Per your request for what type of ship that was - (based upon my diving on the remains of several sunken clipper ships in Puget Sound, Washington) - the remains of your newly discovered wreck match up perfectly as an old clipper or packet sailing ship built in the 1800's. Those old sailing ships were put together with huge bronze rods and spikes - just as shown in the video. (the high cost of bronze meant that material was not used in big ships much after the 1880s - being replaced with less expensive black iron - so that helps us age identify this vessel as one most likely built prior to 1880). There was no sign of engines/boilers/bronze tubing which also helps identify it as a sailing ship and not a steam ship. If you could follow the anchor chain, I assume it will lead to an anchor, and the type of anchor often helps narrow down the age of a wreck. Fascinating discovery! I hope you can follow up by identifying the name and history of the ship.
Greetings from Maine, USA! We tend to stick to fresh water up here due to the cold year round ocean temps.....at least in my part of the state. Love your videos, as I have a fear of the ocean which will never be conquered....so to live vicariously through you two is a blessing I will not squander. I am both envious and grateful.
A fear of the ocean can easily be overcome even if it seems daunting. So long as you can swim and know how to spot riptides you’re 99.99% all good. Except for sharks obviously lol
@maine-lygamingtips2039 Northern Washington county here. We have some premium bass and landlocked salmon fishing up here. Shore fishing in the saltwater usually only nets you some mackerel or harbor pollock....though I have caught winter flounder on occasion.
Fish life is amazing and so is the mermaid. Thanks for all the mini vacation . Enjoy your youth. I'm 70 and I will never be able to do anything like what you are doing. Thanks again from the Pacific Northwest
1.24 million. I know you never expected this kind of a response when you started this adventure. But here you are. Working your asses off, but getting to live this amazing life style while doing it. I'm very glad for you. Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey with us. Stay safe. ❤🙏
As a life long fresh water and road camper, this doesn't look like work at all, but living the dream life! We had to work between trips before YT made the life style so much easier to live full time... Now old, but at least retired, we have camped in every US state, Europe, Australia, and the best of them all, Panama!
You two have been a Blessing in my life since the beginning of your channel! The adventures I've experienced with you have been Amazing! Luv ya both! ♥
Strick - your knowledge of the areas and wild life is unmatched! Fran - you're the most beautiful thing the Pacific Ocean has to offer, a Goddess among men!
It’s uplifting to watch two people share the love of nature and sea life. And always so upset when the episode ends. It just leaves me wishing for more. But, the format is so compelling, I can’t wait for the next week’s adventure. Go safely wonderful couple 👍
I could watch this all day. The cinematography, the amazing sea life. What a dream to experience this..I can smell the ocean. Thanks to you two. Also, the subtle but important message of conservation.
Wow that's awesome so many memories, the drone shots are amazing 💜 the underwater shots are like being in a aquarium it so clear ,you guys are 5 out of 5 all the way!! You can hold your breath for a long time, both of you, great success 💐🌹 can't wait to see more . Northern California says Hello 🤗💜 again this is the BEST channel on UA-cam B2B second best channel! Thank you for taking us along for the ride , 🦀🦀🦞🐟 to a New species
Wow that was so cool seeing once again were it all began,I remember watching the two of you building the hut and as time went on Fran was decorating the walkway and hut what a great trip down memory lane.thanks for bringing us back☮️😊
The shot of the manta ray swimming next to the shark was amazing, you really get a true sense of the size of these majestic creatures. Keep up the good work guys! All the best from U.K.
Great episode! As always, I'm grateful to the two of you for sharing a part of your adventures. It's a privilege to have been along for such a long while.
Petting an Octopus! So cool Fran!! 🥰 My girlfriend is from Thailand and recently introduced me to salmon skin chips and they are amazing! Never thought I'd love snacking on fish skin. 😊
I absolutely love your shows guys they are my favourite things to watch. You guys obviously love each other but Strick you don’t seem to show a lot of affection to Fran I’m sure you do but I would like to see and hear you tell her you love and adore her like we all do ❤❤❤❤👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. You guys are awesome I would love to be able to do what you do. 😜😜
Been watching from the beginning , pure Gold, amazing how far y’all have been, you Both soooooo Blessed! Thank you for sharing! y’all Keeping it simple and basic! Beautiful
Thank You Strick and Fran Congratulations. Your Both So Beautiful & Amazing Love and GOD Bless You Both Aloha Always Sister Chrissy Honolulu HI 💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜🥰🌹🌹
Fran, if you love octopus, you must watch a film called “My Octopus Teacher”. Absolutely beautiful. But be warned, have some tissues ready for the end. A beautiful, but sad ending. Love your work guys!
You should dig under the sand to look for buried treasure. Most people don't know that Australia was a main diamond hub back in the early 1900's. Ships would sail to Asia with opals, diamonds and gold all destined for Asia and especially Japan and Korea.
I think it’s time for a bigger boat Jack !! Full time sailing, I bet Fran agrees!! You’re my favourite channel guys, I no you will come back in stile ❤
Highlights for me I thought was funny was the house swapping @ 12:15 and the super cute 🐙🥰 19:40 that was so cute. Thank you guys for a lovely Sunday. You always brighten my day up. Hope you both feelin better after the 🐝attack. Stay safe guys ❤️
26:07 - a couple tips from both the very white part of my family that owns corn farms, and very Mexican part of my family that loves elotes: no need for foil, just throw the corn on the fire in the husk. then once it's cooked take the husk off. after that if you want to go 1 step further and get an even better flavor, stab a stick in the cob and hold the corn right over the fire/coals until you get a tiiiny bit of a char. you can add the butter and salt either before or after you char the corn. you can also add a little chile powder or tajin if you want something really special. (tajin has salt already, so skip the extra salt if you add tajin) you can thank me later lol
Crazy how far you have come in one year! I'm so happy for you two success couldn't happen to a nicer couple. I truly enjoy your content as yous side of the world really intrigues me. So watching you guys travel and have fun is amazing and thank you for making your episodes informative and entertaining at the same time. The little details do not go unnoticed like little arrows point at things , telling us information about different creatures as well as putting the actual type on the screen so the viewers know what they are looking at . So thanks guys for letting me feel like I'm right beside you on all your adventures! ❤️ Michelle from Ontario Canada
I really appreciate what you guys do together you guys make a great team a good couple. always enjoy watching your adventures. I've never been able to enjoy the ocean so it's really fun watching you guys interact with nature. thank you for what you provide.
Have you ever tried "Roasted Corn in Husk on the Campfire"? Tinfoil Not required, we alway use this cooking method when camping works great. 🙂 Great videos keep up the good work!
Your channel is amazing! Educational content, beautifully shot! Camera quality is next level, guys! You deserve your own outdoor adventure show! Cheers!! 🌊
Put a slice of raw potato on the wasp stings or any bug bites to suck out the venom. It works great! I love watching your videos! You two are so sweet. Sending love and hugs
That was cool going back. Glad you were able to catch another bone fish there. Being a fly fisherman you can't believe how highly regarded that fish is, almost a religious icon for flyfishing
I remember those episodes, seems like yesterday 🎉 Your videos are the best thing on YT I was about 15 years old, fishing about 10 miles into the Atlantic at night, off the Florida Keys. 😮 A giant turtle surfaced on our bow anchor line. It made a huge breathing noise before I saw it and it scared the hell out of me. Resembles a large fire rocket launch 🎉
So fun to see you guys back at the beginning. I'd love to know how much the rest of the island may have changed over the year you've been gone. And Fran, the way you got that octopus to come out was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of this, can't wait for next week.
An old Linesman trick. While eating,if a fly tries to land on your food just pinch a little piece off and toss it a few feet away. They will leave yours alone.Try it.
I stumbled across y'all's shows and I'm a big fan now. My husband started watching with me and we're both hooked! I know y'all scuba dive but we're still trying to figure out how in the world do y'all hold your breath so long. Whew and swimming with those sharks. Wow
Just want to say ,Fran ,you are gorgeous ,and we dont have a problem with your accent. Your personality is a beam of light. Ive watched almost all of your videos and i admire your beautiful character. Both of you handle difficulties with such a positive outlook. (Negative aspect but plz read ,im not hating on anyone ,just expressing my gratitude for your methods) I was complaining to my partner afew days ago about how you should have more subscribers. If anyone deserves the most succesful sailing channel its you guys. I mean (no hate on la vagabonde - love them but...) it seems unjust that they have all these views when in my opinion , their channel isnt even real sailing anymore ,its just a houseboat. They shop for groceries but you guys live day to day ,working hard for your food ... for years having to set up camp on beaches ,facing elements and animals. You have both experienced ultimate discomfort and yet you persist in being positive and you stick to what you love... but la vagabonde makes videos complaining about how they cant do it anymore ,when they are ridiculously spoiled etc. (And i have watched them from the beginning btw) Again no hate but la vagabonde is the richest sailing channel and i think its unfair. Complaining when theyre on a luxury boat ...when you and fran JOYFULLY face constant discomfort and challenges. The point is , i love your channel. Your videos are peaceful. Your videos inspire me to do something that i love and not to give up when its tough. Your videos inspire me to be appreciative of what i have in the moment ,focusing on the positives. You both inspire me to respond with solutions ,rather than negativity. These are traits that i have noticed in your channel that OTHER CHANNELS LACK. So i want to say , again , Fran...please dont be insecure about your accent ...because your voice ,your positive words ,your positive attitude , your beautiful character ...is what draws so many of us to watch this channel. You are just such a lovely human and you deserve the best...both of you. Jack ,you are super cool ... love your survival videos and MANN some of them were hectic. Well done. You are perfect for eachother ,two beautiful souls ❤❤:) May you both have PROSPERITY AND ABUNDANCE! Love u guys ❤ Tash
It's been a while since I watched these guys. No wonder Theyve got over a million subs. They both have the bodies of Greek gods. Amazing determination to keep filming after all those wasps! I would have absolutely been DONE. An amazing footage of an octopus, followed by dolphins. Ending up pretending to be a cooking channel. I don't want to but it seems a pity that people like this can't stay young for several hundred years. Reality is we all know that it's really short. But it was AMAZING! PRETTY COOL
Love your channel, but Fran, sea level hasn't risen 3 meters in a year. Strick provided the answer; storm surge from cyclones. Congratulations on 1.24M subscribers. Great content -- you two deserve it.
Great memories for some of us fans too! Thanks for taking us all for a wonderful ride from location to location. You two are a pleasure to watch every weekend. Ok, enough reminiscing...you two need to keep it going and keep us fans watching!?* lol...Have a great weekend; stay safe! duck
Greetings from St Rose,Louisiana and Struck may I say with all honesty, your lady Fran is by far the most beautiful lady on these pod casts. You are one lucky man thank you for sharing your adventures
Gidday guys like other comments we came across you guys again via LaVagabond. You did have another channel we were watching where you towed your boat to Ashmore Reef so this new series appears to be similar, though it could also be a tropical version of Alone Australia run on SBS. We take it that you in the Keeling Cocos group of islands? Would be to good prior to your adventures to sit down and talk to the subscribers about what your intent is what you have with you( equipment etc) obviously you either got dropped off their or your new boat(if you still have) then we the subscribers will be able to fully share this experience. Loved your shop and the natural beauty of the shells used in your apprael. Good luck and we better head back to series one to enjoy this cinematography masterpiece that you have been known for. Be safe, take care and thank you for allowing us to be of you adventures. 👍😇🙏🏝️
Fran IS, without a doubt, the finest example of the human species.❤
Fran = Yum

So jealous of those huge mud crabs they have down there!! Definitely don't see anything like that here in Maine!

Another wonderful episode and it brings back memories for many of your fans too.
Wow, so cool to see the old camp! Might have to go back and watch those episodes again! Thanks for bringing us back!❤
Put a slice of raw potato on the wasp stings or any bug bites to suck out the venom. It works great!
I love watching your videos! You two are so sweet. Sending love and hugs
Those table corals are absolutely massive. Looks like a species of Acropora with Montipora mixed in
I remember that island and the uniqueness of that first adventure very well and it had my imagination and a subscription from the beginning.
That was cool going back. Glad you were able to catch another bone fish there. Being a fly fisherman you can't believe how highly regarded that fish is, almost a religious icon for flyfishing
I remember those episodes, seems like yesterday 🎉 Your videos are the best thing on YT
I was about 15 years old, fishing about 10 miles into the Atlantic at night, off the Florida Keys. 😮 A giant turtle surfaced on our bow anchor line. It made a huge breathing noise before I saw it and it scared the hell out of me. Resembles a large fire rocket launch 🎉

Brilliant guys thank you. Love Fran's corn cooking technique 😲.
Wow. Stung by wasps. He keeps going. Bro, you are the man. More than half of these viewers are in a cubicle. Keep it up.
