@@Eddie-l8l As stated - ex Dan Eaves Halfords BTCC (2005) DC5 Honda Integra Type R. Brake failure on the Melbourne Loop, hit the tire wall sideways. Car didn't appear to be totally done for, but a big hit nonetheless. FWIW I think the Accord actually had more damage from what I could see in the paddock, you could barely tell the Prim had had any contact.
We were there on the saturday specifically for the Super Tourers but they never went out and we never saw or heard any official reason. Was it cancelled because of that crash? Looks like we should have done the Friday instead 😅
I believe damage from Friday was the reason. One car did attempt to start on Saturday but packed up in the pit lane. That was what I gathered from the live stream. The Super Touring cars were meant to compete as the race had a rolling start specifically for them.
Aaah right, I kept checking the website to see if anything had been said but never saw an actual reason thanks for the clarification, hopefully they'll get them sorted and we'll get to see them back at Donington next year 🤞
@@texasred7806 yeah 8 cars entered, 2 weren't ready in time, 1 broke in testing, one broke on the warm up lap, then you had the three race incidents so that left just the one, never seen something quite like that tbh but Super Touring at Brands should be great
That super tourer crash 😩, was even worse when the Integra crashed. All run by the same team aswell!
What integra ..
@@Eddie-l8l the orange Halfords branded car. Went off on the last lap on the Melbourne loop, brake failure.

Impressed by 3:50. If that was on What Happened Next, no one would have got it.
Thats a surprisingly common way to hit the tyres on the in-field. I was even more impressed with the avoidance at 5:05.
I was here on the Friday, every car I came for had an issue, the Bentley didn’t even make it, the super tourers crashed, jimmy broadbent broke down
750 Motor Club also had problems on Monday.... weather didn't help
Did you do Brands as well mate? I know it would’ve been a bloody fast turnaround but there was a ridiculous amount of action at Paddock!
Yeah, safe to say I was quite tired by the end...
@@CarsAreRacing I bet you were! Worth it though eh?
