- Nigel Farage warned of a "population crisis" making Britain poorer during Friday evening’s election debate. The Reform UK leader noted that post-1940s migration was around 30,000 to 40,000 a year, but 2.7 million came under Tony Blair's Labour and 4.3 million under the Tories, despite their 2010 promise to reduce it.
Penny Mordaunt defended the Tories' migration record in the BBC debate, suggesting that immigration would decrease with an annual cap. Labour's Angela Rayner criticised the Tories, saying they've tripled net migration in 14 years.
SNP’s Stephen Flynn called for a positive view on immigration, highlighting Keir Starmer's 2020 stance on freedom of movement.
The debate saw clashes between Rayner and Mordaunt on immigration, energy security, and the nuclear deterrent. Mordaunt criticised Labour’s defense credibility, arguing Putin wouldn't believe Starmer would use nuclear weapons. She also apologised for the Prime Minister leaving the D-Day commemorations early.

Penny Mordaunt is absolutely wonderful. If she was Tory leader they wouldn't be in such a BAD state. I wish she'd ditch those losers and join Reform UK.

Come on, Rishi is just another socialite with no concept of how the UK deals with its war heroes. But don't run away with the idea that Labour is now the party of patriots - we all recognise propaganda stunts when we see them, so put away the flags and stop trying to be virtuous. Starmer would have made a similar mistake if it wasn't for the fact that he has better advisers. If you asked any Labour politician about our wonderful British history they'd look at you with a blank stare and think you'd gone full far right.

Bear in mind Penny Mordaunt has a Portsmouth constituency so it was imperative she spoke out against Sunak with regard to this particular incident.
She had the courage to say it on a TV show, I love Penny a Brit politician with the diplomatic ability of a sledgehammer, she shoots from the heart and really seems to care about her constituents, I bet Penny v Starmer across the despatch box would be interesting viewing
