power, emotion, and range missing? have you watched any performance Keala did? none of that is missing at all - this is a great version of the song but you don't have to bring down what Keala achieved to prop up this
BetaArtemis I'm sorry if it seemed like I was hating on Keala, because I'm totally not, however, there is something about this specific performance that made the song feel more wholesome. Indeed, Keala was great at singing the song, it's just that I could that special "oomph" here that I couldn't in the original. Could it maybe be the fact that this is acapella? Maybe… I don't know. Sorry again for the confusion
Felix the Sloth I suggest watching Keala’s performance at the workshop that got the movie greenlit or her performance at the Academy Awards - if you’re looking for the special oomph that you couldn’t find in the soundtrack version, I think any of those performance should

Ok, I've watched this another six times, and I don't think I'm alone in saying I'd love to see a making-of video of how you put this video together. For instance, the rehearsal process for the singers, how do you choose where you shoot, the process for choosing dancers, how did the choreographer create the movement, how did the editor choose the footage that they went with? As you can see I can go on with a number of questions, as I know there are folks that are interested in doing work like this, and would value the input, guidance and wisdom that you have to share. Just a thought...
