I just saw these at PetSmart 😅 Now im in disbelief at how there's a "hobby" for even these things Isopods? Those little crabs in the dirt ... Very interesting information I think also their Logo, a winking female looking Iso Bug, what the heck 😂
Life is funny. Today, I received and unboxed some A Klugii Montenegro from you. Today, before bed I go find a video I haven't seen and YOU unbox some Klugii Dubrovnik! Pleasant video all around. One day I'll venture into the larger, Mediterranean species, like those Expansus. Thank you, and go easy! Me
I am new to the hobby. I’m working on my first terrarium. It’s bringing me back to my childhood when I used to catch them in my mom’s garden when my first terrarium is ready I intend to start with dairy cow. Thank you for all the education your show brings.
Smug Bug and others should start doing a monthly isopod subscription for a fixed price where you get isopods, stickers, and updates with what morphs they are currently working on or plans for the future ect. I would definitely subscribe to something like that through smugbug
Great supply! Very cute all around. The Porcellio expansus was very impressive, the antennas are so huge lol The color is really nice too. Oniscus asellus has a lovely color and pattern :D I LOVE the dirt shrimp sticker XD
I have a small colony of A. espanyoli 'Marbelized' too, they're really beautiful if on the small side. They might be my favourite Armadillidium at the moment.
This was 1 of 3 video on my homepage that I wanted to watch, def a small compliment that the other 2 got saved to see what isopods you got lol Also maybe speaks of my easily addicted nature, I dunno. Faves have to be the Dubrovnik and Expansus, still need those in my collection eventually.
Looks like tree bark as fsr as the color goes. Very nice variety you have there. I cant say I ever really enjoyed bugs but I can now see why you like it so much. This may seem like a stupid question.... Can they or will the breed with a different color isopod? Now that would be really intersting. You vould have a black spotted lemonaide ?!?!
The Porcellio expansus probably couldn’t interbreed with another species, but it could interbreed with another color variety of the same species…in some other species, such as Armadillidium vulgare, there is now a great variety of colors/patterns.
Thanks! I using a 16- quart for the expansus, 6 quarts for most of the others. I have fly tapes, a UV fungus gnat trap, and rove beetles, which seem to work well!
All couriers have had some problems in the past couple of years…but to tell you the truth,I have had some issues with USPS on occasion, but FedEx so far has been better.
His voice is really nice and smooth like butter

Smug Bug does supply many Petsmarts with isopods, so that makes sense!

The names are getting crazier and crazier 😂 love the autumnals, great caramel color to them
Who assigns names to the species?

I would be very tempted…
That was so exciting! Thx Russ
Awesome. I went isopod collecting in my backyard and found some wild type scaber and a calico scaber.
Yellow Ochre is a good description of their color. Thank for the content; I love your videos!

I was thinking they looked like the background was a light toffee?
I recently got Orins book on isopods and this looks just like the orange phase expansus in there.
Cubaris are my favorites
They are a pretty cute genus!

Ooo glitter cows thats a new one for the list 😅 they're gorgeous
14:35 I think that’s beige, or just a very light yellow
Nice haul.

Thank you for the reply.
Its nice when a person is heard.✌
Reminds me of desert commo.
Colour i would call amber i think.
Reminds me of desert camp.
I'm glad your isopods arrived alive and well. I received mine yesterday, and half of my package was DOA 😓
Sorry to hear that!!
Sadly same.... except all of mine were dead. The heat pack wasnt working and it took 3 days for FedEx even though I got two day shipping.
@@aidanfordsword6954 I received another package from SB and the second one was also DOA
Cool unboxing! Btw ive been looking for porcellio Hoffmannseggi “Orange “ , do you know where to get them? Thanks
I wish I did…I have seen photos, and they look amazing!
Congrats on the new isopods Rus! What size bins are you using and are you doing anything for fungus gnat prevention on these new cultures? Thanks!

@@Aquarimax I’m putting in my official request for an Aquarimax rove beetle video :)
I’m moving mine into 6 quarts
color: salty caramel
Springtails or isopods, which do u prefer?
Both are useful…as pets I prefer isopods, but I always keep springtails with them. As biocustodians, I also prefer to keep them together.
I like the video edit to cover your address 😅
Personally I would describe that color as caramel
You know the rubber ducky isopods here are only 3$?
In which part of the world?

I would not trust FedEx with any shipping. That is from lots of experience in the last 12 months.

The owner is extremely rude to her customers.
I can say that I have had a very different experience.
