A little extra for the dive back to first: as you dive back, you should have your head turned to the left. This means you will be reaching with your right hand. (Keep eyes on the base) This does two things. First, it protects your face from a low throw that might hit you in the face. Secondly, if it's a wild throw that goes by the first baseman, you will see it and may have an opportunity to steal 2nd. Also, other reasons to go for back corner is that it minimizes the chance of the first baseman's foot being in the way of the bag or him accidentally stepping on you if he has to come off to get the throw.
I love your ability to communicate a situation or technique so clearly. Please keep it up I really enjoy learning more about the game of baseball from such a skilled technicion
Coach Justin awesome stuff all the hacks at third base are all new to me applying them is priority cause I need to reach the next level thank you very much.
Thanks for your videos. My sons and I have been watching for months, and just today (in this video) we recognize the field where you filmed! Trilakes Little League. Do you coach here?
I'm a freshman and I want to play high school baseball, but Ive never played before and I can't hit a ball to save my life. I tried out last year for Jr high baseball, but I didn't make the team. I live in a small area so there are no other local teams, any advise?
Novice here, So, even though you are off base, if the catcher catches the ball, you can still run to second base if your quick enough correct? They won't call it back?
Great video sir. Every kid on my team when they steal looks in the strike zone. My son is the only one who doesn’t because I learned that when I played high school ball and I have passed it onto my son. We’ve worked on it in practice but come game time it’s like they forget everything.
Or steal third like a big boy and the hitter gets an RBI instead of just getting you third and maybe having 2 outs when you go to score and potentially being the third. The chances of the batter hitting you a double is slimmer than just stealing third.
Only issue I have about #1 if reaching with right hand, the swipe tag can push your hand off the base. I would say reach with left hand to resist the push off by the first baseman. Have had that problem and needed to train people to do this.
Can you please show how to dive into first base instead of just describing it? I get that you don't want to do that with your shorts on, but you can always wear long pants for the dive.
Its like if you were diving into second headfirst, but you wanna be more on the left side of the bag when sliding back so it harder for the first basemen to pick you. I don't know if this wil help you with your question.

Great Video as always. Future topic? Leads at second, dealing with an active SS who is getting between you and the bag?
I've never looked at the hitting zone! Looking down is just what I was taught how to run!
Great video. I’m astounded as a coach by how much I learn. And then am able to teach.
I wish I played ball to take advantage of these tips. All these videos are phenomenal.

Why is not common to dive into 3rd base, similar to 1st base?
How to be a smoother fielder

Hahahaha, yeah, get dirty coach.

Why were you squaring up with the catcher? You’re not supposed to
Ay also if you are stealing, you should open your front foot more so you don't have to turn as much
you wish you could hack
This is the wrist video lol 😕😕😕😕😕😕🤦🏽♀️
rephrase this "never make the first or third out at third base"
to "never be the first or third out at third base"
I HAVE NEVER GOT THROWN OUT IM 10
