I really appreciate this video. New retiree and his dog Koda, with a 2024 T@b 320S. I found myself at a KOA when the temp dipped to 32 degrees. I panicked. I had no RV antifreeze, and no winterizing kit. Normally I research solutions, but this time I was blindsided. I called the KOA owner and she was happy to guide me through a quick and dirty pseudo winterization. I drained the Fresh and Grey water tanks, and I drained the Alde water tank…and left it all open. I dumped the toilet cassette (known as the Black tank), and I used the KOA’s restrooms that night. The next day I confirmed temps only went down to 30 degrees and only for a couple hours. I inspected all the piping and it all looked fine, confirmed the Alde worked with electricity (thanks to the shore 30A line). This video is a great reminder about controlling humidity, and keeping the bathroom warm. To keep your toes (etc!) from freezing. :) Please keep these videos coming…while I check out all the videos you created in the past. You are awesome!
I love the Fall, Winter, Spring months. My winter camping is mainly the California coast. The wind and rain, hunker down in a nice warm trailer, enjoying a nice bowl of chill, soup or beans. Forget the beans.
@@JennGroverPhotography oh yeah I've already forgotten about the holidays they were just another mundane day for me. Had to work so it didn't make any difference
I would like to try my hand at winter camping next season. I'm doing my best to learn what I can about my rig. It's been very time consuming, but necessary, imo. You & others have been a huge help. Thank you!
holidays!. Keeping the pipes warm inside isn't as hard as the outside pipes and the actual tanks. I do know of people who have gone the route if installing tank and pipe heaters, though.
Hi Jenn. Thanks for the tips! I'm getting my T@B next week and it will come winterized, and I've been thinking of finding somewhere to camp while still winterized. This episode was so perfect in the timing! When a trailer is dewinterized, does the freshwater tank have to be flushed? My big concern is trying to collect the antifreeze and not let it get into the environment. It is harmful even though it says non-toxic. I'm completely new to rv camping and have had a long wait for my first trailer...it has caused me to become nervous thinking about everything I need to know. Love your channel!
It depends on how it is winterized. Probaboy the easiest way to determine is to open the fresh water tank drain and see if any of the pink antifreeze comes out. If it does, you will need to flush it.
How well insulated is the tab 320?…..does it stay warm and toasty even on deep cold winter days? What’s the RF? Also, do you use Antifreeze with the Cassette toilet?
I stay very warm, have camped down to 14 degrees. I would use antifreeze with the cassette, but I haven't needed it, yet. You would want to check with nuCamp for the RF rating.
@@JennGroverPhotography From Shamokin PA, parents till there but never moving back :). Lots of great state campgrounds north of Tampa. I'm trying to decide on a Lil Guy or Nucamp.
OK, Jenn Grover, you've got me dreaming about it!
Dreaming is the first step!

Have you tried to insulate your water pipes with foam tubing or used heat tape?

Susan, no worries. RV antifreeze is non-toxic.
