  • November the 5th was another day for the books! Huge waves arrived to Praia do Norte in Nazare, Portugal. It was a special day, but not only because of it waves! Today was the first HUGE day of the season and many of the surfers were out for a mission in diferent places around the globe to receive this XXL Swell.
    So the lineup wasn't as crowded as usual, were it was really crowded today was at the cliff, were more than 5.000 people were standing under the intermittent rain watching the few surfers trying to get some bombs in stormy conditions.
    Waves were over 60ft coming from every direction, the inside was as hard as it gets to navegate and the cliff was like being in a Rolling Stones concert!
    As always, I let you here a Raw edit, with no music so you can enjoy a real ambient experience!

    as a passionate surfer myself i wonder how anybody can find pleasure in being in stormy and extremely dangerous water conditions and on top of that surfing those kind of waves, huge respect though for bravery and commitment

      Huge respect for all the gasoline and fossil fuels they burn in order to catch a monstrous but sloppy wave.

    • @cripchip_007
      @cripchip_007 11 місяців тому +1

      @@Riceman-o1pThere isn’t much gasoline or fossil fuels used in surfing these waves, and jet skis don’t consume much fuel either. If you’re referring to the airplane flights taken by surfers to reach their destinations, it’s important to consider that those flights would still be operational even if surfers didn’t take them. Therefore, I don’t quite understand your point?
      If we take away all the “fun” from life, more people will end up on pharmaceutical antidepressants, which is detrimental to both the future of the planet and society.
      From what I know, surfers generally have a deep respect for the planet and the environment. They actively strive to take care of their playground...
      FYI - cars use approximately 603 million litres of gasoline per day and 1.4 billion litres of diesel per day - jet skis chump change!

    The giant waves of Nazare normally happen between October and March, however for them to happen, some factors will be necessary such as a storm in the Full Ocean, wind factor and then the Nazare Canyon (underwater canyon with approximately 237km and its maximum depth goes up to 5km). There are wave forecast websites, with forecasts of up to 10/12 days. For those who live in Portugal and/or Europe, it is easier to plan.

      @barenafilmsport  11 місяців тому

      Hola Eduardo como estas? Desde ahora hasta marzo es la mejor epoca, solo que las olas llegan luego de una tormenta grande en el oceano, no todos los dias esta de este tamaño! Debes ir mirando el pronostico! O siguiendonos iremos avisando cuando venga un swell!

    • @joaosaraiva9425
      @joaosaraiva9425 11 місяців тому +1

      Las olas gigantes de Nazare normalmente ocurren entre octubre y marzo, sin embargo para que sucedan serán necesarios algunos factores como una tormenta en el Océano Lleno, factor viento y luego el Cañón de Nazare (cañón submarino con aproximadamente 237km y su profundidad máxima va hasta 5 kilómetros). Existen webs de previsión de olas, con previsiones de hasta 10/12 días. Para quienes viven en Portugal y/o Europa, es más fácil planificar.

    Bem, há que começar o Campeonato Internacional da Nazaré. Mas aberto a todos (com vida para nao morrerem nem fazerem figuras tristes) e tipo campeonato anual, nao é o melhor do fim de semana dentro dos amigos do Mcnamara. Ele fez um bom trabalho, mas a Nazaré é nossa, nao é nem nunca será de estrangeiros. O ultimo que o tentou chamava-se Napoleao e foi a levar porrada desde aqui até Waterloo... PS Coloquem o nome dos surfistas no canto da imagem, ainda no outro dia vi uma surfista inglesa com um futuro brilhante na Nazaré, mas é preciso colocar o nome das pessoas. Bom trabalho. Força.
