I remember going on megafobia with my assistant Miss Morse and loved it. The next time I go back I’ll be yelling the year every time as I did in 2021’s snow day
Once when I was in Year 7 whilst I was still in secondary school, we had gone on a school trip to Oakwood Theme Park, and I was planning to go and have a ride on Speed for the very first time. The ques were too long though, and when the que for Speed was eventually short enough for me and my best friends to go on it, they wouldn't go on it with me. I was feeling so gutted, because that roller coaster looks so fun. When I go there next, I am definitely going on it.
This was near enough one of my first rollercoasters, first went on it when I was 5, I was really tall when I was little but now... Not so much, I'm only 1.50 m at the moment D:
For all they cared, you could have been 3. As long as you ar tall enough you can go on it. It's height restrictions. Not age. The height restriction is 1.20m my sister is 4 and she is 1.10m at the moment soon she would be able to go on this. But we don't intend to visit Oakwood anytime soon.
EVILBUNNY28 Incorrect. You have to be 5+ to go on any Roller coaster in Oakwood, You have to have parental permission if your under 8. You have to be 1.35m tall (As of July 2014) This has increased by 15cm in the past 3 years however. The thing which gets me is the fact the 'Speed' began construction early 2010, due to finance problems and new ownership the ride was only opened the follow June in 2011. (P.S For anyone wondering i work at Oakwood, and my record for this ride, in a row, sitting in one seat and not moving is 23.)
Sort of glad this exists. Haven't been on Speed since I finished year 7 in 2008 and my memories of it are a blur and my head being buffeted side to side
I'm going to Oakwood 2 days before the end of school, but fuck no am I going on this, Megafobia was enough to kill my stomach. P.S. I didn't even know the Americans had even heard of Wales lol.
Seriously, go on speed, it's AMAZING. You will regret not going on it, I promise you. I'm 12 and I went on this there was a girl behind me who was 8. I was about to get off when I decided i'd just sit down and go on it, in the end, it's the best rollercoaster I've EVER been on.
Im going to Oakwood this Saturday and im thinking of going on speed for the first time! Watching your video all of the time makes me more confident to go on it so thank you for making this awesome vid
Wow, first of all this was built first. More importantly however, neither is a copy of the other. Other than the vertical chain lift and the beyond vertical drop, they're completely different. Also, even if it was what you would call a "copy", it doesn't matter, they're both built by Gerstlauer, who owns the rights to the design (not Oakwood or Thorpe Park). This type of coaster is actually a trademark of Gerstlauer called a eurofighter. There are several of them all around the world.
Nope i came bc i was looking for one of the many times it broke down bc im in a yt vid bc it broke down when someone was filming and im sat next to them
Brianna Talbot I was on the ride when it broke down once 😂😂 it broke down when I was nearly at the top, but it didn’t stop me from riding it again straight after 😂😂
i go on everyone apart from drenched because the accident Edit: hi lol just letting u guys know I never said it was the parks fault it just put me off the ride which maybe you can’t relate to but I can imagine it’s pretty understandable considering some people just get more nervous over things like that
I remember the first time I went on this ride, I was laughing so much as my hair went flying in all directions, and my friend looking as if he was yelling (although you couldn't hear him over the sound of the wind). Fantastic ride. :)
Went on it 3 times yesterday. On the 3rd time half way up the vertical bit at the very start, it broke and we were stuck half way up. We had to wait about 8 mins for engineers to fix it then we finished the ride. I wouldve gone back on but it was closing time
I think that takes the fun out of things, I know coasters are always fun, but when I was at Thorpe Park, Nemesis was my favourite ride there and eventually I could go on it and there was no excitement because we went 2 days in a row and then it eventually got boring lol.
I went on this twice yesterday, and for my first times riding Speed, it was actually incredibly fun! To be honest, the only bits that were nerve-wracking were when you go up and down the drop vertically and the upside-down curve/loop thing at 00:31. Surprising, the loop (at 00:23), (which most people say is the scariest part) was actually the least-frightening part for me. When going up the drop, I felt like I was just laying in bed, but extremely high up, and as if I was gonna fall out, going down the drop was like sitting at the back of the Pirate Ship (if any of you have been on it) whilst in mid air, and then just plunging to the floor, the loop.. To be honest, I can't exactly describe what the loop felt like, but it definitely wasn't that scary, and the upside-down curve thingy, if you were sitting on the outside on the right, I feel bad for you, because it feels like your gonna fall out of the cart sidewards. But, at least I managed to keep a straight face whilst they took the photo!
Supposedly, the intamin hydraulic launch coaster that became Rita was originally supposed to go to this park but due to apparently high maintenance costs on the intamin coaster this was bought instead. I wonder what towers would be like if rita was never bought, would corkscrew still be operating?
I went to Oakwood with my year and I went on speed 3 times megaphobia 6 times treetops twice because it was boring and a mini version of drench twice. I defiantly recommend going on speed or megaphobia or you'll regret it! It was so much fun I wish I could go back!
I went to oakward about 2 weeks ago and barley anyone was there. So, my friend and I went on this ride (speed) 36 times. No lie. We also went on megagobia about 10 time. It was fun, had a headache after though.... It was worth it.
Only 15 mile from here going Sunday speed is immense there's like a split second delay before going over the top that seems to last for ages before gravity does its thing. Over too quick tho.
I’m going on this in school this Thursday - I have to go on it because me and my friends have made a bet that if I don’t go on it I have to pay them £30
I went on this in August. I know it sounds crazy but before my mum made me go on it (she said it would be fun) I hated loops and heights. Because of this freaking thing I love them :)
I've been to Oakwood so many times because I live so so so so so very close to it and I've also been to Thorpe park In England. I literally went on megaphobia so many times
omg,i loved speed so much!i was screaming YOLO all the way through to make me feel better:L,iit was defently worth the wait of 2 hours:L!me and my friend were scared first, but its my favourite rollercoaster by far. First thing i said was 'uh oh' last thing i said was 'woah!'
I was scared of any rollercoasters until I went on this 😊 best ride ever!!
Fastest in UK
curly sue honestly it’s not the smiler well is🙌🤩
Was it good?? Im too scared to go on it!
yAy yes very but the only thing is that it has had a lot of crashes in the past but that didn’t stop me going on it 😂
This one made me scared of roller coasters
You know what cured my fear of going upside down? The rockin roller coaster at Disney world florida
same
Same omg😂
I LOVE that ride
Same but it was the one in France. It was insane
Same here! Was mad for everything in florida then
@coastermadab ,It also sounds louder than Mantis at Cedar Point, and that hing is pretty fricking loud!
This ride is amazing went on a school trip this year I was laughing my head of at the end.
This ride roars like no other Euro Fighter in the world! I just love this ride; great airtime machine too!
It makes me so happy you guys liked this for some reason😂 wales represent!!
That airtime hill looks AMAZING!!!!!
Tree tops is easily my favourite ride
Cloud Catcher omg that was low but I really liked it.
I remember going on megafobia with my assistant Miss Morse and loved it. The next time I go back I’ll be yelling the year every time as I did in 2021’s snow day
It's weird to see this because I live 10 minutes up the road from there, and I went last Saturday 😂
Lexi Peters same
Lexi Peters how is it weird...

bull shit no 5 yr old is allowed on this ride
For all they cared, you could have been 3. As long as you ar tall enough you can go on it. It's height restrictions. Not age. The height restriction is 1.20m my sister is 4 and she is 1.10m at the moment soon she would be able to go on this. But we don't intend to visit Oakwood anytime soon.

Gamerverted If you were 5 when you went on it, this only makes you 8-9 years of age, and chances are, your sister wasn't even born.
Gamerverted And if she was born, your mum would have been pregnant, meaning your dad would have had to go on with you.
Sort of glad this exists. Haven't been on Speed since I finished year 7 in 2008 and my memories of it are a blur and my head being buffeted side to side
Did you guys get a POV of Saw at Thorpe too? Would be great if you got all 3 UK Eurofighters!
I'm going to Oakwood 2 days before the end of school, but fuck no am I going on this, Megafobia was enough to kill my stomach. P.S. I didn't even know the Americans had even heard of Wales lol.
Give us some fucking credit, will ya?
are u going on the last day of this month
Seriously, go on speed, it's AMAZING. You will regret not going on it, I promise you. I'm 12 and I went on this there was a girl behind me who was 8. I was about to get off when I decided i'd just sit down and go on it, in the end, it's the best rollercoaster I've EVER been on.
I'm a wimp I only went on tree tips and the pirat ship lmao
Demi Adams ahahahaahahahahaha the pirate ship was broken down
Going to oakwood saturday.... going on this ride cant wait
This ride was amazing, I've beem there today.
Im going to Oakwood this Saturday and im thinking of going on speed for the first time! Watching your video all of the time makes me more confident to go on it so thank you for making this awesome vid
LOVE the sounds of this coaster! Reminds me of Ridddlers Revenge at Six Flags..
This looks like one of the best coasters ive seen, i love Oakwood too.
I love the sound it makes..

Ant - O - Nee Saaaaaame.

Aaahh, those wheels rolling on the solid steel track... it's music to my ears!
I went on this 6 times in August 2014.
It was awesome! :D

Samee
i was here yesterday for the 1st time went on this ride a few times loved it.
@gameplayer951 Oakwood has 4 8 seat cars, the most i have seen run is 2
i go on everyone apart from drenched because the accident
Edit: hi lol just letting u guys know I never said it was the parks fault it just put me off the ride which maybe you can’t relate to but I can imagine it’s pretty understandable considering some people just get more nervous over things like that
Same
Why? That was when it had different restraints. The park Changed hands and it's owned by a company that's reliable
Same!!
Riverdale x me two ...
That happened like 18 years ago... *and it happened once*
This is my favourite ride out of the whole park I love it so much !!
The cars have the same look as the Eurofighter skins on NoLimits. The program also has "Speed: No Limits" skins for the cars too
Going on a schooltrip to Oakwood!! Today!!
I remember the first time I went on this ride, I was laughing so much as my hair went flying in all directions, and my friend looking as if he was yelling (although you couldn't hear him over the sound of the wind). Fantastic ride. :)
Happy 2 year anniversary for this video being uploaded! :-)

That helix looks so amazing and intense!
I think that takes the fun out of things, I know coasters are always fun, but when I was at Thorpe Park, Nemesis was my favourite ride there and eventually I could go on it and there was no excitement because we went 2 days in a row and then it eventually got boring lol.
This looks better than saw
Some of the strongest airtime I’ve seen on any rollercoaster
Respect to u guys for going to Oakwood, I live about an hour away and I don't even go there. haha
This is the first ride at Oakwood to go upside down!!
I went on this twice yesterday, and for my first times riding Speed, it was actually incredibly fun! To be honest, the only bits that were nerve-wracking were when you go up and down the drop vertically and the upside-down curve/loop thing at 00:31. I really hate this ride it's too rough
The roar on this thing is incredible!
going there for my birthday in 8 days going to go on speed never been on it before cant wait!
Looks fun! go Summer!
im going to oakwood next week it never gets old ive been thre 5 times already but bounce is brilliant went on bounce and speed 4 times lol
Awsome but how did u get the camera to stay on the ride
The reason for that is, that this is the smoothest coaster in the world! (Out of the ones i've been on that is)
This looks really smooth!
That is a beastly Eurofighter.
That looks so smooth!
Looks way more fun then Typhoon@Bobbejaanland.
It's got really rough- however the airtime on the first hill is out of this world. My shirt blew up from it haha
Supposedly, the intamin hydraulic launch coaster that became Rita was originally supposed to go to this park but due to apparently high maintenance costs on the intamin coaster this was bought instead. I wonder what towers would be like if rita was never bought, would corkscrew still be operating?
First time on Speed yesterday was quite scared but then i loved it i went on it 3 times!
I'm going to Oakwood with my school and this is the only ride I'm dreading

The Famous KRL You too :)

The airtime on the camelback is phenomenal.

I went in it 8 times in a row yesterday it's amazing !!!🎢🎢🎢
Crazy ride !! Great view when u get to the top !!
yeah but a little hard to look around
We went to Oakwood with the school , went on this .. SOO SCARED OF THE FIRST DROP OMG!!!
I went to Oakwood with my year and I went on speed 3 times megaphobia 6 times treetops twice because it was boring and a mini version of drench twice. I defiantly recommend going on speed or megaphobia or you'll regret it! It was so much fun I wish I could go back!
.....you need to do your research before saying this, because I think you'll find that this coaster was built a good few years before the Saw coaster
I went to oakward about 2 weeks ago and barley anyone was there. So, my friend and I went on this ride (speed) 36 times. No lie. We also went on megagobia about 10 time. It was fun, had a headache after though.... It was worth it.
Saw may be shorter by 15 feet and slower by 2 mph but even then I prefer Saw. Saw has good theme and a scary indoor section.
I find going up the hill at the start the scariest, I always regret going on it as I'm going up.
This is the coaster that cured my fear of going upside down
Same lol
Same lol
LemmaDiaries SAMEEE

This is from gestlauer right...? cause this looks like the typhoon from Bobbejaanland.
I love the idea of vertical lift hills.
I love the sound of speed
I went on this in August. I know it sounds crazy but before my mum made me go on it (she said it would be fun) I hated loops and heights. Because of this freaking thing I love them :)
And luvs the part when u go up, luv it
