Two BMW K1600 GTs on the dyno. Which one made more power? The 2012, or the 2020 with Brentuning ECU?

- Our 2012 BMW K1600 GT got it's butt handed to it by our BT-Moto ECU flashed 2020 K1600 GT. The air filter on the 2012 was dirty - will it be enough for redemption, or will it go down in flames again?
Thanks for posting this great video, I cringe when I see aftermarket filters fitted to motorcycles God knows what damage they do, and valve adjustments that are never needed with stock filters that don't let junk into engine. Interesting to see if small power increase with factory filter over Snake oil K&N Filter.
OMG I am so happy I came across this video. Thank you for posting. I wonder what I could do to make improvements prior to the tuning??? Advice anyone?
Definitely agree with you about the maintenance. Especially when you invest 30 k on it.

Thanks for the video, other than opening up the exhaust and the k&n air filter have you done any other power modifications to get those numbers? I'm also wondering if a bren tune would increase the power any on the older bike? Just purchased a 2013 GT with 16,000 mi so I'm looking forward to tinkering with it
Great video. I've got a 2015 K1600gt I purchased new. I absolutely love the bike. It's a beast. I'll be upgrading to a new one before the spring (I live in Maryland). I've read a ton about the newer bikes with all the enviro bs. This seems to be an easy work around. Just wondering about the warranty and if they'd notice the mapping change when servicing the bike.

Well no that’s new filter And likely more importantly a new dyno tune.
I like this video and the moral to the story is to check your air filter and clean or replace as needed.

I hadn't planned on tuning the earlier bike, but now that you mention it, I might have to do that...
When you brentune the bike does it affect the manufacture warranty?
Nope. They can't see it, and I can easily reinstall the factory tune in a few min if needed.

Thanks for the update. Still going to get the Brentune for my 2021 GTL, but looking like next year. Just became a 1st time Grandpa, so got to keep cash reserves for that. Do you recommend the K&N airfilter? I also have a Remus exhaust which I love. She pops like crazy. I do have K&N on my truck.
Well, it certainly seems to flow more air. There's tons of controversy as to whether they filter as well, but I've used them for 40 years and never had an engine issue from lack of filtration.
I meant to ask you about the exhaust. Did you get the Remus or is it still stock?
It is still stock. Just having a tough time spending that much money for so little gain. Once you step up and add headers, it helps. But for now, I'm fine!
