What a neat kit. I remember building Snake's white Hot Wheels Top Fuel slingshot (the 1970 car) with my grandfather, in the mid 1980s. He let me apply the Keith Black Racing Engines decals... and my grandfather was the real Keith Black. Miss you, grandpa.
This kit is basically the Young American dragster reissue kit. It even has the "too big" body fit issue under the engine! Notice how its scraping the ground? To builders....if you have the headers from the Don Garlits rear engine kit, they look way more accurate than these units in this kit. There's also a 1/16 scale version from Revell thats been around for years too. Nice video's!! Its nice to be able to see what comes in the kit.
I just completed my 1st ever rail car. Oh what a pain in the arse ! The model is the very original MPC JAWBREAKER 40 years old. When I was 26 I managed a place called Allied hobbies in Langhorne Pennsylvania and models would come back missing parts ( CUZ THE CUSTOMERS LOST THE FRIGGIN PARTS !) we could not send back to our distributor so we ate it and they sat in our storeroom as junk. I finally bought them all up at cost. This kit was sitting on my shelf for 30 something years and I finally got the urge to build it. THANK GOD for Testors Aluminium plate in a can. I wish they would do most or all of their "metalizers" in rattle cans. It would be very helpful and convenient. As alway's,HPIGUY builds another masterpiece 😎👍🏎🚘🚙🚛🚚🛵🚖🚒☝️👍

The biggest issue with front engine dragsters wasn't really clutch explosions it was because of the threat of engine fires, you can imagine going 200 mph and you engulfed in flames which a lot of drivers experienced just that first hand. Either way it could be a really bad day when these things happen to a driver. 🤬

Not advisable. You can order glue from Modelroundup.com if no stores are around you.
When you say rinse off your parts. Could you please explain the procedure? Thank you.
See my video on painting models with cheap spray cans.
Thank you.
Hey, just look at the latest Space X pressure test explosion - THAT was a mistake...
LOL
what kind of glue are you using to put them models together
I like Bondene.
Gday Chris, would you be able to give me anymore advice for applying the decals? Mine just cracked as the moisture hit them
Check out my review of the Enterprise D. I lay a LOT of decals on that one.
What parts are here seem to be detailed and realistic though...
One more question. Which sanding stick grit do you use for the tires?
It's a nail file from the dollar store.
Thanks again.
I wonder if The Snake drove this top fuel dragster before of after he switched to funny cars and the days of the match races with The Mingoose!!
Mongoose.. Typo.. Fat Fingers.. 😆!
I know you use rust-oleum on most of your models. How long do you let it dry before sanding or putting on decals.
24 hours or so, but I keep the shop dehumidified too.
I don't sand, it's spray and pray. No time to sand and fiddle. Two days on average per kit. :)
