Jeff, we always want you to rest if you aren't feeling well so don't apologize for not putting out videos when you don't feel like it. We are certainly interested in what you are doing on the homestead, with the chickens, or whatever else is going on but not at the expense of your health. You do look a little tired so don't overdo it tomorrow.

My super market is now selling cartons of eggs that tout brown eggs, green and an occasional blue egg... for 7 dollars a carton! Somebody cares in Columbus, Ohio.
One of my favorite chickens are the Easter Eggers! I hope everyone will support Prepsteader Bob and Mrs. B! It was always fun trying to figure out which chicken laid which egg!

Wild Berry is the prettiest rooster I have ever seen! He will always be my favorite.
I have to deal with exhaustion everyday. I do litter boxes and make dinner everyday. Anything else is subject to my energy level. I wish I could get more done around the apartment, but I have to pick one chore a day. So you are not alone in wishing you had higher energy levels.
I love the chicken ramblings about who's related to who, because it's almost like a bunch of Cape Bretoners just got together and are trying to discover how they are all related, going back to the 1400s. And the eggs are lovely.
It's good to see #2 scurrying around with those big chicks. They aren't babies any more. I hope you can keep at least one of her own chicks. I like her tough as nails personality.

I enjoyed the chicken chat. I've been watching since before this was Bobblehead Homestead, I watched you back when you were Peoria Dude, so I've become acquainted with all of your chickens as they showed up on your homestead were brought to you at your homestead or hatched at your homestead Etc. My favorite hen is #2, one of the original Fab Four named by pecking order, and my favorite rooster is Wild Berry, gifted to you by Doug and Ashley and named by their daughter Belle when they came and helped you on your homestead for their vacation. I was telling my 87 year old farm raised mother about your homestead and all about #2 and how thanks to your vlogs I realize how different chickens are from one another and how much personality many of them have. Your chicken chat always makes perfect sense to me and I enjoy it!I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. It's perfectly all right with me if you complain a bit on your videos about not feeling well when you don't feel well. You shouldn't have to avoid talking about that for the camera. Unfortunately, life is not all hunky-dory and honestly if it were would we really appreciate the wonderful days if everyday was wonderful? Probably not. I once lived somewhere for two years where the weather was pretty much perfect year round and you know what ...I started to take it for granted and not take walks on wonderful days, not truly appreciate the beautiful days much because I knew the next day would be the same. There's that old saying, Iinto Every Life Some Rain Must Fall and you know what it's probably a valid saying. No one should have too many rainy days but if you get one every once in awhile it makes you appreciate all the days that it's not raining more. Anyway I hope you're feeling better and that you'll continue to feel well but if you're not I think it's probably okay with the vast majority of your fans if you say so. I'm going now to watch some of the Self-reliant Road Show's videos and let their ads play and click on the advertising sites because that's unfortunately the best I can do for them at present. If they do make it to Florida I hope I'll get a chance to see your wonderful sister Priscilla on camera, she's a good sister and a nice woman.

About #2's babies.. I love #2 and honestly aren't her natural born babies the cutest little things ever? I wish I had a homestead so I could get some of #2's babies for pets. I would spoil them rotten and love them forever.
I always think it would be cool to open a box of eggs from the store and see all the colours you have! I like coloured eggs but the most I get are various shades of brown.
My local grocery store actually sells colored eggs by the dozen now. They're beautiful they're rather expensive. I got a dozen I paid extra because they are so pretty and it was worth it. I had 2 blue eggs, 2 light brown eggs, 2 dark brown eggs, 2 light green eggs, 2 darker green eggs, and 2 white eggs. They came in a clear egg carton. They were almost too pretty to eat! Fancy eggs, lol.

We have customers that don’t give a hoot what color of eggs we sell them. Then there are those who want more green colored eggs. So we keep a variety of hens
Mercury is in Retrograde (again)...but combined with the changing season, loss of daylight , etc it catches up with us...and thanks for the shout out for the Self Reliant Road Show...good people and PS tell a Labrador Retriever guy that color doesn't matter !

Seems to me that brown eggs taste better than white but there’s probably no real difference. However, chickens that are fed natural feed and can move around are healthier than store bought eggs for sure. Duck eggs are richer than chicken eggs, bigger too of course.

Good to see you Jeff. I love the different colored eggs. A grocery store near me got a color variety six pack in so I got to try some! Not as good as your free-rangers but fun (and pricey too).

Egg shaming....??? Laughed hard enough to make my sides hurt. Toooooo funny. I don't always believe the subject matter of a video is what makes it great. It also needs a genuine personality from a genuine person. U r exactly that Jeff. Just think with all the different colors of eggs come Easter u won't have to use any dye. They will already be like Easter.

Is it possible to feed your hens food that will darken the eggs? Maybe plant some dark leafy greens for them to eat idk...
Jeff how long does an egg last before they spoil ? They are different from store bought so I was wondering how that works.

I wish my hens were laying. Only store bought eggs right now.

@@squirrelhillfarm9070 can't find it. You need to activate your tabs so folks can look for specific videos. I honestly already know why hens don't lay. Shorter days, molting, etc. I have 9 pullets who won't be old enough to lay until January. The other hens are all molting
Plus freezing temps don't help. Age is a factor too. All but 1 hen is getting up in age. I've switched everyone to a higher protein wild game feed for the rest of 2019. So hopefully that will help.

That might not be what's happening.. for people that I'm subscribed to and watch that I always enjoy, I thumbs up before I watch the video if I found anything objectionable I could always remove my thumbs up after watching. That doesn't happen with Jeff, I've never removed a thumbs up. I always give him a thumbs up before I watch, that way I don't forget to give him a like. That might be what's happening with other also.
