I had a hard time leaving Canada for France being an only child, I couldn't conecte with the French family who would talk of me as the north American as they still do 35 years after, it's annoying 😊.. I thought your son was finally staying Thai but that's life and I'm sure he'll be try to see family as much as possible (it's still tuff for me anyways).. And of course burgers and pizza always makes me feel north American.. That's life

A hint is the word "breaking" and it usually applies to a love relationship coming to an end, such as marriage partners splitting up. After hearing your explanation I know what you meant, but a better choice would be "moving apart". Just saying.
