No she didn't dodge it. You can tell by the last note that it's her voice and it matches with the phrases preceding it. She dodged it in the actual tv performance but not here. You can see her lips moving and there's another video on UA-cam that clearly shows she is singing that part. I didn't realize that part of the song was so difficult but if even Whitney was prone to avoid it, it must be. I'm glad there's at least one video of her singing it love this is such a gem!

She did lip very briefly a few times, but it was obvious and rare. A few performances of I'm Every Woman, the high belt near the bridge. The last performance she did this was her last concert, but she used it as a backing vocal and didn't attempt to persuade the audience it was her actually singing.

Many short clips but they showed live performances by Whitney, this rehearsal song, and Stevie, and Pearl Jam, and Roy Orbison...etc. My husband, a musician, had to assure me that Whitney's performance was live, because it was just that perfect. We lost someone special.
