing violin in the background just speaks about how they both respect eachother but Cole has no choice but to move forward at this point, betrayal or not. Probably the hardest and saddest boss fight in history of gaming. Ornstein and smough in second place.
I still play Infamous 1 and 2 on a regular basis, both games still hold up really well I usually play through the Good Karma storyline though, I always find Infamous 2 to be bittersweet knowing that Cole dies in the end
Thanks for making this vid. I could not find this song. And the ending was sad as hell. Really puts a meaning to the phrase, "Die a hero, or live to become a villain."
In a way, Evil Cole in Infamous 2 is more like Anti-hero Cole for a few reasons 1: before the revelation of the RFI killing all Conduits, Cole wanted to kill The Beast, although he went about that goal in more ruthless ways 2: When Cole is at Outlaw and Infamous tank, he wears a white shirt underneath his other shirts that he wears at Outlaw and Infamous. The only white shirt that Cole wears is at Hero rank. I think the combinations of the shirt show that he has good intentions, but is ruthless 3: the evil ending is very morally ambiguous because no matter what, Cole is sacrificing one to save the other, so Cole doesn’t really live long enough to be a villain. More like a very fucked up hero, like Kessler
@@theholyknight. like I said, he follows in Kessler’s footsteps when it comes to being a fucked up hero. Except Kessler did those awful things out of necessity to make Cole strong
When it told me to press R1 and I shot zeke with a lightning bolt........I instantly became sad because I knew this ment I needed to kill zeke to progress in the game........I liked zeke............a lot.....and either cole dies in the good ending or zeke dies in the evil........
What i did i did th good ending first by the way is when it told me to shoot zeke i just quit the game and said zeke shot cole's heart and cole was permantly put in a coma
The one choice of the devs that I admired endlessly: that it took three shots. The break inbetween, watching Zeke struggle to stand up, then stay on one knee... it was heart-breaking. There wouldn't have been the same impact if he went down immediately. I just beat it on hard and damn, the trophy name is so fitting right now... those last scenes hurt... But the track is still one of my favourites.
I like how in this game the evil ending is actually justified to a certain amount, with no actual evidence that the RFI would cure the plague, while John's plan has been shown to work, and though the RFI would cure the plague they didn't know that, so it's less of the evil option, and instead the safe option I guess in the character's perspective, ensuring some human survival, even if the rest have to die, whereas the good ending is the risky one, sacrificing tons of conduits to possibly cure a worldwide plague, with no absolute evidence of it working. either way it's a just option, even if you were good the entire game the evil ending still works, same if you were evil and decide to do the good ending.
From NateFox's comments on Eurogamer of originally intending for Cole to live via the Evil Ending of inFAMOUS 2 (& citing nothing else on the matter for it being either Evil Cole or Good Cole) until Sucker Punch observed how many people were doing the Good Ending instead, it's very much possible that the former option was originally intended for inFAMOUS 3 before it evolved into Second Son. Even more so considering how siding with The Beast got foreshadowed in the ending for inFAMOUS 1 (Even more damning as Cole/John during the Power Transfer make the same expression The Beast makes during the last vision Kessler gives Cole), or how Cole has that one dream in the interquel comics involving Kessler where he pushes himself to make the call involving the least risk involved given the lives at stake (both of course being ironic given Kessler's entire motto was just making his past self into a being that could take on The Beast). If you ask me personally, I think that Kessler's Timeline itself was also part of some kind of Casual Loop Paradox with Good Cole as The Beast. My only real major evidence towards it being the presence of ice powers that would imply that The Beast is capable of cryokinesis, which in turn implies that this was the same Cole that had power swapped with Kuo. I dunno, this might all just be insane rambling as is. I'm more curious about what exactly would be the part that would lead to Beast Cole ending up in Kessler's timeline (Not that it's impossible per say, having the powers of The Beast would give Cole a rate of growth Kessler could never hope to have).
@@TheSoCalledZoner1 For the Evil Ending being the canon ending for inFAMOUS 3: "I wrote the evil ending of the game to be the continuation," Fox told Eurogamer. But, "we looked at player trophies on PSN for inFamous 2... 78 per cent of people decided to sacrifice Cole, so we said, alright, these are the votes." For The Beast being Good Cole? It's conjecture (Such as the Beast oddly wielding ice powers for some inexplicable reason) largely built on headcanon. That alone makes me think that inFAMOUS 3 could've ended the series by going full circle, with Cole having been responsible for ravaging Kessler's timeline who in turn travels back in time to mold Cole into the hero he couldn't be, only for the cycle to repeat ad infinitum.
Noticed how the more bad things Cole did, the more his posture changed? The more pale his skin became? He was killing the human within him. He was becoming the one he feared the most. The Beast.
Also SP intended to make the next inFAMOUS game after inFAMOUS 2 based on the evil/bad karma ending but guess what, they decided to cancel production because a lot of people played for the good ending. Then there is people like me who did both, but don't get a fucking say I did the evil ending FIRST, because idk.
I remember i used to listen to this song on repeat driving to Tafe in 2013. i even commented on here, i can't believe how long its been. I turned 27 today, and i was 18/19 when i was playing this on repeat. Just thought of it now out of the blue. Time really is amazing and underrated. We SHOULD NOT take it for granted!
The Evil Ending was at one point gonna he the canonical ending. But due to the fact that more players played as Good, they changed it to make the Good ending canon. While I think it would’ve been heartbreaking to know that Cole killed his best friend Zeke, I think it would’ve helped InFamous Second Son. Hell they could’ve had Cole as the main antagonist while either Delsin helps to defeat him and bring back a new age of humanity and conduits living amongst each other, or he could join Cole to destroy humanity even further and living in a world where conduits only live. It could’ve been like some Prototype 2 thing where Alex Mercer was the main antagonist of that game while he was the main protagonists of the first Prototype game.
I like to think that Cole's price of moving forward to raise new conduits also just meant the erase of his past. Trish, Empire City and now Zeke, gone.
Bruh. This scene legit made me tear up when I played this game for the first time in the 8th grade. And to this day it makes me sad. I hate that Cole is canonically dead, but Man would this have been a bleak Canon.
Recently I lost very important person for me and I can’t just stop thinking how this song resonate that feeling. Changing world, selfishness and betrayal. And then this moment. The last talk, when I just get shoot and left behind like I was no one. “It appears it’s impossible to be the way it was” “I know, but it doesn’t have to be” “I’m afraid it will never be” “Come on, we can start it again. Why won’t you just let it go? You are really going to left it all die just because of stupid misunderstanding?” “It appears so” “So this is how it ends? Just run and left me like I was nothing? Like nothing ever happened? You’re even bigger coward than me.” “I’m sorry, but its just to much” “You never tried.” “I know.” We known each other’s from kid. And I was just left. Alone. On that forsaken street, the same place where it all began. But this time instead of morning, it was sun set. Beautiful sunset, right before very long and lonely night. Followed by thunderstorm. Just like in game…
I remember my first time doing this. My only time doing this. I got to that part. I said "No... No, I can't..." I hated the game for this. I was hesitant. I slowly, hesitantly pressed R1.
I Love how since the first 5 minutes of the game, you feel a connection with cole, no matter if you haven't played infamous before, this is one of the best characters in gaming ever, only a very few characters make you feel like you are with them no matter if they are evil or good, to me, only Lee Everet (From TWD), Marcus (From GOW), Cole McGrath and Half of all the characters in bioshock are the best characters in gaming by how they move you to feel sorrow (Batman from Arkham city too)
man killing zeke in the evil ending was one of the hardest things I had to do in that game... oh good times were those yeah never gonna forget ya cole...
i cried that night.the whole time i went down the evil path i figured i was just doing things more chaoticly, but then at the end,i thought," aww man i gotta kill nix?" then after that when cole turned around and zeke was pointing the gun... i just thought "NO.no you are not making me kill my best friend for this whole journey, come on.stop it! NO WAY! ill take it all back just dont make me kill HIM!"
Imagine this as 2nd sons beginning. Before the game starts, you're presented with a question that would only make sense if you played inFAMOUS 2. "Would you rather live Half as long, or shine Twice as bright?" Your answer determines what ending you follow.
Zeke: "I don't you brother because I like the way that's sounds"...."I call you brother because you had my back longer then I remember Im sorry things are like this but I can't change the past and you can change the future".... "Goodbye Cole"
Kanny Boy I'm not denying that Sly was cool, but I always enjoyed playing as Cole MacGrath a lot more than Sly. Probably because I always played Metal Gear Solid and thought he was the definition of stealth. But Cole was awesome. And the newcomer was a douche. But Cole was a man who can choose to be evil or good at his fingertips. Literally; with his powers
I realized cole didint shoot zeke because you cant attack an unharmed person and it would be considered unworthy and cole would shoot zeke only when he pointed the revolver at him. 😢
I think instead of Second Son, we should've gotten an InFamous 3 that follows the Evil End of InFamous 2, where the ONLY path is Good, you start as Infamous rank, and Cole has to live with the guilt of killing Zeke, which persuades him to try and redeem himself.
@@theholyknight. Fair But I feel it would kinda be boring if an inFAMOUS 3 came out and there's barely anyone around, and everyone you fought was a conduit.

This was such a sad scene... I play games where people die horribly at my hands pretty much every day, but it still hurt me each time I pressed that damn button...
its been 7 years since. yes, it *still* hurts each time i listen to this song.
@@widekenobi22 to this day as well?
@@theholyknight. yep....... to this day
@@theholyknight. Its emotional damage for life, but one worth recieving.
Fun fact: the evil ending was supposed to be the canonical ending but because most people did the good ending. They ended up marking the good ending canon.
Also before you go to argue in the comments. Please take the time to actually look it up. It’s really interesting
Ayyy someone else who knows the lore behind the game!
You've prevented an argument by telling people not to argue! Wow modern problems require modern solutions you're like a hero or something
(Crying inside)
no game will ever deliver this emotion in a hundred years infamous 2 remake
Oh yes lol. And anyone with save data or trophy data should get it free lol.
same here I didn't want to kill zeke
i h8 that it wants you to kill zeke instead of the milita. im fine killing kou or nix but Zeke dumbar no
"Half as long...."
"Twice as bright"
"I gotta try"

Killing zeke was the hardest/difficult thing to do,out of sasha, kessler, alden, the beast and all those bosses,Zeke's was the hardest :( RIP Zeke and Cole :')
Yup
nix?
The song actually tells the tale. The agonizing violin in the background just speaks about how they both respect eachother but Cole has no choice but to move forward at this point, betrayal or not. Probably the hardest and saddest boss fight in history of gaming. Ornstein and smough in second place.
I intentionally lost to Zeke the first time I played through the Evil Campaign
Is it possible?
+GmaerXQ Only if you're playing on Hard difficulty. He was fully capable of shooting me after about 10 shots
I literally turned of my PS3
Wait...THAT CAN HAPPEN? DAMN YOU, NOW I HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME AGAIN TO SEE THIS!! FOR THE 7,99,114,6TH TIME!! ON HARD MODE!!
Meh to I can’t kill him
Good Ending: Sad but touching.
Evil Ending: Just plain depressing.
R.I.P Zeke, we'll miss you brother.

Moo Money oh yea same for me
I still play Infamous 1 and 2 on a regular basis, both games still hold up really well I usually play through the Good Karma storyline though, I always find Infamous 2 to be bittersweet knowing that Cole dies in the end
it was my childhood man
"Half as long..."
"...Twice as bright. I gotta try."
"I know."
Damn, these lines alone sent shivers down my spine.
Thanks for making this vid. I could not find this song. And the ending was sad as hell. Really puts a meaning to the phrase, "Die a hero, or live to become a villain."
In a way, Evil Cole in Infamous 2 is more like Anti-hero Cole for a few reasons
1: before the revelation of the RFI killing all Conduits, Cole wanted to kill The Beast, although he went about that goal in more ruthless ways
2: When Cole is at Outlaw and Infamous tank, he wears a white shirt underneath his other shirts that he wears at Outlaw and Infamous. The only white shirt that Cole wears is at Hero rank. I think the combinations of the shirt show that he has good intentions, but is ruthless
3: the evil ending is very morally ambiguous because no matter what, Cole is sacrificing one to save the other, so Cole doesn’t really live long enough to be a villain. More like a very fucked up hero, like Kessler
@@creativeguy1martinez693 yes
@@theholyknight. like I said, he follows in Kessler’s footsteps when it comes to being a fucked up hero. Except Kessler did those awful things out of necessity to make Cole strong
It's not possible to hear this without crying, I don't think I could ever bring myself to play the Evil path twice.
Agree that very much
Yea
When it told me to press R1 and I shot zeke with a lightning bolt........I instantly became sad because I knew this ment I needed to kill zeke to progress in the game........I liked zeke............a lot.....and either cole dies in the good ending or zeke dies in the evil........
What i did i did th good ending first by the way is when it told me to shoot zeke i just quit the game and said zeke shot cole's heart and cole was permantly put in a coma
@@bisharoalan6527 let him go
The one choice of the devs that I admired endlessly: that it took three shots.
Wheres your guys proof
@@TheSoCalledZoner1
For the Evil Ending being the canon ending for inFAMOUS 3:
"I wrote the evil ending of the game to be the continuation," Fox told Eurogamer. But, "we looked at player trophies on PSN for inFamous 2... 78 per cent of people decided to sacrifice Cole, so we said, alright, these are the votes."
For The Beast being Good Cole? It's conjecture (Such as the Beast oddly wielding ice powers for some inexplicable reason) largely built on headcanon. That alone makes me think that inFAMOUS 3 could've ended the series by going full circle, with Cole having been responsible for ravaging Kessler's timeline who in turn travels back in time to mold Cole into the hero he couldn't be, only for the cycle to repeat ad infinitum.
Noticed how the more bad things Cole did, the more his posture changed? The more pale his skin became? He was killing the human within him. He was becoming the one he feared the most. The Beast.
SPOILER ALERT
Both endings are so sad, either Zeke dies or Cole dies. :'(
+dawson cole true so call it an anime but not japenese ;)
yes ;( and this sad music in the background
Nix dies in both endings. Her death is inevitable
God dammit Sucker Punch I hate you but I love you because that is great story writing!
First time I ever cried at a video game. Hurts more knowing this was the intended canon ending.
Many years later and this still makes me cry

I turned 27 today, and i was 18/19 when i was playing this on repeat. Just thought of it now out of the blue. Time really is amazing and underrated. We SHOULD NOT take it for granted!
i wonder if a platinum... worth the sadness that i felt in that moment..
I am not sarcasm Zeke is the hardest boss in the entire gaming history
I WENT TO CRY IN BED AFTER THIS,I JUST WANTED TO TRY OUT BEING EVIL....

SO FUCKING TRUE MAN I FELT SO DEPRESSED HONESTLY
It's really sad but Mother 3 is like 3 times sadder though

I like to think that Cole's price of moving forward to raise new conduits also just meant the erase of his past. Trish, Empire City and now Zeke, gone.
"I love you brother and I'm sure gonna miss you"
Bruh. This scene legit made me tear up when I played this game for the first time in the 8th grade.
And to this day it makes me sad.
I hate that Cole is canonically dead, but Man would this have been a bleak Canon.

I remember feeling empty after fighting Zeke. Cause I lost a friend...by my hand.
Recently I lost very important person for me and I can’t just stop thinking how this song resonate that feeling.
Changing world, selfishness and betrayal. And then this moment. The last talk, when I just get shoot and left behind like I was no one.
“It appears it’s impossible to be the way it was”
“I know, but it doesn’t have to be”
“I’m afraid it will never be”
“Come on, we can start it again. Why won’t you just let it go? You are really going to left it all die just because of stupid misunderstanding?”
“It appears so”
“So this is how it ends? Just run and left me like I was nothing? Like nothing ever happened? You’re even bigger coward than me.”
“I’m sorry, but its just to much”
“You never tried.”
“I know.”
We known each other’s from kid. And I was just left. Alone. On that forsaken street, the same place where it all began. But this time instead of morning, it was sun set. Beautiful sunset, right before very long and lonely night. Followed by thunderstorm. Just like in game…

These songs are legendary and the vide long ago was real i sure miss those days
0:33 Play this at my funeral.
i cried that night.the whole time i went down the evil path i figured i was just doing things more chaoticly, but then at the end,i thought," aww man i gotta kill nix?" then after that when cole turned around and zeke was pointing the gun... i just thought "NO.no you are not making me kill my best friend for this whole journey, come on.stop it! NO WAY! ill take it all back just dont make me kill HIM!"
I felt my heart crying in this moment of death

Zeke: Twice as Bright...
Zeke: I gotta try.
Cole: I know.
At least he's alive in Infamous: Second Son
_He had to try._
_We knew._
I couldn't do it, I couldn't find myself pressing R1. I couldn't live with myself
Imagine this as 2nd sons beginning.
Before the game starts, you're presented with a question that would only make sense if you played inFAMOUS 2. "Would you rather live Half as long, or shine Twice as bright?"
Your answer determines what ending you follow.
Zeke:I've got to try
Cole:I know...
My heart sank when i heard them say that
Zeke: "I don't you brother because I like the way that's sounds"...."I call you brother because you had my back longer then I remember Im sorry things are like this but I can't change the past and you can change the future".... "Goodbye Cole"
Sucker Punch's mascot/posterboy shall always be Cole MacGrath
No, that's Sly without a doubt.
+Kanny Boy agreed
Kanny Boy I'm not denying that Sly was cool, but I always enjoyed playing as Cole MacGrath a lot more than Sly. Probably because I always played Metal Gear Solid and thought he was the definition of stealth. But Cole was awesome. And the newcomer was a douche. But Cole was a man who can choose to be evil or good at his fingertips. Literally; with his powers
"Half as long.."
"Twice as bright.."

beast : cole I cant do this anymore.
Cole:SON OF A...
I need this game back.
"what do you get after you get your revengeance? Nothing, you will be just left alone..." rest in peace zake.
That would be cool but wouldn't that just make the events of the evil ending in infamous 2 pointless?
