I really enjoy booktubers that don't only read one specific genre because that is exactly how my reading taste is. Personally, people who consistently read and review different genres are my favorite to watch.
We all go through changes in our reading. I enjoy your videos because you have such a eclectic taste. I personally prefer booktubers like you who read a little of everything. 💕
As a mood reader myself, you’re one of my fave booktubers to watch because you are multi-genre. Even though we don’t read all of the same things, there is a good amount of crossover and I’m always interested to hear your thoughts even if I’m not interested in the book. Also, you’ve inspired me to read some things I never thought I would! I totally get feeling like you don’t have a “place,” but honestly the fact that you just read what you want is more realistic and proves you’re still reading for fun and not just for content. 😊
I've honestly never thought of you as a romance-specific booktuber, simply a wonderful booktuber, so I am never disappointed by what you read/rec. I am picking up bloom and b&b right now!
I discovered you through your romance book videos a few years ago and even though I mostly read romance, I still love watching your videos about other genres. And whenever I’m in the mood for a mystery or thriller I check out one of your recommendations and have loved all of them so far. You make books I would probably never know about otherwise sound so good and interesting that it inspires me to broaden my reading horizon.
it's refreshing to watch people who read a little bit of everything imo. I can get a lot of recs from one person and that's always nice since I also read a little bit of everything too
I used to think of you only as a romance booktuber when I found you. And even as someone who is not a romance reader I still enjoyed all your videos. Now I feel like the mix of books on your UA-cam is similar to how I read and I enjoy the mix you share. Although I assume I’d still watch no matter what you read and reviewed.
Certain booktubers have a special way of speaking about books, regardless of genre, that make them compulsively watchable. Some of them for me are Meg with books, Books and Lala, and you. I don't read Mystery or Horrror books, but I love to listen to them speak about them.
As a viewer I just see you as a diverse reader and I like that alot. Mostly bc I am one too lol. And I like listening to you talk about books bc your taste is different from mine.
i've always enjoyed your fantasy, thriller, and horror content but i have never really thought of you as a specific-genre booktuber and i love that. i can just scroll thru your page and pick whatever im in the mood for!
I consider the Veronica Speedwell series to be cosy mysteries! I don’t know if that’s right, but they feel really cosy to me! (Thank you for the rec btw!! I’m obsessed)
I enjoy any type of Booktuber because I read a little bit of everything and even if I don't read it I still love hearing someone talk about any book and I follow horrortubers so I can let my sister know about what's new and popular that I think she'd love.
Re: Identity crisis and fitting in a specific booktube box, I gravitated towards your channel SPECIFICALLY because you don't read a specific genre every time! I love that I can watch a video from you and get a fantasy/romance/horror recommendation!
As someone who enjoys all the genres you read a lot of, I just think of your channel as a one stop shop, where I know I will learn about all sorts of books that will interest meyour taste is so similar to mine that your one of the few booktubers that even if it’s totally different from my usual interest I would trust your book rec and also love the vibes. Other channels I will only go to when I’m craving a specific genre or because they have a nice personality
Super happy to be spoiled for My Lovely Wife. I would never had read that book, but I did wonder... So getting the "incredulous Riley (y'all tricked me into reading a book about a man?!)" review is perfect!!
I watch the videos I do from you because of you - your personality. I’m not someone who watches booktubers based off the genre they read most, I watch the people who I like the personality of and who read widely like I do 😊
I feel like i've been following you for so long I don't really think of you as a particular 'type' of booktuber, but I totally see what you mean. Right now I definitely like how you get me interested in thriller/mysteries and horror books because I used to read almost solely literary fiction and have been branching out more in the last year or two. I actually have 2 books on my TBR right now that I would credit you for influencing me on.
I almost exclusively read fantasy but I enjoy watching all types of booktubers for the personality, not because I’ll necessarily like what you like. I’ll never have enough time to read all the books I’m recommended 😂 so I just enjoy hearing you talk!
totally understand not feeling like you fit in one category. I'm over here reading like "most messed up book you've ever read" to "adorable m/m romance manga" to "fantasy horror" to "weird science fiction that no one else likes" and back to "wholesome romance"😂 I honestly feel like this has been one of the best reading years I've seen you have tho from a watcher perspective, loving it
I love that you read a bunch of different genres! I am the same way - though more heavy on the Horror and zero Romance LOL. In addition to Horror, I also read Sci-Fi, Thriller, Fantasy, Adventure, Classics, Non-Fic, Fairytales, some Lit-Fic, Poetry, Manga... 😄
this video came at the perfect time. I am also in a reading slump and you really sold me on reading “The Patient” and “Bloom.” I am so excited for both of those! 💜
Thursday Murder Club! I love cozy mystery and would classify the genre as low stakes with no explicit language, spice, or gore and are typically more contemporary. I think you’d love the Lady Hardcastle series too
Ahhh I’m so late to this video, but I’m so excited for Bloom after hearing you talk about it! Sounds like something I definitely need to read soon 😍 also I’m so glad you loved The Patient too, that book was a five star for me too, so great! 😍👏
Omg more books added to my tbr ❤ I already had Bloom there because I follow you on goodreads. Also I remember following you because of an outtake clip from years ago that I saw on Twitter. I wasn't into romance books at all but I still watched your videos and you were the first booktuber I decided to sub too. It has been such an enriching experience and I love your fantasy and horror reads. We all have our genres and I'm hoping you feel good and find your place in the community again 😢😢😢😢
So I’m a romance booktuber, I’ve been watching your content for a few years. And I look at you as a omnivore booktuber lol. I know you don’t read primarily romance, but it’ll be dabbled in with the other genres. And actually many of my favorite booktubers fit into that category. ♥️♥️♥️
I’m normally a silent viewer but I really feel the need to recommend the cozy mysteries Magic, Lies and Deadly Pies and A Good Day To Pie. They have the same great British bake off vibes but with murder and a bit of magic. I think you’ll enjoy them!💌
As someone who started following you bc of your romance recs & I do not read horror like at all, I continue to watch you because I just love your vibe, your content & how you just explain your thoughts on books & as a mood reader myself I love booktubers that read a wide variety of genres even if its books i will never read lol
I really liked the maid definitely a mystery and the main character is so cute! Also really loved the patient super underrated. That’s funny because I’ve followed you about a year ago for your horror, thriller reviews🖤
I read Feel The Bern recently which I would call a cozy mystery, but it also features Bernie Sanders as a main character and it was just all around fantastic
Ok! I really enjoyed this video and got so many recommendations! I was waiting to see what someone thought of The Golden Spoon and I’m glad I saw this, because now I’ll go into it knowing it’s not a murder mystery. I personally loved The Murder of Mr. Wickham and would definitely classify it as cozy mystery, and if you like Jane Austen I think you’ll love it!
Omg. If you enjoyed Butcher & Blackbird, then you have to try Black Sheep. That is the book that I think fans of the mind f*ck series would love. I’m obsessed with Brynne Weaver. Her writing is stabulous.
Soon as I saw Bloom was written by Delilah S. Dawson I said say less and slam dunked it onto my tbr 😂 I've read and loved 3 of her Star Wars books so I'm excited to try something in a new setting from her.
I have been watching you since the Fallen Kingdoms times, and I do not like romance, so you reading less romance books is actually good for me personally. :D I have always stayed here because your videos just give such cosy vibes and I can relax watching them. So in my opinion, you can talk about cookbooks and I'll be here. :D But I prefer horror and fantasy recs.
28:29 I perceive you as "Riley, my favourite booktuber, whom I trust blindly" When you love a book it's not on my wanting-list but immediately on my buying-list. I don't even need a synopsis. Happened with Project Hail Mary for example and is now one of my favourite books ever. Right now Still Beating is on my tbr and I actually do this a lot with your recs by now. These two aren't the only books but the first two I can think of lol edit: Oh, I have Every Hearts a Door Away (or how its called. See? I sometimes dont even remember the titles lol) waiting on my tbr atm too!! There are actually more than I can even think of waiting for me but one (I think) you mentioned before was Daughter of the Pirate King which I read and really love now too. You are just so good at describing a book and its vibes ✨
Totally agree that the synopsis doesn’t help The Golden Spoon at all! People expected something more thriller-like when it’s just lightly mysterious until later in the book. They advertised it incorrectly IMO but I still loved it lol
I'm really feeling your not being totally into romance right now and feeling slightly confused or disconnected about it. I love romance! But have been in SUCH a thriller mood
In the Company of Witches was a 3 🌟 Thursday Murder Club books are cozy plus. I have Shady Hollow, but haven't read it yet. I can deal with cute. Veronica Speedwell series is cozy plus too.
Butchee and blackbird reminds me of the banter on the Undertaking of Hart and Mercy I also think you are my favorite youtube for bad ass female or funny female recs
Can agree that The Maid, A Most Agreeable Murder and Dial A for Aunties are all cozy mysteries, my favorite so far has been Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers (same author as Dial A for Aunties, and far better in my opinion!)
I'm one of those that found you for the romance videos, but I'm here to stay! I love watching any video you make honestly. That being said, I'm hoping for an updated best magical and supernatural books video. Or if anyone has suggestions I'm looking for witchy magical books 📚
I don't think you need to fit into a specific genre! I love that you read so many genres! I do too, I jump around all the time, I think that's very normal
Bloom has been on my most anticipated releases list but didn't buy it yet since I wanted to know if it's actually good and hearing you loved it so much I'm going to order it RIGHT NOW

Butcher & Blackbird was top tier I loved so much 5 million ⭐️ but you have me wanting to read Bloom so idk how you’re so good at persuading us to read things out of our comfort zone lmao 😂
I tend to hardly read horror but you really made me want to read bloom. Well I just finished it today and I am ☠️. I was literally reading it on my phone at work I was so desperate to know what happened!
I have a tiny Booktube channel but I totally get it because I like to read all genres. My channel started out as Fantasy and now I feel bad when I read everything but Fantasy.😂
As someone who is autistic and has autistic friends, The Maid is one of the most offensive and worst books I read in 2022. I absolutely hated it. I know that the majority of people really love it, but the rep was so infantilizing and internally inconsistent and it fills me with so much rage.
Came to the comments to say this exact thing! Not autistic myself but got MAJOR icky vibes from the way the main character was portrayed. I wish I could take back the 9hrs I spent listening to that book!
Dial A for Auntie is cute and fun for 90%. CW for attempted date r*pe though. The first few chapters could be pretty rough if that’s something you’re sensitive to
I mostly read Fantasy but The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman is a cozy mystery series that's now in my top series of all time list. The first book is good and fun, but the found family and humor really kicks off in the second book and the last book that just came out made me sob for twenty minutes straight (for reference, I have never done more than tear up a little at a book before). I also really enjoyed Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers which has an excellent audiobook. Lots of found family but also really diverse S & SE Asian rep. It's the same author as Dial A for Aunties (but I haven't read that series yet, I think Vera Wong had a better reception)
riley i NEED you to read Black Sheep by brynne weaver & alexa harlowe!!! i liked it even more than mindfuck cause the love interest is what logan should’ve been from the beginning lol. it was my favorite romance of 2022 with heartless! 💛
**spoilers for the patient** . . . . . . . . for the ending, were you talking about the monster taking the place of the main character's wife?? i remember a specific line about how the monster smiles or something. i read it last year so my memory is hazy but that was my interpretation. i also read it bc of sara lol
I really enjoy booktubers that don't only read one specific genre because that is exactly how my reading taste is. Personally, people who consistently read and review different genres are my favorite to watch.
I was going to say this! I prefer booktubers with a broad interest in genres!❤
Same. I’m an all over the place genre reader, so I love booktubers who read multiple genres!
We all go through changes in our reading. I enjoy your videos because you have such a eclectic taste. I personally prefer booktubers like you who read a little of everything. 💕

i'm so glad you loved The Patient
also Eric La Rocca and A Certain Hunger?? immediately adding Bloom to my tbr
i actually love ur videos bc you read a lot of genres,, i always take recs that are different to what i usually read and its more interesting!!

I’m reading A Most Agreeable Murder right now and I love it!! Definitely a cozy/quirky mystery that feels like a Jane Austen novel
I feel like i've been following you for so long I don't really think of you as a particular 'type' of booktuber, but I totally see what you mean. I LOVED Butcher and Blackbird soooo much!
I love this video idea! I appreciate that you read several genres - more variation is fun to watch

I need to read more sci-fi. I always love it when I read it but I gravitate more to fantasy
@@RileyMarie_ I love the blend of Sci·Horror.. most truly terrifying imo! maybe you can find some stories that are Sci·Fantasy 😊
I have to pick up Bloom and the Butcher and Blackbird book. You’ve sold me
Omg please!!!!
I feel like you read similar to most people. Most people don’t read one genre. I am here for the variety.
this video came at the perfect time. I am also in a reading slump and you really sold me on reading “The Patient” and “Bloom.” I am so excited for both of those! 💜

I loved 'The Patient' too, the audiobook was really good! And yesss the subtle twisty ending had me wondering too! One of my 5 stars this year.

I cover bought Bloom and I’m so stoked you love it! Our horror energy is so similar and you got me so excited to read it now!!! Ahhh!!

i got so many recs from this thank you!
I feel like you’d love the movie Down Low as much as I did, raunchy hilarious gay romp with a bit of murder mixed in
28:29 I perceive you as "Riley, my favourite booktuber, whom I trust blindly" When you love a book it's not on my wanting-list but immediately on my buying-list. I don't even need a synopsis. Happened with Project Hail Mary for example and is now one of my favourite books ever. Right now Still Beating is on my tbr and I actually do this a lot with your recs by now. These two aren't the only books but the first two I can think of lol
edit: Oh, I have Every Hearts a Door Away (or how its called. See? I sometimes dont even remember the titles lol) waiting on my tbr atm too!! There are actually more than I can even think of waiting for me but one (I think) you mentioned before was Daughter of the Pirate King which I read and really love now too.
You are just so good at describing a book and its vibes ✨
I love that ❤️❤️❤️
oou I just got Project Hail Mary as a BOTM and lookin' forward to reading it!
Love this concept!! I’m currently reading and loving In the Company of Witches
For cosy mysteries I think you’d enjoy C. A. Larmer’s series The Murder Mystery Book Club
I feel you about not feeling like you have a place because I read everything but have been pigeon holed into a "fantasy booktuber".
Totally agree that the synopsis doesn’t help The Golden Spoon at all! People expected something more thriller-like when it’s just lightly mysterious until later in the book. They advertised it incorrectly IMO but I still loved it lol
“I read it with my eyeballs…like a peasant” IM CACKLING
I'm really feeling your not being totally into romance right now and feeling slightly confused or disconnected about it. I love romance! But have been in SUCH a thriller mood
In the Company of Witches was a 3 🌟 Thursday Murder Club books are cozy plus. I have Shady Hollow, but haven't read it yet. I can deal with cute. Veronica Speedwell series is cozy plus too.
Butchee and blackbird reminds me of the banter on the Undertaking of Hart and Mercy
I also think you are my favorite youtube for bad ass female or funny female recs
The Great Witches Baking Show by Nancy warren. Cozy mystery series that’s basically great British baking show with witches.
Same feelings about the romance book community ❤
You’re like Henry from RWRB watching the british bake off cus they cant sleep🥺🥰
I loved The Golden Spoon and I have never see the Great British Bake Off.
I see you as a horror/dark romance booktuber!
I don't think you need to fit into a specific genre! I love that you read so many genres! I do too, I jump around all the time, I think that's very normal
Bloom has been on my most anticipated releases list but didn't buy it yet since I wanted to know if it's actually good and hearing you loved it so much I'm going to order it RIGHT NOW
I stumbled across In the Company of Witches this month and decided to pick it up on a whim, I loved it! I hadn't read any cozy murder mysteries before but I had such a good time with it! It's a murder-mystry in a small town, definitely giving Gilmore girls vibes. It's cute and funny but also deals with some tougher topics, like grief, and has very loveable characters. It's also a super quick read, would definitely recommend it :)
I am here for Gilmore girls vibes!!!!
2:46 puppy takin' notes 🐶📝😆
🤣
I see you as an inspirational BookTuber. I love that you read so many genres. You are one of my favorite go to tubbers that make me feel better. I love your channel. "GIVE ME MURDER ". That sounds like something that my soul sister would say. I didnt love The PATIENT but cant wait to see what you think. That was my problem with The Golden Spoon so i was a little disappointed even though i liked the food compitention part. For you i would recommend Arsnic & Adobo Mysteries. I didnt love it but i think you would like the first one in the series. I agree with you 💯 about My Lovely Wife. I thought i was the inly one.
Hahaha, I didn’t even catch blackbird…I’m watch Our Flag Means Death too sooooo going with that! Ha! Great reads.
Honestly, I just see you as one of my favorite booktubers. I’m excited for very video, and every Patreon update. It’s gotten a little parasocial to be honest😂.
I feel like your more relatable, I like a little of all book genre's! Thrillers, Romance, Fantasy, Mysteries, and a little horror!
I want to read butcher and blackbird so bad
I loved temper 🥹
Butcher & Blackbird was top tier I loved so much 5 million ⭐️ but you have me wanting to read Bloom so idk how you’re so good at persuading us to read things out of our comfort zone lmao 😂
I need to read more of Brynne weavers books
I definitely recommend Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala for a cozy mystery! such a fun addictive series
“I read it with MY EYEBALLS like a PEASANT” 😂😂😂
I tend to hardly read horror but you really made me want to read bloom. Well I just finished it today and I am ☠️. I was literally reading it on my phone at work I was so desperate to know what happened!
Have you read Assistant to the Villain? I think it’s better than Legends and Lattes- great cozy fantasy!!
"I read this with my eyeballs like peasant"🤣🤣🤣
I have a tiny Booktube channel but I totally get it because I like to read all genres. My channel started out as Fantasy and now I feel bad when I read everything but Fantasy.😂
I don’t have a place either. My videos I just don’t know. It’s such a variation

Dial A for Auntie is cute and fun for 90%. CW for attempted date r*pe though. The first few chapters could be pretty rough if that’s something you’re sensitive to
Good to know thanks!
Impressive reading speed! I can only finish a book in one day if it's less than 200 pages and really interesting
If you like bake off have you watched the kids one they do a season of that every year normally too on bbc iPlayer normally on cbbc channel x
Thursday murder club sounds so good!!! I need to get to it soon
Try Marrow and try black sheep by the same author as butcher and blackbird!!
Witch city mysteries by carol j Perry!
Omg I’m desperate to know what you think about the ending of The Patient. I just finished it myself
riley i NEED you to read Black Sheep by brynne weaver & alexa harlowe!!! i liked it even more than mindfuck cause the love interest is what logan should’ve been from the beginning lol. it was my favorite romance of 2022 with heartless! 💛
“Jokes on you, I did it in 6.” 😂😂😂

for the ending, were you talking about the monster taking the place of the main character's wife?? i remember a specific line about how the monster smiles or something. i read it last year so my memory is hazy but that was my interpretation. i also read it bc of sara lol

Unsure about cozy mystery vibes, but ive heard theres a lot of ableism in The Maid (centering on Autism) so you might not enjoy that!
