should the viewer take for granted that all these are brushless motordriven.? as you have no info what so ever - on one of the most critical aspect on a massage gun.. (the motor variant). in the higher segment.. brushless is obvious the norm - just as it is on powertools etc, but when you going down in the mid to lower segment... you will encounter brushed motors and that makes quite a big toll on both the runtime and the loadpotency. but not even a word on the most critical aspect on a massage gun.. the motor, and sadly so many vendors will not inform this part in specs or even the motorwattage.. but I'm guessing this video is really not for transparency and give the viewers the insight they often cant find in specs, bu its CNET and more like advertising and being able to piggyback ride your viewers purse with aff-links.. and the actual RPM you get - is usually not anywhere near specs. I guess many vendors are just taking the motors reference RPM and expecting the same RPM in a given percussion system. you can measure it, with a cheap 8USD RPM tachometer and a small narrowstrip of reflective tape and sense the percussion value.. I got an Xiaomi variant - it was rated at 3200 rpm.. its more like 1200 (lev1), 1600 (lev2) and 2400rpm (lev3) do I need it or want it higher, not at all....it got 3 main speedvalues and then 2 cycling values.. where one cycles between 1 to 14 levels and the second between 1 to 24 levels, and that's pretty nice it ain't just stationary to one level.. and the percussion is exactly 10.04mm in my test.. so a 1cm travel. and i certainly dont want more travel.. partically if you also wanna be able to use it on parts where you tissue ain't that deep. the running time is impressive for these brushless units. (very.. suppresinly long) My unit takes 19v so I just use 20v PD protocol trigger that many TypeC-cables now a days comes with, and charge it with powerbanks etc, in its dock or alone.
Big thing to mention that no reviews do for the Theragun Pro is the two removable batteries can be charged outside of the device. That leaves it as the only option that can be charged while in use.
Anyone reading this and wanting an actual verdict (which this video fails on), I spent a lot of time researching and trying these out. For the record I am long distance runner (mountain marathons) and my legs are whacked out, calf issues / strained quads / screaming hamstrings. I settled on the 'muscle gun carbon', solid build, can go very strong (needed for really get a proper deep tissue massage) and the battery lasts a long time!
Just bought the Theragun Elite and first impression is very favorable, Powerful and deep massage, and I didn't need that little but extra the Pro offered.
Hypervolt Hyperice is amazing. Very powerful, crazy long battery life, charges fast, very quiet, and I’ve had my for 4 years and use it daily. Very reliable.
I have the vybe V2 and I love it. It’s only about $70 and while it is kinda loud, it is the hardest hitting massage gun that I’ve found and I find it to be perfect for deep tissue.
Most of these brands are the ones that have a lot of marketing dollars behind them. I've used over 60 massage guns now and Ekrin & Theragun make my top 10, but there are a lot of other massage guns out there for around $100 that are incredible! Make sure you get the right massage gun for you! Think about power (speed, amplitude, stall force), usability, and noise. I've noticed I always grab the quiet ones to use. Hope that helps!
Agreed. Lots of cheap junk flowing in as well. Used over 15 name brands myself, including several knock offs. If Theragun is one of your favorites, you need to get the Power-Pro model from Max-Vibe. Haven't found a better one since I got it on release last year.
Do mind dropping some more names from that top 10?? I just bought the HoMedics Therapist Select Plus.. Its not a bad gun but it isn't as strong as I wanted it to be.. I may be taking it back but would like to know what are some better and affordable options out there..Theragun probably isn't gonna happen for me
Theragun is the strongest most robust massage gun in my opinion. I am a massage therapist and have used many. The Theragun Pro is well worth the money in the long run. Other cheaper models have crapped out with an early shelf life, big down when trying to go deeper , but the Theragun is robust and long lasting! Very strong motor keeps it top of my list!
Gf picked up a $50 one on zon, it's been fantastic. Long charge, first speed is powerful, and came with 8 different heads. The crescent one does wonders on my limbs. There are solid cheap ones out there, don't need to blow $500+
Don't buy the hype of all those other guns or go for the option that is affordable. Got the Bob and Brad machine for less than 70$ and it's been wonderful!
I got the Bob and Brad massage gun for 99 bucks after reading some positive reviews and not wanting to drop 300+ for a theragun. I’m not regretting it all. Recently brought it on a family vacation and everyone was fighting over it. I love the forked headed for getting in between two muscles.
I got the lifepro sonic plus! It works well but sadly nothing is as good as going to a masseuse. Though I personally found the lifepro feels much nicer if you can get someone else to do it for you as it’s hard to reach certain parts of your back with the way it’s shaped
Nice review. May I suggest a similar review of only those few massage guns that have a replaceable battery? When an unremovable battery no longer takes a charge the gun then becomes a paperweight. This gives neither consumers or producers an incentive to go for durability in the product. Why would they if it is guaranteed to be useless when the battery dies? So far I have found a VIBE, and a RECOVERFUN with replaceable batteries and one commenter below mentioned the Theragun Pro as being another. OR one that is plug in and does not use batteries...
A) you'll get great results using a RIYOBI POLISHER but its loud and not easy to get into awkward spots - i bought the rebranded hyper volt gun at COSTCO and it broke under pressure ?! = goes to show the value of the expensive models which are built tough to sustain force under pressure on athletes
Ached Away Pro! It's the quietest and deepest performing. I am a full-time massage therapist of 20 years and have used the Theragun and Hypervolt for years.

I wish you also tested DIY options like putting a lacrosse-ball on a reciprocal saw. A cheap option for everybody, and a no-brainer for those already owning a SDS-compatible reciprocating saw... If it's actually worth it that is. I would like to know!
I have the theragun prime. Pretty good. I might get the theragun pro soon though. Swapable batteries which is huge, and more pressure to put on the muscles with that. Clients will love it. I combine that with the HiDow TENS/EMS unit, then it’s a killer recovery combination to get people training harder.
Theraguns hand design automaticly makes it the number 1 option . Got rid of 2 hypervolts because of this reason and bought a prime and a pro from theragun. I'll never go back to anything else but theragun .
how do they facilitate that? do they rent it out or just let people check it out for a while then have them bring it back? How do they deal with sanitizing? just use wet wipes or?? In any case that is a great resource. I know, pre-pandemic, 24-hour fitness was offering them for sale only.
@@manp1039 Great question, we gotta check them in and out to use in the gym and we gotta use sonos sanitizing wipes when we put them back on the charging station. The little stuff like that is why I love my powerlifting gym.

Ive never handled any of these products so tbh its hard for me to quantify just how much pressure id need. Im a cyclist so its my quads and hamstrings in need the most. thanks

The Hypervolt Hyperice was $250 when I got it, and it can really get into the deep tissue, and battery life is good. A little noisy, but overall, best one for the price with like 5 attachments
I'm thinking about a deep tissue massage for my arms and legs inparticular, having had chronic Lymphoedema since I had a bone anchored hearing aid implanted 3 and a half years ago. I'm thinking I'll buy one of the more high end guns which hopefully wouldn't come with hard plasticky accessories which would feel like I was bruising the whole time I used it. I also carry far too much cellulite round the midriff, so I'm hoping it would give that a good bashing and rearranging as well. I should add, yes, I did have a consultation with the specialist nurse at my local health centre, but she just insisted on compression stockings... which I'm still waiting for those to land at my local Boots store, 4 months later. This is too bad of my Docs office not to put a prescription through twice now we've asked for them.

If you own one of the massage guns with a 2 inch diameter handle you can just cut some 2 inch inner diameter drain pipe to your desired length and twist the handle into it.
Ive had many massagers over the years and my fav recent machine from2-3 years ago was a youlisn from amazon. It was about $250. Not sure what the stall force is but my guess is around 30-40. Amplitude is maybe 11mm Its messing up bc something is rubbing causing a black powder. Its getting all over my pillowncases and sheets so i have been searching for a replacement. Ive tried erkin, the bob c2, beloman, and a few other machines. The ones with a shorter amplitude u can feel only does a surface massage. I like the beloman bc the head can pivot 16 different angles and it strong but the touch screen is driving me crazy bc i keep accidentally adjust the speed when i dont want to. I have a theragun pro coming today. But is that going to be too much and how loud is it conpared to other 2022 amazon massager. I was amazed how whisper quiet bob and brad c2, but it was returned bc it felt like a surface only mssage.
Massage gun batteries get weak after 3 or 4 months of daily use. It would be helpful to get easily replaceable batteries the same as a power tool. Power corded versions are another good alternative.
Most of these things look like they would have a hard time reaching between my should blades where all the stress resides. I would just prefer a (quieter) cordless version of the the vibrating massage wand I already own.
Beware the Theragun! You are on your own once the 1 year warranty expires. The on/off switch broke on mine after 18 months. Now it won’t turn on and Theragun does NOT do repairs. Ironic how they can advertise “industry leading warranty”. I just ordered an Ekrin 37 that comes with a real industry leading warranty for a lifetime. Hope I won’t need to use it.
Therabody, nothing else comes close in my opinion. The rest are either more of a vibration, or awkward to handle. Try the new theraguns, they are literally whisper quiet
Stall force is also important. If it doesn't have much stall force, it doesn't matter how far the head travels. I actually use one that only has 7mm of travel most (I've used over 60 massage guns). It's strong enough to still dig deep for 90%+ of my needs!
$600 bruh, the $100 massage guns are the same. The features of app assistance is useless but is an excuse for price "upping". Now if it repairs torn ligaments then ill waste over $100 on a massage gun.

DO NOT BUY THERAGUN - customer service is the worst! you spend $600 on the gun and they only guarantee the attachments for 30 days. They want you to spend $20 every 60-90 days to replace the attachments, information that they hide away in the FAQ section. I've tried the hypervolt and other percussion massagers at similar price points and they do the exact same job for a fraction of the price
Okay.. I just want to say now there are more people using dangerous massage tools (Aren't meant for massage). So if you want to do this at YOUR OWN RISK do it. But never recommend using these tools. Obviously, they us it cause they want to spend minimal amount of money not 100's of dollars on these massage tools.
I searched for "what is the strongest massager. Your title says "we tested the top massage guns. these are the best." then you say: "Well here are a couple of the good ones but since most people don't want to spend money we are going to talk about mostly mid range ones." Thumbs down. ugh.
I bought one for my girlfriend for upper thigh and perineum area pains. I don't know if it's a problem with the rubber quality, but I hear her using it daily, sometimes several times a day, and the rubber has become somehow sticky and smelly. This is not the smell of cellulose acetate butyrate typical of plastic screwdrivers handles, this is something else. Could it be just sweat and grease from the skin ?
All of these are insanely overpriced. As an electrical engineer, I can tell you that the mechanisms are on a par with the simplest power tools that cost twenty to thirty dollars.

Not really meaningless. Everyone has a different budget and a different body. Some message guns might not work as well as others for some people.

I am hoping these companies creating these massage guns create Extention handles that will allow a person to massage their own back or other parts of the body hard to reach solo. I was considering rigging up an aluminum crutch to one with a bungee cord. then I can guide it to places on my back and shoulders.. and around my scapula muscles and trapezius muscles. It would be nice to have some variation on speed control. And I have an idea on how I can do that with the B&D WP900, by plugging it into a variable power control plug.. then I can increase or decrease or even turn it off there instead of the switch on the device. It just occurred to me that some of these devices could use 3d printed heads made with a 3d printer. And they can even use Flexi material or 3d print cover with TPU

If you own one of the massage guns with a 2 inch diameter handle you can just cut some 2 inch inner diameter drain pipe to your desired length and twist the handle into it.

Ive had many massagers over the years and my fav recent machine from2-3 years ago was a youlisn from amazon. It was about $250. Not sure what the stall force is but my guess is around 30-40. Amplitude is maybe 11mm
Its messing up bc something is rubbing causing a black powder. Its getting all over my pillowncases and sheets so i have been searching for a replacement.
Ive tried erkin, the bob c2, beloman, and a few other machines. The ones with a shorter amplitude u can feel only does a surface massage.
I like the beloman bc the head can pivot 16 different angles and it strong but the touch screen is driving me crazy bc i keep accidentally adjust the speed when i dont want to.
I have a theragun pro coming today. But is that going to be too much and how loud is it conpared to other 2022 amazon massager. I was amazed how whisper quiet bob and brad c2, but it was returned bc it felt like a surface only mssage.
Do the handles on these massagers vibrate? I absolutely cannot stand the feeling of vibration in my hand going up my arm. So uncomfortable.
Massage gun batteries get weak after 3 or 4 months of daily use. It would be helpful to get easily replaceable batteries the same as a power tool. Power corded versions are another good alternative.

Beware the Theragun! You are on your own once the 1 year warranty expires. The on/off switch broke on mine after 18 months. Now it won’t turn on and Theragun does NOT do repairs. Ironic how they can advertise “industry leading warranty”.
I just ordered an Ekrin 37 that comes with a real industry leading warranty for a lifetime. Hope I won’t need to use it.
Therabody, nothing else comes close in my opinion. The rest are either more of a vibration, or awkward to handle. Try the new theraguns, they are literally whisper quiet

Stall force is also important. If it doesn't have much stall force, it doesn't matter how far the head travels. I actually use one that only has 7mm of travel most (I've used over 60 massage guns). It's strong enough to still dig deep for 90%+ of my needs!

That black and decker massager is just wrong.
DO NOT BUY THERAGUN - customer service is the worst! you spend $600 on the gun and they only guarantee the attachments for 30 days. They want you to spend $20 every 60-90 days to replace the attachments, information that they hide away in the FAQ section. I've tried the hypervolt and other percussion massagers at similar price points and they do the exact same job for a fraction of the price

Okay.. I just want to say now there are more people using dangerous massage tools (Aren't meant for massage). So if you want to do this at YOUR OWN RISK do it. But never recommend using these tools. Obviously, they us it cause they want to spend minimal amount of money not 100's of dollars on these massage tools.

I bought one for my girlfriend for upper thigh and perineum area pains. I don't know if it's a problem with the rubber quality, but I hear her using it daily, sometimes several times a day, and the rubber has become somehow sticky and smelly. This is not the smell of cellulose acetate butyrate typical of plastic screwdrivers handles, this is something else. Could it be just sweat and grease from the skin ?

All of these are insanely overpriced. As an electrical engineer, I can tell you that the mechanisms are on a par with the simplest power tools that cost twenty to thirty dollars.
