I love how at first it sounds like you're hearing the music through someone else's headphones, and then it gets a little quieter, and then it finally comes to full volume.
I always thought of one of those old radios with the the static fading in with the song and all. Like, if it were a movie, the frame would zoom out from the beatbox that belonged to the owner of a beachfront bar, and it would focus on Frank's character having a time of peace and enjoyment, for he had found his place of happiness after all of his hardships. It could not mean any of that, but this album always brings amazing imagery through vivid melodies and vibes, as well as impressive storytelling. I hope his next album proves as impressive.

The entire album "Channel Orange" is off a radio, the listener is changing the channel between songs, which is why you have short breaks such as "Fertilizer" between songs. Also how "Nostalgia, Ultra" was sort of an arcade game.

First time I heard this I was listening to the album in bed with headphones on and when Forrest Gump ended I started to fall asleep, I could still hear what was playing through End, and I heard golden girl start to fade in and play, and I thought I was dreaming or something, I had no idea this track existed and it was one of the most magical and confusing moments of my life

I used to listen to this song in the summer of 2017. I had a group of friends at the time that made me smile more than I would’ve ever imagined possible. We hung out each day from morning to evening. I felt euphoric, I felt hope, I felt everything. Our group, since last year, began to rock and split into severed pieces, all of us floating to different places of the city. While I am still close friends with some, the sense of family that we once had fled two summers ago.
I completely understand what you mean. 2017 and 2018 were great years and then after that things started to slowly go down hill for my group of friends and then things started looking up around 2020 to 2021. And then around august, drugs false aligations of theft and manipulation got in the way and now there's only 4 of our original 10 person group that are still close.😔

I'd been listening to Channel Orange religiously for YEARS (my friend burned me a CD when it came out). Single, in college, on rides to and from home, smoking on backroads - it was the soundtrack to formative years of my life. Fast-forward to a little over a year ago, my now-fiancé and I find it on vinyl and discover Golden Girl together. I was in shock! All those years going word-for-word along with Frank and never even knew this song was part of the project. So grateful to have it on a bright orange record for our kids to experience someday.

me and this guy were talking for like a month. i had strong strongggg feelings for this kid didn’t even know if he rlly did feel that way back, i always thought in the back of my mind that it wasn’t gonna work out bc i thought he was just playing me but every moment with him felt so real. he felt like he was the one for me and i’ve finally found what i’ve been searching for. we sang vcr wheels by tyler together he was just exactly what i needed. but anyways on one of my last encounters with him, he played this song we were just smoking together at some park in his city at like 4 am and he plays this and surprisingly i didn’t know it bc im a HUGE odd future fan but i never rlly got into frank like that , tyler on the other hand ik his whole discography and this kid was a huge frank ocean fan he told me he listens to him at least 10 times a day, but when he played this i didn’t even know the song and he was just singing it and i was like this is a beautiful ass song and i was rlly tuning into the lyrics and actually listening to what he was saying and it made me it made me feel so happy bc this song lined up with our “situationship”. but when tyler’s part came on, it hit me so different bc basically my living situation is very complicated and everytime i would go and see this kid i would get in trouble at home and it wasn’t just regular trouble it was like court involved everytime i left my house in the middle of the night it caused major problems for my case but i did it anyways bc i rlly liked this kid. so when i was listening to tyler’s part and he said “i want u to know that my negatives at home aren’t working for my kodak so that means that i don’t want to go back just know that i would like to stay here and hold that hand of yours “ hit me so hard when he was singing that bc this kid didn’t even know abt my home problems and like i would try to spend as much time with him as he could and made him stay with me as long as he could bc i didn’t want to go back and deal with my home problems. we also held hands A LOT that was like our thing it lined up perfectly with that one tyler line. but anyways. long rant but. we don’t talk anymore he said he enjoyed every moment he spent with me and so did i but i really wish we could’ve been something. he was genuinely my “golden boy”corny i know but. i rlly liked him and i’ll never speak to him again but i rlly love this song and he showed me it. funny thing is after that that night he played it i didn’t rlly search the song up or add it to my playlist until one day i was just listening to tyler and i saw a title that said golden/bimmer and i took a listen bc i love the song bimmer and this song started playing and it just brought me all the way back to that night now i’m obsessed with this song because it reminds me so much of him. he’s gone now but i enjoyed the time i had with him and i wish we could’ve been something more. my heart longs for him and i’d do anything to go back and just have him stay with me forever:/
