Oh my goodness…IT’S THE THREE-WAY SPLITTING DIAL MECHANISM!!! This is basically the older version of the four-way splitting dial clocks that we know and love today. It worked so well with three pieces that Seiko was like, “Why not add one more?” And so they did. I’m still waiting for them to increase the number to seven-or eight even-as five is impractical for many reasons, and six already exists alongside the aforementioned four-piece mechanism. Also, can you imagine a twelve-way splitting dial (where each number is its own piece of the face)!? If _that_ ever comes along, it will be the pinnacle of Melodies In Motion engineering!!!
No, this is the newer version of the four way splitting dial. QXM139 is the first to use the four way dial, and QXM150 was introduced after the QXM139.
