Hey thanks for all the comments! I just want to clear things up a little. From my understanding, there are two paths to training "Iron Body". 1. The "Brute Force" method popularized by Shaolin training which is a gradual desensitizing and toughening of the skin and muscle tissue through getting hit repeatedly. 2. The "Internal" method used by some tai chi, chi gong and taoist practitioners which strengthen the bone, fascia (connective tissues), tendons and it is trained through relaxation, alignment and mind intent. I am training the second method here, if you watch closely, I am relaxing at the moment of impact, which is counter-intuitive to the "tensing up" for a hit. So my goal is to use as little "muscle toughness" as possible and rely on the other body structures. Both methods work, but method 1 has it's limits, because as you get older, muscles become weaker and your body can only withstand so much damage over time. Whereas method 2 can be developed without limits because tendons, fascia, and bone are stronger and last much longer than muscles. And method 2 is way less painful. Also, I haven't mentioned how chi comes into play to take your ability to even higher levels, but I I'm sure there's a lot of skeptics out there, so I'll leave that out. Also I would like to clarify that I'm not here to show how "tough" I am, my current ability is still relatively low, and if someone punched me in the face, of course it would hurt. This video is not a fighting technique, it is only a demonstration of this "Soft" structure and maybe open your eyes to another path on your martial arts journey (Yin vs Yang).
Thank you so much for this demonstration. This is absolutely in line with some of the teachings I've read and seen in regards to Taoist and Tai Chi techniques, however I've never truly been able to reproduce, likely due to underdeveloped levels of chi. Developing my chi is something I'm beginning to work on seriously for the first time in this life, as skepticism has prevented/stunted my growth and development for too many years already. For many, the physical feats and visible results are all they will be able to cling onto mentally. I truly believe the best martial artists in past times incorporated mind, body, and spirit into their daily routines. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge
Wing Chun Kid - Tai Chi JKD Kung Fu For skeptics, this is actually pretty true even if you want to think about it scientifically. Anecdotally we can think about how drunk people who fall from high up but don't get hurt because their muscles don't tense up. Another example is like hitting a sponge vs hitting wood or something of the like, the sponge is soft and squishy and compresses all the force. Meanwhile the wood will have a focused point or fracture point where all the force will be delivered, breaking or splintering the wood. Physically, if we think about inertia and momentum, we can start to look at this in the context of collisions. In collision of a fist and a person yhe energy wants to be conserved, and if you are "hard" (no innuendo intended), you are minimizing the kinetic energy transfer by staying rigid and acting in opposition to the force, but in the energy will stay conserved and will transfer at that same force but instead your muscles will take that force directly which will be painful. If you are "soft", unrigid and elastic, you will move with the force, or rather, the force will maintain being transfered as kinetic energy or transfered as mechanical energy because you are moving with it rather than against it. In this method your body will not take the brunt of the force but will rather keep moving and have the energy transfered through it because instead of staying still and rigid you are transferring that force elasticly letting your body move with it and not having all that energy transfer right into your muscles. Although the "soft method" will indeed affect your bones more because you are not using your muscles to shield them so that energy is being mechanically transfered directly onto your bones, which might explain why this method needs bone strengthing techniques. I hope this was sensical because I had trouble fully expressing what I was thinking accurately.
Correct. He is using whipping power, much the same as a rattan cane being bent then released. The power accumulates until it reaches the peak when the forward movement stops. In wing chun, the person usually goes about three inches past the point of contact, which allows the power generated to go deeper into the structure, causing more pain and damage. Well said. The last parts were very informative.

*From what I'm getting and experiences from fighting and training.* I can see how being tense/stiff makes your body to endure stronger attacks like a very tough and strong stick that you try breaking in half. It will break but it just requires a lot more force. But when you come across a soft/ flexible stick and you try breaking it in half. You can't, you have bent it and twisted but it's still in one piece. I train in a rather tense martial art where it requires strong muscles and bones and in general, a strong body to endure(this is Muay Thai). You can't strengthen the tendons and fascia. But it is altered daily to fit the needs your body goes through. Like weight lifters, the fascia readjusts to allow the body to lift more and for flexible people the fascia adjusts to be more flexible. Also I'm getting that I should implement this to a certain degree to my training. When I train I have a relaxed body when I'm moving to allow quicker movements and tense up when Im striking and taking hits. I have a rather evasive style regardless of my traditional training and don't like being hit so this would be very good for my training. I perceive this as when Im about to take a punch to the face, I don't tense up my neck muscles to endure the punch but rather move my head in the direction the punch is coming to not only reduce impact area but the force the punch could have rattled inside your head. But I've already have been moving my head away from punches but besides just my head, I can use my whole body to reduce impact. Though the only problem I see with this is stability, balance and protection. If I get decked on my body I can reduce the impact by becoming a noodle while also being imbalanced as it will be hard to get my body back in place when bent. The organs in the body have muscle to protect it in the first place so being relaxed will make the organs vulnerable. Being hit in places like the arm and leg is fine seeing how strong bones makes up for relaxed muscle. I have conflicting thoughts of how I can use this properly since balance is important to me.
it's a very interesting concept that most people don't think about. I likened it as having a pillow fight where you are exerting a lot of energy to swing that pillow with very minimal effect on the other person. Or hitting someone who is very obeast with your energy as his his body absorbs all the energy by being relaxed . Hard to explain.
Thank you for demonstrating. As a person who haven't practised WC, it is nice to see the idea demonstrated. I don't care if it would work in a street fight, what exact force your friend pounces with, as these issues are not the point of this video at all
Great demonstration of how softness can overcome the hard again. You notice that he is hurting HIS arm when hitting against the softness of the wing chun guy. Another great demonstration!
donnell outlaw the reason why drunk drivers are usually less damaged/sore in a general non fatal wreck is because they are more relaxed and are slower to react thus they do not tense up all of their muscles. On the other hand a sober person would naturally tense up and take the impact head on while the drunk person would just flow with it.
NED 43 I don't know but it feels so funny to think that a drunk person just go with the flow while sober one got tense and get hit 😂😂this. should be written on all bars as a business strategy😂😂😂
In this assessment, the conscious man is now 'going with the flow' of the attacker's punch. How does the conscious person reflect it in terms of having/ activating a 'soft body'? Is it ignoring the natural reaction of the body and taking/ riding/ going with the flow of the punch?
Good technique but it needs some clarification. The actual reason this "soft" method works is because you increase the time of the collision. Mathematically speaking, △p=F/t whereas p is momentum, F is force, and T is time. If you increase time, then you decrease the force because the more time you have, the more F is divided up into. Generally speaking, more time means less force.🙂
You see what he said? He said the first time, there was no bounceback, because his body was stiff. Once he relaxed, the power was bouncing back because of the tension in the person's arm. That is a very good analogy of soft wing chun. When you body is relaxed and soft, you are able to take more energy and disperse it. When you are stiff, you take the energy in it's concentrated form, and that makes it hurt much more.
Thanks dude! So say I am about to take a hit, and quickly turn to a relaxed state, as if I am ready to take it, will it actually reduce the amount of force produced by the punch/kick?
im 57 years old ,, i like the look of softness,, i have done wing chun many years ago, under samual kwok, here in uk .. but iv got old and slightly disabled to my left arm .. thank you ..
straight forward. realistic demonstration, instant feedback from both persons, and a controversial subject. Enjoyed it very much, especially since trying to understand the basis of soft structure. Thanks a lot
Wing Chun techniques are considered a "hard" style. But imagine if you can add "soft" power to them... One of my teachers has mastered this and can send anyone flying with one "soft" punch. Questions?
My Wing chun instructor is the same he is an ex cage fighter who hits incredibly hard but uses softness and whipping to generate devastating techniques. I think Bruce lee described the normal punch as being hit by an iron bar whereby a kung fu punch is like being hit by an iron bar on the end of a chain. Any muscle tension you have stops the flow of energy and in some cases if you are really tense when throwing a punch / technique you can injure / pull muscles and tendons i've done this myself when i first started out.
No, REAL wing chun is internal. Only the modified system use the hard system because they don't know the whole system and have to make certain changes for the system to work when the whole system isn't used. The traditional systems, like Sifu Mox and his system, are internal and soft. These are the ORIGINAL systems back in the 17th century that was being used and taught. It was only changed when Chan the money changer spied on Leung Jan to learn the system. Jan knew of this and modified the system to take out all the soft aspects, proper footwork(he took out the angling aspect), and proper way to close the distance. But it seemed to work well for Chan, being taller and larger than most Chinese. He was able to make it work for him.
There was NO Ng Mui or Wing Chun. When you people get that through your heads? There was never any records of either one ever existing, and at that time, records were being kept. It was just a rouse to keep the Manchurian government off the tracks of the Shaolin Temple, where they were training and developing their new martial art, wing chun. It consists of the five martial arts of the five elders, White eyebrow, white crane, choy li fut, hung gar and shaolin.
It's not so much a myth, MJ as a difference of approach. Training hard limits the amount of power you can produce because the muscles can only produce a limited amount of power, depending on the force of contraction. Internal power is unlimited and can be harnessed and channeled much like a laser can.
now i understand finally the principle of softness against stiffness..the principle used by pussies to withstand and absorb the hard pounding of a super stiff boner! thank you master..! REPLY
Okay let me try to clarify some things. I'm all for chi, nature energy, or what have you, but there comes a point where things get ridiculous and here's why. Fighting is alive. You don't have time to think "okay soft style let me get ready." There is no such thing as bouncing energy back. There is something called "redirecting" and using the opp. force against them, but no chi magic soft style. You want to minimize damage? Workout. Want to avoid it? Learn to slip and block punches and kicks. Relying on "chi" without effort is a good way to get you hurt. If you're 135lbs, don't go messing with a doggone 220lbs guy like you can scrap with him. Hit him in the jewels and run away like a maniac. Survival is victory. Want to "softly" avoid a punch? SLIP IT. That's the greatest soft style there is. Even Bruce Lee worked out and used basic body conditioning, like dropping a medicine ball on his abs. Develop and condition rock hard resistance through smart hard training. Slam a board across your back if you want to and you'll find injuries catch up to you down the line. So please, know that when fight or flight kicks in you won't be relaxing your limbs. Or taking long breaths with your eyes closed. You'll find the situation becomes quite "alive." If you think I'm lying.....go have a 210lbs man punch you with his fist, not forearm across a wide surface. A concentrated punch. Let me know if soft style works. I can guarantee you slip that punch next time it comes your way. I'm not dissing you @wingchunkid but posting things like this is powerfully misleading to the uninitiated. I'm a practitioner of JKD also. There is a reason Bruce Lee broke away from traditional nonsense. And he even spoke out against those so called mystic fighting chi style whatever. Food for thought.
Pei Mei I agree with you I would go further to say. you should be working out anyway it's good for your health but it's not worth training for 20 years to learn how to fight. just move to an area where there are no hooligans around waiting to punch your head in. this whole fighting thing is such BS.
nosson77 I agree to a certain extent. I'm not saying dedicate your life to fighting, because all of us can't be super hyper 3 red tab black belts. But we are all aware that trouble can find you regardless of where you are. I'd say learn enough to at least get away from a situation or survive. Survival is key. It's why martial arts was created. Not good to walk around dumb founded
The vids a bit daft and the whole look im not holding my sore arm section was priceless but there is a great point to it all. Of course everything you said was right but the icing on the cake of all that would be to deliver the goods relaxed. All the greats have that little extra fluidity and calm in the moment. It reminds me of a car crash stat i heard once, people asleep in the passenger get injured less. Theres a little something in there but id never train to recieve hits either...just sayin
Oh wow, I've always taught myself and this is how I normally hit and defend ever since I was a child. I always thought it was normal mainly cos it made a lot more sense. I'm not an expert or anything so I've never understood it from a martial arts point of view. However I do like science and I've always applied it in my life. This is a bit of a revelation for me so I'm glad I stumbled upon this video so thankyou for posting.
Hey thanks for posting this vid I just started wing chun and this is what my teacher has been telling me. When your friend hits you is the force going through your heels in to the ground, so although you're soft the impact/force goes through you in to the ground. Thanks (I subbed too)
Excellent vid. - enjoyed it - thank you! you are exceptionally talented bro! I can imagine how accomplished you will be as time goes by! Its a tribute to you and your teacher/s. I learnt a very similar approach to being hit in my SYSTEMA training...its a constant modulation between degrees of 'hard' & 'soft' as each moment requires...
Ok, as a Chinese, i do believe in 以柔克刚, which is defeating the hardness with softness, but i have tried with my friend who also does the something, but whenever i punch in his chest, he has to move or twist his body somehow, according to his words, the reason why he twsited his body was becuase he was trying to reduce the physical conduct to the ground by moving, its just like how if someone punches u and u are free to fall back, but it will hurt much more if the person has to take a punch without any move. but in this video, for the first few punches the dude did not move his body at all ,i felt like he just took the 100% impact of the attack, so i am just questioning about his..
Wing Chun Kid - Tai Chi JKD Kung Fu but i dont understand tho, cuz the way he does it is redirecting the energy to outside, but u said u are redirecting the energy inside ur body, which mean the impact is still there
+Mike Shu To be honest it's difficult to explain, because it's something you can't see and you have to learn it by feeling. but most tai chi masters can do this. Whether you believe it works or not is up to you, if you really want to learn this method, I'm sure you will find an answer. O
now i understand finally the principle of softness against stiffness..the principle used by pussies to withstand the hard pounding of a super stiff boner! thank you master..! REPLY
I understand the analogy and what he's trying to use to explain a "firm stand and relax control". the transfer of energy, however it's more so by understanding the art nature in the Rhythm of Life. this is hard and a bit more complex to teach , it's easier acquired through understanding and it will take some people longer than others
This is well known and there are additional ways to direct the force of an attack back to the attacker. With a bit of practice but it takes a lot of constant practice to bring if from the Realm of Performance to that of Application. A lot of Martial Enthusiasts don't really know how to make that change, Furthermore, it isn't good practice to remain in one spot for more than a second or two, and in a real fight situation, it can get you hurt, particularly when being involved in a Donnybrook . . . no matter how much fun it can be! Be Well and Stay Safe Folks
You're basically "going with" the hit if you make yourself "soft." When you stiffen up you're making your arm more of a hard solid structure which will definitely hurt more. Basic physics here, when force is applied to something that is stiff or still it'll be all the force that is going onto that certain object, but if you loosen it or make it "soft" the force of the punch decreases.
true for a point object however the control of our body can determine whether the force generated is from a holistic approach or from a segregated approach... keeping your body tense means you cannot use your joints freely which in turn stop you from using your entire body weight, whereas a relaxed body allows you to free use your joints so that the weight of your body from the feet can transfer all the way up to the wrist and fist without wasted energy and motion
ピンクオメガ Tee in my opinion physics are common sense. Force hits one ball, the ball takes all the force, the force hits 5 balls, the general force is divided by five, all soft structure really is, is increasing he amount of points that the force is being distributed across to cause less reaction and expense of energy. I learned that in middle school.
The haters are being harsh, he's only a kid. Not your best video mate but you've made some great ones. I've loved Wing Chun for years & still enjoy your videos. With a few more training you could be phenomenal. Good luck!
Greetings Wing Chun Kid. I wanted first off say you posted another great video. .I am going to work on this technique cause I'm not doing my weekly local school practice as of yet, one reason my age and shoulder and elbow joints have impingement along tendonitis and bursitis and I have gotten out of being down and out with a serious case of Bronchitis with a touch pneumonia so the last couple of weeks has been anything but good...I've thought of trying back into the game of golf and keeping my Callaway Big Bertha driver handy for when I need to the sweet spot of the club head as a defense tool...lol...but in all seriousness I'm going to have slow down some but will continue to watch and try and practice some of your stuff and do some Qigong at my local wing chun school. Talk to you later have a great week ahead.
Who gon kill who ??? Bruh I did time 4 my sins...15 yrs....sooo who gon kill who??? I wish 4 a challenge then...bring that pressure over here hommie??? Wanna location??? 😃😃😃
With all honesty... You're the best one who explains it all Thanks a lot This tip is soooo useful for me and girls in general Good luck on your channel buddy
This dude is cool shit. Wish I could train with him. Did martial arts growing up. Stopped. My life went to shit. (Not because I stopped) getting involved in martial arts would be a huge benefit. Hanging out with someone like this would be good for the soul.
It's quite simple really. "Energi goes where tension flows". (human vs human of course). The energi looks for free space or traveling energisources to travel with and tension in muscles is using energi. It's like finding it's family in a completely full energi-room and the new energi is at least the same size or number but gets pushed indside the room and the door try to slam behind them. So still holding the ironbar durring and after impact will not allow the energi to find freespace on it's way back and travels through your body instead as long it can go. The muscles with the MOST tension will recieve most or all of the energi/damage with strong violent vibrations like guitarstrings do when played. If you want to make sure that your generated energi leaves you with any strike. You need to relax every time and learn how the biomechanical chain of energi works. (Softly)
That's like a systema philosophy. You let the force jumble thru all of you instead of tensing and localising. You share the load with your body which can often make the attack negligible. It's hard to do while moving and fighting, but that's where practice comes in.
I literally strike trees, cement and steel in my training. It's really not a big deal if you relax, sink/root, and have the correct mind intent. People are often baffled that I can hit these things without the energy returning to me in a commensurate manner, but they simply don't have an awareness of body like some of us trained in the internal arts have. We could sit here and argue and theorize for years, or you could find someone who knows what they are doing to put your "troubled" mind at ease with a simple touch. Amituofo
I really enjoyed your video.Do you think you could rise the level a bit and use that softness skill with direct punch in the face? That would be great!
What we learned is the difference between hard medium and soft style and what that means that's what we learn from this lesson the difference between hard and soft
Hello David I like this and I think your softness have a peace that y you can do if it's right tell And I have to say one thing the peace is more powerful than any thing Thank you
I think the reason Larry hurts himself when he hits you isn't because you are returning his force to him - that's just not physically possible. That's like saying hitting a pillow hurts more than hitting a wall. I'm think it's more likely because simply relaxing already prompts Chi to flow around your body, and it's really your Chi that hurts him whenever he hits you.
all these martial arts is great to stay and shape and as a hobby, and if by some chance who had to use it when your outside your home etc.. it's great to know you can defend yourself with confidence, no matter which martial art your using.
you most likely will not see wing chun in the octagon as it is not meant to be governed under rules restrictions, it goes against its very nature. you may see wing chung aspects and influences but not the whole art.
Normally I agree with most of your techniques but these are not good defenses or plans for protecting yourself by absorbing punishment. Those impacts are putting you at alot more risk that him. It would be much better to ride with his impact an flow back so your not absorbing much and then as he's resetting give him heavy impacts to prevent him from delivering another! 🙏🏼
this is a very good video, i believe Master Mox would be very proud of it. He's from Nord Wing Chun Kung Fu and he has a series of videos about "soft" structure. you should watch them.
Im almost 100% sure that in Shaolin practice they actually move into the force of objects or incoming strikes rebounding the energy off as oppose to just accepting the strike with relaxation and emotionally dealing with the pain. A lot of warrior monks have very strong physiques as well and regularly beat their bodies combined with regular Golden Bell Qigong.
Going for the commotio cordis here. Hitting dead center of someone's chest is basically playing Russian roulette that you're going to disrupt their heart's electrical rhythm.
Earth, Wind, Fire & Water. "Soft" reminds me of Wind for Offense & Water for Defense. Wind & Water both can uses for Offense & Defense given your circumstances.
" Verily, deep and far reaching is this mystery of energy. It is the opposite of all that is visible but it leads to Universal concord. When knowledge compels me to practice the supreme Tao, ( this indeed is the mystery of energy ) the danger lies in putting it into action ". Quote from the ' Tao Te Ching '

Is that similar ask to why drunk drivers typically aren't harmed in crashes but, their conscious and and sober friends are?
Just an assessment.
donnell outlaw alcohol turns off pain receptors so people who are drunk don't really feel as much

In this assessment, the conscious man is now 'going with the flow' of the attacker's punch. How does the conscious person reflect it in terms of having/ activating a 'soft body'? Is it ignoring the natural reaction of the body and taking/ riding/ going with the flow of the punch?
So, is soft body similar to being relaxed and drunk?
Love the soft and open hand styles such grace
So TRUE! Awesome!
Ip man movies r the best.
Damn, I just finished watching an IP Man movie and I read your comment...
RIGHT ON !!!
hes dead, tell me more
Good technique but it needs some clarification.
So say I am about to take a hit, and quickly turn to a relaxed state, as if I am ready to take it, will it actually reduce the amount of force produced by the punch/kick?
veeery nice and very effective technique! thanks for sharing!
Yin beats Yang. Thanks Sifu, great video. I thought the art of not using fists was long gone. I trained Ging Mo Kune ,now I begin my Wing Chun journey.
im 57 years old ,, i like the look of softness,, i have done wing chun many years ago, under samual kwok, here in uk .. but iv got old and slightly disabled to my left arm .. thank you ..
straight forward. realistic demonstration, instant feedback from both persons, and a controversial subject.
Any muscle tension you have stops the flow of energy and in some cases if you are really tense when throwing a punch / technique you can injure / pull muscles and tendons i've done this myself when i first started out.
yeah, building muscles is easy. but generating power with relaxation is a different skill completely.
Okay, I wasn't expecting 100% shots. You for real! Subscribe
how to use softness to defeat hardness .... that's what she said
now i understand finally the principle of softness against stiffness..the principle used by pussies to withstand and absorb the hard pounding of a super stiff boner! thank you master..!

@ al pyrites when u surprice ur self with a hilarous joke that u have to copy paste in all comments XDDDD
+Jonathon vazquez When you reeeally think about it, that joke makes absolutely no sense.
Love the comments
Jonathon vazquez 😂😂😂
Not good to walk around dumb founded
nosson77
I agree with you redirecting punches and training to get hit is way more effective than using chi
Thanks (I subbed too)
Thank you very much Sifu. Student from Sydney, Australia.
so awesome
* 1 minute later *
" collapses with his rib bones coming out of his chest "
I'm so impressed right now! Wing Chun is great!
And thank you for the helpfull Video.
Bet softness wont work if that punch was coming straight for your face.
3:35 his softness doesn't work in his arms, "ughh! its hurting" 😂😂
Your friend is redirecting the energy externally, here I'm redirecting the energy internally.

Thats amazing! Nice to see it.
Genius! Wing Chun kid you are the master.
that guy reminds me of Elton John
Lmao yeah
Elton John’s not Asian.
Visually effective . BRAVA! Just makes sense . Thank you
Personality, wark, വളരെ നല്ലതാണ്, Sir: -
I understand the analogy and what he's trying to use to explain a "firm stand and relax control". the transfer of energy, however it's more so by understanding the art nature in the Rhythm of Life. this is hard and a bit more complex to teach , it's easier acquired through understanding and it will take some people longer than others
This is well known and there are additional ways to direct the force of an attack back to the attacker. With a bit of practice but it takes a lot of constant practice to bring if from the Realm of Performance to that of Application. A lot of Martial Enthusiasts don't really know how to make that change,
Furthermore, it isn't good practice to remain in one spot for more than a second or two, and in a real fight situation, it can get you hurt, particularly when being involved in a Donnybrook . . . no matter how much fun it can be!
You need to make a video about that whip punch
lol everybody all of the sudden knows everything about fighting and PHYSICS.
I agree
ピンクオメガ Tee in my opinion physics are common sense. Force hits one ball, the ball takes all the force, the force hits 5 balls, the general force is divided by five, all soft structure really is, is increasing he amount of points that the force is being distributed across to cause less reaction and expense of energy. I learned that in middle school.
ピンクオメガ Tee nah g it’s just that real life ain’t no anime shit, for example no nigga finna go full goku mode cuz you would get popped
@@christianlong5969 I understand your analogy of pressure but the force on the other guy is due to Newton's third law
Hawt Sauce so we’re in agreement that it’s basics physics, no expertise needed.
im not a master at tai chi but I actually learned this long time ago and its all about the breathing control once hit by a punch
Thank you very much! Good video!
Talk to you later have a great week ahead.
bro science at its finest.
No chance that guy can punch at 900pps.
jat1668 and the average boxer can punch between 1,200 to 1,700 psi mike tyson could punch with 1,800 psi so its possible
mr comment problem is he is not the average boxer the dude hit was soo slow.
I no but he is strong so he props can reach 900
Speed is Strength when it comes to punching.
Sousuke Aizen speed is strength only after technique
....thank you, sifu david & demonstrator!
Great video bro, learnt a lot .
stop lying
Lying??
fire tiger, wrong person lmao.
Who gon kill who ??? Bruh I did time 4 my sins...15 yrs....sooo who gon kill who??? I wish 4 a challenge then...bring that pressure over here hommie??? Wanna location??? 😃😃😃
nice bro i am exited with your class
good demo, thnx. same analogy is a drunk or sleeper involve in car accident. they tend to have less injury coz they soft mode.
With all honesty...
You're the best one who explains it all
Thanks a lot
This tip is soooo useful for me and girls in general
Good luck on your channel buddy
this is all too simple to understand, thank you for this.
I love your videos. you should show how to practice softness to absorbs attacks.
kelvin le you relax.
This dude is cool shit. Wish I could train with him. Did martial arts growing up. Stopped. My life went to shit. (Not because I stopped) getting involved in martial arts would be a huge benefit. Hanging out with someone like this would be good for the soul.
Thanks for this video and i like this very good
It's quite simple really.
(Softly)
the moves are great.. definitive, feels like letting the energy flow.. like water
Amituofo
Interesting video. What is the science behind the soft techniques you demonstrated?
Physics
Yes, what physics
He spreads the force out over a longer time, by moving with the punch, so the force per second is lower, so it's easier to handle
damx x fast car hit slow car... Get the picture? Thank me later
Oh ok FB = - FA Plus the ability to control one's
adrenaline
Thank's for the information
I really enjoyed your video.Do you think you could rise the level a bit and use that softness skill with direct punch in the face? That would be great!
What we learned is the difference between hard medium and soft style and what that means that's what we learn from this lesson the difference between hard and soft
I like the bit when you started to hurt him back lol
Great video
that's some demo, impressive.
Thanks!
Hey Mr Wong, Are you Master Wong's( another youtube Wing Chun sifu) cousin by any chance?🤔
Love wing chun looks awesome I wanna learn. So many martial arts I wanna learn first take up one.
Hello David I like this and I think your softness have a peace that y you can do if it's right tell
And I have to say one thing the peace is more powerful than any thing
Thank you
I think the reason Larry hurts himself when he hits you isn't because you are returning his force to him - that's just not physically possible. That's like saying hitting a pillow hurts more than hitting a wall.
I'm think it's more likely because simply relaxing already prompts Chi to flow around your body, and it's really your Chi that hurts him whenever he hits you.
Hector Amador Not in my experience.
Nice demo. I got a question: how do you manage your breath?
nice.. i want to learn more
excelente 👌 eso si que es una demostración lo único que falta es subtitulo en español.
all these martial arts is great to stay and shape and as a hobby, and if by some chance who had to use it when your outside your home etc.. it's great to know you can defend yourself with confidence, no matter which martial art your using.
Nice vid!
less talk and more more MMA please, i would love to see this type of fight in an octagon
"So do I -- REAL WING CHUN. I don't know if what I'm watching is for real"
lilPopper
i also felt that it was too theatrical ... that's why i said, less talk and give me a fight at the octagon xD
you most likely will not see wing chun in the octagon as it is not meant to be governed under rules restrictions, it goes against its very nature. you may see wing chung aspects and influences but not the whole art.
the closest thing in mma to wing chun is done by Alan orr. check out his channel in UA-cam.
Hello man. Don't turn martial art back to the age of the beast. The current age, martial art are for self defence.
Good video. Looks like you blew the mind of your demo partner haha
wing Chun will always be one of the best
This video is very interesting
It’s amazing !
that is very cool I would like more information
Normally I agree with most of your techniques but these are not good defenses or plans for protecting yourself by absorbing punishment. Those impacts are putting you at alot more risk that him. It would be much better to ride with his impact an flow back so your not absorbing much and then as he's resetting give him heavy impacts to prevent him from delivering another! 🙏🏼
this is a very good video, i believe Master Mox would be very proud of it. He's from Nord Wing Chun Kung Fu and he has a series of videos about "soft" structure. you should watch them.
I watch him too haha
brilliant bro
Im almost 100% sure that in Shaolin practice they actually move into the force of objects or incoming strikes rebounding the energy off as oppose to just accepting the strike with relaxation and emotionally dealing with the pain. A lot of warrior monks have very strong physiques as well and regularly beat their bodies combined with regular Golden Bell Qigong.
Going for the commotio cordis here. Hitting dead center of someone's chest is basically playing Russian roulette that you're going to disrupt their heart's electrical rhythm.
thanks Dude
next time before somebody hits me I stop him, lose my body and then ask him to hit me... great videos I'll be waiting for a fight
Earth, Wind, Fire & Water. "Soft" reminds me of Wind for Offense & Water for Defense. Wind & Water both can uses for Offense & Defense given your circumstances.
Yes that is the Wing Chun stance the feet are pointing at at one another in a wide stance with knees bent similar to riding a horse
This reminds me of captain Gyinu vs goku should explain that ...
xD The old episodes were so cool dude.
that's good to self depends... I like that...
How do you do that...!??
