Yeah, kind of reminds me of one of the first 107 facts about The Lion King, "This was also the first time people raised their frightened cats into the air, like they were Simba". X' D
@@jeanderbar Not so epic these days. The original jungle sounds that played over the Disney logo before this song have been cut short by the current logo’s fanfare on current Blu-ray and digital releases.
The entire scene that goes with this song plays in my head every time I hear it. From the young giraffe exiting the shadow, to the entire Savannah bowing before the young prince Simba... Everything. Love The Lion King and it will always hold a dear place in my heart.
This will always be the best Disney animated film in my opinion. I've seen nearly every Disney animation ever, and as wonderful and magical as they all are, none hold a candle to this film. I connected to so many of the characters, and to think, they were all animals! That's how brilliant this film is.
I agree 100%. And yet you go to Animal Kingdom and they don't have a lot in regards to the Lion King. They have the show and the tree of life but that's about it.
I saw this movie with my Mom on opening weekend back in 94'. That was quite an emotional experience. To this day I still get chills and shed tears at the opening of this movie. CIRCLE OF LIFE is the most beautiful and most powerful song I've ever heard. Today I played this movie for my son. He turns 2 in a couple of weeks. He loved every second of it. I felt proud looking at my little boy just as Mufasa was proud of Simba.
This was the last movie I watched with my older brother before he died. They played the Circle of Life at his funeral. I always felt too sad to watch it until recently when I did with my younger sister. About 20 years later.
+null98Jeff I'm sorry for your loss, but that's a very beautiful music choice for the funeral. It makes this already emotional song even more so for me now.

I did not watch "every" disney movie as a kid in the 90's. But the only movie(and therefore soundtrack) still bring's a tear to my eyes is the lion king. Damn that movie left a damn mark... Great!
Excellent example of how a musical number fits seamlessly into the film and score's setting and tone, and not just some Broadway showtone that's feels like it's randomly slapped into the film. (I'm looking at you Frozen)
I like Frozen a lot, but it isn't even close to Lion King. All of the songs from Lion King are iconic, while Frozen only has 2, maybe 3 songs that are well known outside of the Frozen fanbase.
This song moves me to tears as an adult, mostly from the nostalgia (I'd watch it nearly every day as a kid and cry multiple times during the movie) but also from the emotions and artistry of this work
Happy 30th Anniversary to one of my favorite childhood movies: The Lion King! This is one of the few movies that I watched, probably about 200 times. I had it on VHS, and I'm surprised that it never wore out!
When I met my niece, the first girl for my family in 26 years, for the first time when she was a 6 day old newborn (as she was born in the year of the 20th anniversary of the animated edition of The Lion King), this song and its corresponding scene came to my mind.
I was teaching elementary school in South Central LA when this move first came out. It was the anthem for my 3rd graders, who came from the most challenging home environments imaginable. These songs gave them hope.....
I just remember I was about 9 years old, when this song began at the movie theater and all the animals would come out, 25 years later I can watch the move and feel like I´m there again, when everything was easy.
I watched this movie for the first time yesterday and it raised the bar so high that I feel like i'll never be able to be satisfied with anything else ever.
I can still remember watching this movie 3x back to back with my sister, pretty insane. It's my favorite animation movie and hold the nr'1 spot together with Jurassic park of my personal favorites (both are immersive and teaches us something about the principles of life in their own way). That said, I went to the lionking musical in Broadway, that felt like a dream come true and was worth every penny.
