When Jon left, they used Dan as a scapegoat for their anger over the immediate loss of half the face of the channel. They weren't necessarily angery *because* of him, they were just angery *towards* him; they directed their sadness at the new, unknown face instead of embracing the new member

Too many people think about dating as completely different from a friendship, and while there is a romantic side to it, it's not that different. Find a person you enjoy being around and mesh well with, not just someone you think is hot. If they're both, then that's even better.

I've seen Barry stream during the start of the 2nd BLM wave and he was very supportive, just stating that people who are more qualified than him to speak up about it should continue to be given a voice and for allies to do what they can. Always comes off like a politically sensitive real nice dude on stream.

Dan was on point with the scary neighborhood story. Because of shared custody, I grew up part time in a shitty part of Dorchester MA, in a house that literally used to be a crack den, and all the neighbors and nearby store owners were the sweetest people I have ever known.
The moment Ross started telling the story about his friend pissing, his accent went whack

I was working on a big ol essay for school at the time (quite trivial in retrospect) but I am properly working on something big now.
Im saving up & preparing to move out and head to college and go into broadcasting over in fargo. I have a bit of a portfolio started and have saved around 2k and plan to move by next august. I'm excited to get out there in the world and have my own "grump stories" to tell someday

I remembering having a dream that I was being chased by an alien in a coca cola truck. I had that dream every night for 3 years until one day, when I was dreaming I was like 'fuck this' and in the dream I started talking to the alien in the truck and basically told him 'Dude, stop, I'm not scared of you anymore'. And still to this day I have never had that dream ever again. I felt so good the next morning. Now I'm 16 and I had those dreams when I was 8-11.

I totally relate with the introverted extrovert thing. I have a HUGE issue with talking to people. I love to do it when it happens but it’s hard to do. But since I’m socially awkward I don’t talk to many people but then I get really sad because I thoroughly enjoy being with people. It’s hard to explain.

I did something similar to Dan calling his mom "Debbie", because my great aunt and great uncle watched me a lot as a kid, but I always heard my mom call them 'aunt' and 'uncle' so that's what I call them, too.

stardxe this is a super late comment obviously like a year later but Barry left very silently. There was a little “good luck buddy” type thing on Twitter from a lot of the grump people. It seems to me that he just wanted to depart quietly and do his own thing and make a name for himself.

I have definitely blanked on the word "of" in elementary school. It's the only word I have a specific, angry memory of not being able to spell, but when I spelled probably "prabobility" on a poster in 11th grade Statistics, I didn't realize until I was giving my presentation and that was way worse

That Drunk in China story gives me some flashbacks from my trip trough Poland and Czech Republic with my best friend ... we rarely had to buy food or drinks since we always would get invited into homes, where we were introduced to like every single girl in their families ... and they prepared like feasts and even got out the alcohol for breakfast. Such guest friendly people ... but also way too much alcohol.

This was a fascinating compilation. I woke up at 5am this morning on my day off & this really enriched my life. Normally I'm a lazy slob but I was actually very productive this morning from listening to this.
Around 57:00 Arin and Dan are talking about a fuck off state and Arin is trying to cover his tracks he says "I don't mean like a oh fuck off state I mean a state that you go to to fuck off" He literally described his home state twice in one sentence 😂😂😂
On the sleep paralysis thing they mention, this or something like this happens to me sometimes. Every once in a while when waking up in the morning I am completely conscious and aware that I’m awake, but I can’t move a muscle in my body. It’s terrifying every time it happens and I have no idea why it happens. To be fair I haven’t done any research on it or confronted a doctor about it, so I have no one to blame but myself. But yeah sleep paralysis is very real and one of the most terrifying experiences.
Edit: I forgot to mention that this usually doesn’t last too long, about 30 seconds. And I also don’t get the choking feeling like some do.
Most common causes for it are eating immediately before bed/in bed, especially caffienated drinks and food stuffs, and sleeping on your back

It's kinda comforting to hear Dan and Arin say that you are so many different people in your early 20's. I'm 21 and I feel like I don't know people I went to high school with, and I feel I am constantly changing and I'm lost. It's good to know this happens to other people
i just found out that i found arin and danny before game grumps. danny from the animator thing. when i saw him im like who is this dude and im like wow i like his music and then arin, its easy because hes a famous animator and later when i found game grumps im like wow these two guys i like play games together.
