I watched this video for guidance on the kangaroo pocket... I'm making up a vintage 80s hoodie pattern using a high elastane content cotton mix for a lounge top. I really like your videos and the way you share your knowledge. Thank you!!
Hi! Good question! The seam allowance is always included in my patterns - 1 cm, sometimes 2.5 cm for the hem allowance but and then it's indicated on the pattern.
I would like to make the hoodie lighter for summer wear, what fabric can I use to make the hoodie more summer friendly? (I live in 80-90 degree Fahrenheit weather)
Hi! Sure, here's what you can do : 1) pick your size, nothing fancy here, 2) when cutting your paper pattern, just for the neckhole and the hood, choose a bigger size (the measurements of the neckhole and hood correspond) 3) for the pocket, you can take one from a bigger size, or trace it bigger yourself.
Hi! I don't, the needle slides against the pins. But I do hit the pins sometimes and then the needle breaks. It happens maybe once a month (I might sew 30 hours a month though). It's not apropriate for all fabrics
@@isainstitches aye aye, I bet your French is premium, like posh French speaker. But great video, seeing you sew makes it looks easy if I didn't know better I would have said its easy but we all know it's not😅💯💯
I just made this hoodie in 2 sizes larger than my usual size, its exactly what i wanted and its so comfy! Thank you Isa for the video tutorial

Great tutorial, thank you. I’m going to try to make something like this in wool fabric recycled from old wool shirts. Wish me luck!
This is a wonderful idea, makes me want to try!
@@isainstitches I’ll let you know how it turns out :)

Glad I could help!! This sounds like a fun and comfy project! Are you happy with the result? Did you find a vintage pattern for it?
Wow, this video is jam packed with useful information
Glad you found it useful!
Really great tutorial 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great tutorial and the hoodie looks incredible but i personally like the stripped sleeves and waiste
I think I do too now
Hey, your hoodie fits you verry well. What size are you wearing usually and which size are you sewing in the video?
Yes, good question! I'm an XS for bust and waist these days, but I have larger shoulders than a regular XS so I took an S (EU 36)
Hi Isa! Great video - thank you!
I thought of sewing the hoodie without the sleeves. Any ideas on how to have a nice seam?
Hi! Sure! Invisible bias binding (French method) will be the best method I believe!
i love it.. its more easier to follow.. btw. can you sew using only serger and a single needle machine?
Totally! The twin needle is only a cosmetic trick, a simple needle suffices
I just download your pattern. I can’t wait to make this tomorrow.❤❤ I have fleece fabric. Will you think that will go good with this hoodie?😊
Yes fleece fabric will be good! It always depends of the fleece of course, the heavier the better!
Thank you , this is wonderful. How much fabric do I need ? Please
Hi, have a look at the product listing on Etsy, among the pics. I give you the yardage per size in two fabric widths
Nice hoodie
Thanks!
hey, I wanted to ask if I still need to add some extra centimeters on the fabric, when I want to cut it or is it already included in the pattern?
Hi! Good question! The seam allowance is always included in my patterns - 1 cm, sometimes 2.5 cm for the hem allowance but and then it's indicated on the pattern.

Hi! Take a light sweatshirt fabric (be aware that the final look will be a bit slouchy with a thinner fabric)
Could I use this pattern for the body and combine it with your Comfort Hood Balaclava Hat pattern?
Absolutely!
Hey how much ribbing would I need for this ?
All fabric yardage is indicated among the pics on Etsy & my website
hi ! i want to make it a big boxer and make the pocket/hood bigger, how should i do that ??
