Being real you feel me out there . I said it time and time again UConn will be back you see players are coming to UConn because they know what's up . there are more coming watch out .
Ashlynn plays like Nika with her toughness and grit to get after players but more of polish offensive threat. I can see her having a huge impact right away at UConn.
I think she just finally got to get on campus. She had made like 3 visits to TN, sometimes when people visit so many times they are unsettled & are looking for something to happen each visit to make them feel it's the right fit. She must have felt immediate comfort at UConn .
Apparently, her trips to Tennessee were as much about joining her brother on visits as anything. Her brother is a HS baseball player being recruited by the Vols.
The Campus at UCONN is amazing as is the practice facility. That didn't hurt at all. There are lots of schools to attend that will lots of games......not so many that have won 14 national championships.
@@savsav5264 / - By the time she gets here she’ll be one of the smallest players. They’ve got really tall players coming in and she won’t play any wing at 5’9”. She’ll be more if a point guard who is expected to score a lot of points. She handles the ball so well the offense will run through her. But of course if she wants to score like a shooting guard she can.
@@shortaybrown I've watched Shade play a lot and am sure she's no PG. Her handle is okay but she's a playmaker and likely physical enough to play wing even at 5-10.
Got to watch her play a few times this past year as our Westfield rocks are in the same conference. Great player and glad she's going to be a Husky!! Hopefully my grand daughter will get to play against her in Varsity this year...
Just saw an interview of her by Storrs Central. They did interviews of the players they called "summer availability". Amazing young lady. Talk about head on straight, Geno only recruits top notch great kids. No punks, no thugs.
Shade is a WOMAN who will be playing WCBB at UCONN. Do you watch "Gentlemen's" CBB or "Men's" CBB ???? Watch the video again and you will hear Hamilton say "we are talking about Women's CBB recruiting.' NCAA WBB '22 is a headline just below the video-box. Please don't make this mistake again. You belittle both the WOMEN and yourself. And please don't refer to these women as "girls" either. Thank You!
Great to hear of another top player, Ashlynn Shade, will play for U Conn. (suggestion, please edit out the unneeded words so you can talk slower on the main content of your facts; I got dizzy trying to catch all your words)
Shade has UConn-type player written all over her. An excellent addition knowing that they're probably not going to get Mikaylah Williams. I'm assuming they'd take three more if they were the right players but likely end up with two more.
Hope Geno drafts some players he plans on actually giving some game time minutes.Times have changed and rookies stuck on bench are leaving which has hurt team.I know u really don't know what ur getting until u see them in practice BUT he has drafted many players who he didn't feel comfortable putting in games even blow outs he needs to improve on this.
i think it have both pros and cons. with senior (all starter) going to go pro or stay (well they gonna leave sooner or later) uconn definitely need more depth and more guard
You act like they going be their four more years when she arrives as a freshman. A player like Ashlynn will have no trouble with playing time. She’s type player that Geno loves.
Welcome to UCONN !!! - Go Huskies..

Thanks for the news.
Uplifting at this time!!!

LOL that's funny!
Boy, I would like to know what flipped the switch from TN to UConn, Does not get any sweeter than that.
For sure. It very interesting how things escalated so quickly to the point now where she's committed. Huge get for Geno and staff

Hello Ashlynn, we will be looking forward to watching you play. Welcome to the UConn Husky family.
Point guard.
5’9” ball handling skills, she’s fast and can shoot ! Right on UConn!
You should see her play Defense
@@BryanCoup1 - totally. I’m excited, she has 4.1 steals a game this year. She’ll be tough to guard or try to score on.
She's a two-guard who will likely play some wing at UConn. The Huskies already brought in a PG in the '23 class.

Hey Ashlynn... Welcome to Husky nation. It's going to be great
to see you in the Husky uniform.

Watched Ashlynn in semi state a month ago. She led team on both ends of floor and also great team player on state champs with no seniors.
Outstanding
Excellent player!! Let's go Huskies!!
Shade is awesome!

Welcome to uconn Nation huskies 1
Congratulations Ashlynn
Man UConn is turning in too gs warriors playing small ball I like it!
I mean that's usually their approach - position less basketball. They won the 2002 title playing small ball. I like to think GS is turning into Uconn

Best players play. End of story
LOL Geno has not gotten his hands on a good or above-average BIG girl in ages! He's got to many average or below average players these days!
Size?
5’10
Much needed player with Saylor no longer with the Huskies. She plays like a more polished Caroline Ducharme.
She is so skilled on the offensive end of the floor. She shoots so smooth and consistent and can handle a little too
@@WHoopsNetwork Christyn and Evina will have graduated so UConn will need backcourt help.
Impressive. Caroline's smooth
I know this is about Shade. But since Ducharme got mentioned, I gotta say really like how she is progressing!
@@jameshouchins9469 I agree completely. The way she is playing right now I think she has been UConn's most valuable player

Long term successor for Paige ? 🤔
Recruiting and coaching are 2 totally different things...he always has a stacked team...

He also has 3 other coaches that assist in recruiting plus an AD. It's not just Geno
Both a great coach and superb recruiter.
a 5-star player going to UCONN? Weird.
UConn's brought in players who weren't even rated in the top-100 of their class as well.
Playing behind Paige, Azzi and Caroline Lol. I will never understand 🤦🏽♂️
It’s called DEPTH!!! Sad to say Azzi and Paige are now injury prone players…when they need her she’ll get those minutes no doubt.

She will be a bench player. UConn already has a point and shooting guard.
Geno would find that claim amusing.
