Problem with present Lego trains is the cost. This concept of "My Own Train" to have options and smaller separate parts to make it more affordable is much more appealing. They've done similar things before like with Helm's Deep. The outer wall is small, but it keeps the cost down and you just buy extensions for more. Or, be content with just the outer wall. I would love that. Like $10-$15 for each wagon or carriage $50 base locomotive (+$20 if it had a tender I guess) And then sets like big stations, simple platform stations, switch towers, grade crossings, etc. That's be epic. Say like Shinkansen. Base set are the two end units with a passenger unit to make it a three piece. Then they sell the passenger units separately on top of that if you want to build a proper Shinkansen trainset. Brilliant!
@@DZstudios. your welcome and i only have the 2022 passenger express train set along with 3 custom freight cars i made but they don't have any wheels or magnets for them yet the first one is a flatbed that can hold 4 pallets and the 2nd is a custom fuel tanker for filling vehicles and aircraft and the 3rd is a custom horse transporter that can hold 6 horses without saddles
I think it should too... sometimes it happens to me that I like only one of the wagons of a train and I have to buy the whole set .... I think it's a marketing issue anyway... In my project for now there are only original sets
Once had the santa fe and bnsf with 4 carriages along with the freight train and track...then I got a girl and she hated all things that were mine so she binned them along with about 30 other sets. LESSON OF THE DAY-, KEEP YOUR LEGO!
Lego needs to get TrixBrix onboard, TB has so many different track radiuses which can accommodate all the big engines people are posting on Lego Ideas. I've been working on a model of PRR #6100, a 6-4-4-6 duplex locomotive (both sets of drivers are on the same rigid frame). Given Lego's standard 40-stud radius curves and switches, my "Iron Titan" is restricted to only straight track. With TrixBrix, that wouldn't be an issue.
Lego needs to make smaller sets and sell locomotives and train cars separately. The current sets are all too expensive. It's a huge barrier to entry. There haven't been any small steam engines in over 20 years! Even the cheapest current locomotive still costs over 120 bucks. Why can't they make a small tank engine for 30 to 40 bucks?
I feel like not as many people kept buying Lego trains as they became different and not having a lot of steam locomotives and diesel trains as they used to and they were doing electric ones instead which may have been a bigger reason to it not being as popular and I liked the original Lego tracks as they were rails and the sleepers which ment you could make the rails themselves disconnect in a train derailment which would be more realistic to something you would see in real life as Lego trains evolved backwards and in a way got worse and this video only shows why we need stuff like this to keep Lego trains a ongoing franchise as if we don't the Lego train era may end but with Mattel helping with the Lego brand in Lego idea's and in a lot of their choices of making Lego sets its only leading to worse things as when Mattel took control of thomas and friends it all went downhill as the we're barely any gems in that era and someone made Lego thomas and some of his friends but let's hope Lego trains are helped by the fans who lived the past and to see it today as its decayed and went backwards in its evolution so lets hope it will be fixed of some of the imperfections its made throughout the Lego city era
Lego ruined itself by only making licensed sets exclusives and that many sets became a collector item like a Rolex watch instead to stay like it was before "a toy for kids to play with and have thousands hours of fun and billions of ideas" . Who are those people who decide Trains , Pirates, Knights/Castle, Cowboys and Space isn't what kids love ?? It is still what kids dreams about not be a freaky super hero . Also alot of our vintage sets could be easily remade by Lego but their excuses is the old molds and colors doesn't exist anymore which for me is a lie . I loved the train sets i had many of the late 70's and 80's ones besides many other Lego sets , sadly i sold them later on to get my Playstation 1 and my first computer which i regret alot but glad i can still remember those magical times from my childhood . The sets back then were cheap compared to those from today who is insane and is a shame because not all families can afford buying Lego which is sad for many kids from around the world .
Dude if Lego made a train theme they would basically become a money factory
Just from us two 😂

I cannot agree more at all I❤️ lego and trains
Personally i would love for Lego to sell individual train sets like different types of both passenger and freight cars
Exactly! Thanks

They should do it in 2 sizes
I need a lego gevo
They should also sell just the carriage frames just for people to use them with all their random pieces
Like a starter kit
Also: roller coaster
WE NEED A LEGO UNION PACIFIC BIG BOY!
We need someone who can make even bigger letters‼️

i would like to see a lego train theme
Who have a lego Shinkansen train
I have two shinkansen's
Like here
quick question, where did you find those little clip arts of people such as at 3:29 ?
Irasutoya, you can use 20 per project then it is free!
1:56 Thanks you:)
I wonder what would happen if you open sourced the theme?
...I don't write any line of code for it so I don't know how I would legally do that
@@DZstudios. opensource doesn't mean coding. What i mean is your design is published for everyone to make small itterations and improvements to it
@@tld8102 oooh I understand! Most of my designs are incomplete so I would have to finish them first

Hey

Why not just buy BlueBrixx instead? They have quite a large offering of detailed 8 studs wide model trains.
