People think that the world is black and white, good and evil. I wouldn't say so, I'd say it's amazing writing and character development, every incident, accident, and fault has affected Eren and forged him towards his current choice, people grow in different directions depending on their situation, it's what makes us human. If anything this AMV helps highlight his path and what drives his choices. Almost everyone in this anime is a victim of their circumstances, a soldier if anything else. If Eren is evil, does it mean that Reiner is good? Fuck no, Evil is an opinion, To one person Eren is a savour, to another he is a devil. The only reason people hate him now is because hes not like the other shonen protagonist. The ones that would rather the minority die than the majority. Eren is really a relatable character and that is why I like him. All he wanted was to spread his wings and sea the vast world for what it is. And seeing that their were people on the other side throwing all their hatred on to them really disappointed him. He even went to their country and stayed there for a time and while doing that he understand what annie and the others were feeling. If I'd being honest I think most people would of done what eren did if they were in the same situation. Only people that might now of done it are does that are obsess with justice.

This was such a heart touching edit . I could feel eren's pain from the edit. People hated him for causing genocide but they never did understood his intentions. It was meant to make his people look like heroes who saved the world. He was willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of his people and make himself hated when nobody could understand what he was really going through. Talk about a dark anime.

Eren has easily become one of my favorite characters of all time. We see what losing constantly and pure determination will do to a man. Eventually if you never give up you’ll win once.

very nice summary, 1) He's a monster because he refuses to submit, 2) he is an enemy (to everyone) because he is 'free' by not allowing anyone to hold him down. He's grown because 1) he learned about action and inaction, 2) learning the consequences of each, 3) accepting said consequences, 4) deciding what he wants (after a lot of trouble and self questioning, hence why I think the writing is good, as there lots of perspective and consideration throughout the story), thus the 2 points of the summary, he is uncompromising in an imperfect world. A well made series, long but very entertaining to witness as an audience member, glad such a work was created in my lifetime.

Zeke turned out the way he is because of his upbringing when Grisha was a bad father, yet when given a chance with Eren, Grisha was a great father, but unfortunately Eren's environment was far more impactful on who he became.
I truly love Erens character development because it shows that he’s still the same and that he did the things he did whether they were really cruel or not for the people he cared about. He knew what he did was wrong, but he did it to protect the people he loved even if it means sacrificing himself and his sanity. Brilliant ... just spine-chillingly brilliant. THIS is how Isayama wanted us to see Eren and the real story of Attack on Titan. It was there all along for those who chose to really see their world through this character's eyes, and heart - though flawed by personal torments he may (understandably IMO) be. Masterpiece.
I've never sat through an AMV that lasted 25 minutes but yet I've watched and sat through all of this video. And to be completely clear, I have not been caught up since s2 or s3-ish. I cannot grasp how beautiful this was. The way you captured his beginning and to his ending. His hopes and dreams, his faults and selfishness, his misery and desolation got me at loss of words. I've heard that people didn't like the Eren now and how the decisions he has made doesn't suit him. I mean, after all he has been through, can you actually blame him? From the beginning, he was a child who was believed to blame himself. Now, he has grown to stop believing himself and blame the world. From hopeful, to despair, and to numbness..... I think that is character development at its core. Character development isn't mean to be good saga development. Character development is meant to be derived from a character's depth of actions, beliefs, and values. At the end of everything, he's a character that has changed. And I truly find loss of innocence a fitting expression for Eren's fate. 🥲

Eren isn’t actually evil he just wants to end all titans even that’s what his dad told him “if you become enemy of the world hated by everybody” he wanted Mika’s a and armin to live a happy long lives that’s why he was so mean to them because he knows that one day he has to get killed. So he doesn’t want them to feel bad after he dies basically making them hate him just to give everyone a happy life without titans and living with fear. He was the real protagonist the whole time in the story. To achieve his goal had to make everyone hate him and become an enemy.

As another commenter said, a loss of his innocence for the cost of his freedom. The quote where they say, "the conditions and the people around them leave them with no choice" and I think that's what happened to eren, the moment he had that dream, to either believe in myself or others, and having all that shit happen to you and your friends, I think those conditions fuck up a person and what he does is the result of him being left with no choice.

Eren Jaeger is literally the Anakin Skywalker of Anime. He starts out doing good, but in order to do what he thinks will save the ones he cares about, he does more harm than good and either kills them or hurts them. Eren is now more villain than hero, he's been seduced to the Dark Side. Though he may have a plan, he will ultimately lose in the end.

I cannot grasp how beautiful this was. The way you captured his beginning and to his ending. His hopes and dreams, his faults and selfishness, his misery and desolation got me at loss of words. I've heard that people didn't like the Eren now and how the decisions he has made doesn't suit him. I mean, after all he has been through, can you actually blame him?
From the beginning, he was a child who was believed to blame himself. Now, he has grown to stop believing himself and blame the world. From hopeful, to despair, and to numbness..... I think that is character development at its core. Character development isn't mean to be good saga development. Character development is meant to be derived from a character's depth of actions, beliefs, and values. At the end of everything, he's a character that has changed. And I truly find loss of innocence a fitting expression for Eren's fate. 🥲

Eren isn’t actually evil he just wants to end all titans even that’s what his dad told him “if you become enemy of the world hated by everybody” he wanted Mika’s a and armin to live a happy long lives that’s why he was so mean to them because he knows that one day he has to get killed. So he doesn’t want them to feel bad after he dies basically making them hate him just to give everyone a happy life without titans and living with fear. He was the real protagonist the whole time in the story. To achieve his goal had to make everyone hate him and become an enemy.

As another commenter said, a loss of his innocence for the cost of his freedom. The quote where they say, "the conditions and the people around them leave them with no choice" and I think that's what happened to eren, the moment he had that dream, to either believe in myself or others, and having all that shit happen to you and your friends, I think those conditions fuck up a person and what he does is the result of him being left with no choice.

He starts out doing good, but in order to do what he thinks will save the ones he cares about, he does more harm than good and either kills them or hurts them. Eren is now more villain than hero, he's been seduced to the Dark Side. Though he may have a plan, he will ultimately lose in the end.

No one would really ever understand Eren unless they've been in many similar circumstances... and much less people are actually willing to even come close to what he has done... many would think it wouldn't be hard for them to make themselves enemies of the world and their friends...well if you know what it's like to have those you care about like Eren does... those people wouldn't understand it either way. It's something that can't easily be explained with words alone. It's something just unfathomable at thought for anyone who is blind to our reality as well.
