This would be a delicious custard to fill donuts, horns, eclairs, also, cream puffs. I have made cream puffs, put vanilla ice cream in them, drizzle hot fudge over them. Delicious.
Your " cream icing " is the same recipe , I use for my puff pastry filling . It's so delicious !!! We always double the recipe and freeze half in a tube shape . Then we make whoopie pies the next week . 😉

Yummy! Seems to be my cream puffs recipe. I prefer the individual cream puffs. You can fill the "cake" with many things, pudding, chicken salad, crab or shrimp salad. Delish.

Exactly! My mother used to make eclairs every once in a while and my job was the cream. I’d love to try it but living in Senior housing the counters are too high and there’s no room for ingredients so I gave up baking…even stopped making bread. Kneeling on a chair hurts the knees.

It's basically a cream puff in layer cake form. The cream is very standard pastry cream, the cake layers are pâte à choux
