As far as making future range type weapons good, they could start with one of the things Shisui's katana does, which was being the first* weapon in the game that actually has non-melee combos without jutsu. With Shisui's katana and good timing, you can combo people from hella far away, and can even combo people on the ground while you are on a wall or vice versa if you place your senbon well. I have not seen anyone else use it that way, and the method Shisui's katana uses for enabling ranged combos is admittedly pretty crude (aoe comboable hard knockdown with really high untech time and minimal knockdown/substitution building), but letting range type actually do something when at a distance is something that future weapons could attempt to replicate. *The second weapon with non-melee combos is on defense type which is hilarious to me. In case you are unaware, the Double Moon Zero sword's grounded heavy attack is another ranged combo enabler (and also another infinite) and can combo into itself if properly timed and spaced with dashes + chakra cancels.

I honestly think they are pretty decent. I have been using them because i just got them and i've been having top kills in almost every game. I mainly use the 2 lights 2 heavy or 3 lights 2 heavy combo then use an ability afterwards to top the damage off. Or pair them up with a burn damage build and use amatarasu or something with good burn damage then use 3 light, 2 heavy into a ranged item and then maybe your second ability. Edit: It's not my prefered weapon. But they aren't half bad if used right

Clay birds, unfortunately, is the only jutsu that travels slow enough for you to get of the heavy attack and have them land simultaneously. I tried majestic and it doesn’t work. But that’s the only other jutsu I tried so you can lab and see if there is any jutsu i left out.
i like using them to stun my foes at a sertain point to where they cant do sertain combo's me as a player i like to use them for sertain aspects in the game so for me i feel like there good in its own way despite the damage and combo system,even though it can be forgiven when using ninjutsu builds/loadouts
I’m thinking the reason they started doing release version of the weapons was because they didn’t have time to include them in launch (probably due to them not making a move set to the skin) so they just reskinned the move set. The launch game was far from completed
Not atm. Gotta wait for them to rotate back into the shop. Unfortunately, they don’t have a rotation schedule for the shop or nwl rewards, so we never know when weapons and cosmetics will return. Could be next week or next year😭

A friend made it for me. I wasn’t expecting it. But I decided to try it out and see how everyone liked it.

It’s the third best range weapon imo. So if you have some spare scrolls to get a flashy comboing weapon you’ll drop in a week, go for it😂
