for people who don't want to watch the video: 1. diet cola will float, but the normal type won't, because of how tightly the atoms are packed 2.hot air balloons float because hot air is lighter than cold air 3. a gold coin's density will stay the same if you cut it in half 4. if something is a percentage below water, that same percentage is its density (ex: 40% below water, density: 0.40) 5. ice floats on water because the atoms are less tightly packed, and has a density of about 0.92 please reply if I missed anyhting
I was assigned to watch this for homework, although it didn’t have much I haven’t learned already, it was a finely composed video and could definitely teach anyone about density. My only small complaint is audio quality, but that is a very minor nitpick. Great video!
That make sense! Now i know why my Coors light beer bottles are always broken in the morning when I accidentally leave them in the freezer overnight. Water atoms expands when frozen.
Regular cola has additional molecules from the sugar making it more dense and then sinks A hot air balloon can fly because the air inside is is being heated giving it more room and making it fly The consistency of air inside a hot air balloon is less dense than the air outside. When the air inside the hot air balloon is no longer being heated it starts to slowly fill up with more air and it goes down When things are cut the tightness of the atoms doesn't change The atoms in ice, a solid, are more tightly packed than water, a liquid. Your welcome 🙂
Why does the regular cola sink while the diet cola floats? There are more atoms in the regular cola. In the same space, the regular cola has additional molecules from the sugar.
I am your new biggest fan. Yours are the first videos I've seen where the illustrations exactly match the what you're talking about. This is EXACTLY what I need for my ESL Biology students!!
The soda argument misses some facts. The density of the aluminum can is ~4. So any water in a soda can should sink. The amount of CO2 in the can is what makes it float. The assumption is the the CO2 level is the same. Sugar water is denser than water, but the overall argument here is wrong
the CO2 will make up for the density of aluminium. The difference between the two cans is that one has sugar and one does not. They are both made from aluminium, they both contain carbon dioxide, water etc, but only one contains sugar. So the density of the can with sugar is greater than the density of the diet can. Which is why the diet can floats while the other one doesn't. I think that is the overall argument.
@@css9750 That is the overall argument, it is just scientifically wrong. If the can was full of water it would sink. To go beyond this point, you have to make assumptions that the density difference is ALL because of the sugar. There is no explanation why the diet coke floats. You make the assumption that the head space of the can is the same volume, the amount of CO2 is the same and that it does not effect the density, the amount of phosphoric acid is the same etc.
Sir, very nice illustrations.. but how you make this illustrations.. I am also doing some facts videos where I need some customised illustrations.. please help..
+Farmil.K Faralki thank you I draw the images on an iPad app called Adobe Ideas then make the videos in Apple's Keynote where I make presentations and add a voice over then save as a video file. Let me know if you need more help.

Thank you!!!!!!
the atoms in water are more tightly packed that ice, which is why ice floats.

Nice video. This can be used from elementary to a high school science class. Thanks
Thanks for watching I'm glad you liked it!

Also doesn't liquids molecules spread farther apart then sold molecules so how come the atoms from the ice are more spread out?

bro I was told to this by my teacher
Same deal with most everyone here, myself included
I don't understand the last fact. How can the ice have molecules farther apart than the the liquid state of water?
+Chucklepuff when water is in the liquid state the molecules can move around but when frozen the molecules arrange themselves into fixed positions
Yea, but I thought since it is becoming a solid, the molecules would move closer together.

When did Diet Coke have less sugar than regular Coke?
"Diet" coke
if this is 99.99% of the comment section's hw, then 99.99% are probably 6th graders or just 7th graders on really bad classes

That are some great advices from you sir! But one major question, are these free apps? and easy to use? available on android?
Farzam's H.Q This might be a to late response, but Keynote is not availabe on Android. It is an Apple app only for iOS.
