The woman who plays Beulah's friend is Dorothy Dandridge's mother, Ruby Dandridge.

Roles haven't really changed much for Black women in Hollywood.

Oscar winner Hattie McDaniels said; "I'd rather play a maid than be one" Will you dishonor her good work?

There is a episode called Beulah and the jalopy, it's episode S3.E16 from 1952. I've been looking for that film for many years. My father owned and drove the race car that was used in the film. I still have the contract from the studio. Does anybody know where I could find that episode?

This old sitcom is pretty creaky, but Beulah has a good heart and is no fool.

I had never seen an episode with Louise Beavers. I've seen the 'Hattie McDaniel episodes', and one Ethel Waters one(which I liked best)!

the same 4 episodes are the only ones I've seen circulating. I will try to find more/better quality in the future. Other channels have this in higher resolution, but the sound isn't as good.
