She’s absolutely right. I was beaten as a child and into my Teens by my Stepmom.. As I got older she then became verbally abuses.. I’m still struggling with this mentality..
Cathy, we got this The act of forgiveness is OUR gift, not theirs. It's time we cast off their abuse. Imagine your only parent is an extremely effective & powerful abuser (Mental Physical Emotional the trifecta)she is a PhD in clinical psychology, and she performed hypnosis on us as young children to hide the abuse. I joined the Military to get a chance to trauma and spice it up a bit. When you can't trust the process because the process was used to perpetrate the abuse preventing you from healing and exposing them.
Dan, I am wondering why you post so many clips from the same old videos. It might be refreshing to see new interviews or recovery stories you've recorded.
She said the amygdala never goes back to normal...but i wonder how long they studied people, and did they study people who experienced 'post-traumatic growth'? most modern research focuses on pathology, and not on the process of recovery....
iv also learned, back in 2018, that mindfulness meditation (where you focus on say breathing, and just label/categorise/notice the thoughts which pop-up) reverses the brain changes of PTSD (enlarged amygdala, shrunk pre-frontal cortex, white:grey matter ratios etc all the same as with MECFS and CPTSD) I asked chatGPT and it said 1-2years to reverse these changes with daily consistency, according to the PTSD studies. Admittedly, i have no idea whether there's a difference in degree of these changes between the 3, nor if duration and severity make a difference. I also dont know the duration of meditation. But, 20mins is the peak time, diminishing returns thereafter, so it would be ideal to do 3x 20mins each day (for fastest results)
