    Im confused about why you placed the stumps first only to remove them one by one to put dirt in. Would it not have been easier to lay the dirt in the first place?

    Tremendo trabajo!!!!! Muy hermoso. Los tramoya no se ven. Con esta pinta más bien parece actor de cine. Pero es un gran trabajo.

    Thank you for your video... You did a splendid job... I am hoping to do something like this though I am nearly 80 years old and very small woman so not sure if I can manage it all by myself. Of course I will have to get someone to cut the wood slices for me.

    Do you suggest sealing the logs. Also, was that regular dirt or should I use polymer sand? My original plan was to use sand then tree rounds and then fill cracks with river rock

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  Рік тому +4

      I think it's a good idea. I filled the cracks with ordinary soil so that later grass would grow there

    Soundtrack(music) is really nauseating. The path, however, is great.

    Very nice. I recently (and unfortunately) had to cut out 2 big pine trees. - 12-14 meter long and 40-50 centimer wide. Could it work from pine as well?

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  Рік тому

      I think it is possible, but pine will not be very durable

    Hi, It’s very impressive. How are they in the way of durability, do they hold up for a long time? If I apply them to our walkway: will I observe cracks on them in future?

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  2 роки тому

      It is not very durable and depends on the wood chosen

    Very cool! Does the wood ever rot? How long would it last in the ground like this?

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  10 місяців тому

      Yes, of course, wood will rot over time. How long this will last depends on the type of wood. It is advisable to choose moisture-resistant wood such as oak

      It’s been 3 years since this walkway has been serving me and nothing has happened to it yet. Although sometimes mushrooms grow on it

    I suppose Ash isn’t a good option?

    • @shadyman6346
      @shadyman6346 2 роки тому +2

      Actually, ash is very alkaline, so it’d take a long time for weeds to emerge. This is because it would jack up the soil PH level...You just can’t grow plants for a few months in or along path.

    Can you list the bags of materials you used? Do you need to treat the wood at all?

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  3 роки тому +4

      I haven't treated the wood because:
      - it takes a long time,
      - it costs money,
      - I don't want to pollute my soil with chemicals,
      - there is an opinion that it is ineffective.
      I used the materials i had in stock: wallnut wood and broken bricks, but it is better to use moisture-resistant wood such as oak and crushed granite.

      @@eco_crafting Hi! I truly enjoyed watching your labor of love. Smile. Beautifully done using resources we already have!!! Quick question... would eucalyptus wood work for a walkway and small garden patio areas. Had 6 trees cut down as planted garden boxes in the area. Previously nothing would grow. Oil from leaves, twigs, bark off eucalyptus prevented. I still have about 25 eucalyptus trees. Just not close to the house where I wanted to place garden. Then you for your input.

    • @eco_crafting
      @eco_crafting  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately I do not know the properties of eucalyptus wood

      @@eco_crafting Thank you for a very interesting video clip. I am a straw and clay builder from Sweden considering doing a similar walkway in my garden from oak stumps. However I think about putting clay, perhaps reinforced with similar material you use and on top inbetween the stumps gravel at a smaller size.
      Also one option would be on top of the stumps to burn them, similar to the japanese Yakisugi technique. Preservation bottom and top since clay preserve materials unlike dirt and soil.
