And now those people are starving because the people there have no interest in farming and those that do, make horrible decisions that baffle the basic mind. And now they’re begging, literally begging for white farmers to come back and run the farms. Thankfully the white farmers told them to go kick rocks. This reminded of an auction I went to where no one bid against a mother and daughter who were trying to get furniture for their new house after they lost everything in a fire. It was the most emotional and caring time I have ever experienced at an auction. Because the house and belongings were being sold to pay towards medical needs of the previous owner, people even bid up stuff, bought it and then gave it to the mother and daughter. That way the bidders were helping out the original owner and the new ones. It was so cool to watch this testimony of a community coming together.
Prior to his passing my dad, who was a friend of Willie Nelson’s told me that when Mr Nelson had issues with the IRS (in the 1980’s I think) and had to sell his farm, the local population got together and bought the property at auction, then gifted it back to Willie Nelson. Apparently he had for years been a kind and helpful neighbour, spreading his good fortune to the community, when they heard of his problems they clubbed together and showed their appreciation for all he had done for them in the past. Moral of the tale is: there are far more good people in the world than bad, but the bad ones tend to crave the publicity.
That's nice to hear that there are still people not grabbing money and doing the right thing! It surprises me, as most farmers I know are big time money grubbers, if this happened now in my areas several would be rubbing their hands together, thinking I got one over old ...... and claiming I only bought it so it remains locally owned! Just can't see this happening in UK, certainly not in my area!
These were not 200 farmers ... They were 200 MEN who gave true meaning to the word. What an absolutely marvelous community to do this without thought of reward but to do it because it was right.
Lmfao there were literally women at the auction. They were farmers. Stop romanticizing the word “man” as if behavior like this isn’t right for anyone to do.

Old school farmers are badass generous decent people. I worked for one, Stan, when I was a teenager. BEST boss I've ever worked for. You worked like a trojan 12, 14 16 hours...but HE treated you like royalty. Top rate of pay (cash in hand), roast beef dinner in the house, beer tea home baked food brought out to the field every few hours by his kind wife. They were happy happy days. I wish we could live with those values again, this identikit modern digital corporate world is crap
GOLDSMITHEXILE 2016, your comment sounds extremely familiar. Worked the farms as a teenager and it was great. The meals were almost worth the work. All you had to do was a good days work and you knew you had a job next time around. Lord how i miss those days. Hard work but simple and honest. As Roy Clark sang, yesterday when i was young. God bless.
I remember those days. I was my dad's right hand helper We farmed and dad also customer farmed. When other farmers needed help dad and I went over and helped them. Being a girl the wives thought I should be in the house not in the fields. They always asked me to come back when they needed help It was good pay, good food and good conversations. They were good people and good times.
I've known lots of farmers over the decades - even worked for some at times - and many of them are/were great people But like everywhere else, some are just the scum of the earth.

this was common practice back during the depression era. Farmers could often buy back their repossessed land for pocket change. because no one else would say a word at the auction.
Yeah I heard this story. The auctioneers where starting to figure it out so one farmer will say 50 cents. Then another would say 55 cents. Then another would say 60. So the orginal farmer would get his farm back for like a dollar.
Praise the Lord! United, we stand, divided we fall. Stand fast in the Lord! Love thy neighbor as you love yourself. God bless the farmers of the world. Amen
It's great to see the rural communities pull together... Here in Australia, at the peak of a very long drought, farmers who were in areas of the country that were not as badly affected by the drought as some, opened their hearts and farm gates to allow many thousands of tons of hay to be taken free of charge and delivered to the farmers that needed it the most for their livestock... most often from many hundreds or even thousands of kms away and no other connection between the parties except that they were fellow farmers. Some of the biggest names in our music industry held free concerts and all the proceeds were donated to struggling farmers. Farmers and rural families are the heart and soul of the country.... They put their hearts and souls into their farms...They deserve our recognition and respect.
This happened to me about 40 yr ago at a auction for my grandmother. A antique buffet that had been appraised for 2000 was up I had no intention of buy it .The bidding started at 650 so I bid first .The auctioneer said we have a 650 bid from a grandson there wasnt another bid after that. And yes I still have it.
@SwissArmy1984 If you can't be happy for someone else and their good fortune then maybe you should take a look at yourself and ask what is wrong in your life to make you so angered by this. I'm a fifth generation Nebraska farmer that understands what this video is about. I don't know if this video is true but it gives me hope for my sons to have the same opportunity God has given us. I know our neighbors would do this for anyone in our community. God Bless you
I’ve been to a few of these farm auctions years ago when they had a big crisis and farmers were loosing everything. His neighbors which my families farm was close to them my dad and other farmers bought all their equipment and land and then sold it back to them for let’s say cheap 10 cents for a $80,000 dollar tractor, 2 cents an acre.
I was a middle aged widow in Lowes Hardware in a small city of about 270,000 people. The sewage pipe under my house in the dug out basement was clogged. With no money for a plumber I was going to try to root it out myself. My favorite Uncle was a kind farmer. In the aisle there was a man in overalls and a baseball style cap with his wife. He looked like a farmer and I asked if he could help me choose the right equipment for the job. He asked about what I was going to do. He showed me what might work. Then he asked if he and his wife could follow me home so he could do the job for me. They followed me and he did the job. He would not take any kind of payment. Neither of them would give me their address so I could not send them money. They gave a phone number in case I ever needed anything. HE IS A FARMER.....

Shocke89 It’s clear you are not a farmer. Here is a little education. Farmers depend on the weather. Not to Dry, wet, cold, hot, windy and animal & ground disease. Equipment breakdowns and replacement. Tax’s , insurance, labor wages, feed and seed, fuels, kids, living expenses, doctor visits, vet bills. The lists gos on and on but I think your smart enough to understand. Couple of hard years and you will have to barrow a few bucks. Then things can spiral down. It’s hard to be a farmer. Please consider these thoughts and then consider your post. May God Bless you. Romans 10- 9-13

My grandfather was a farmer and rancher in Nebraska near Scottsbluff for many years. When he died the highway route we took was lined with hundreds of people. Many were farmers who knew him. Farmers are a rare breed.
When my cousin and I decided to sell the old family homestead--Dawes Allotment land owned by our Grandad--the man and his family who wanted to purchase it were people we didn't know, but who owned the section across the road from our land. In Oklahoma, the sale of land is separate from the sale of mineral rights. The man was scared to death because the price of the land was high, set by previous negotiation between our Department of Interior-appointed attorney and his attorney. The young man would never been able to pay for the land if he didn't also own the mineral rights. Several parties showed up to bid on the mineral rights. When they saw the young man, his wife, and children looking on and the fear on his face, one man bid $25. The mineral rights could have gone for tens of thousands of dollars. The bid was low enough so the judge could reject it. and the young farmer got the mineral rights for a dollar. Good ole Okies. God bless them.

This video is the only video that brought tears to me. I lost my family farm basically the same way. But the 100 people showed no mercy and I watched the farm I was raised on, got married in the farm house and eventually lived in the farm house with my wife, all disappeared right in front of me. Thank God this young man was saved from the horror I suffered.
That is how the ''unholy ''' have infiltrated our land -- food quality and such.. be aware.. so very sad for your loss but it was well planned for some.. God is STILL IN CONTROL...
Then you go into the congested cities with It's news or politicians or Elitist Entertainers that preach....that they are just like us. And one side doensn't get the Electoral Vote....go figure.
@Whiteman By WHAT right do you have to make such a racial assumption? I do believe EVERY farming community, no matter where they are or who they are, would endeavour to protect a fellow farmer in a difficult time such as this farmer had to undergo. It is this man's livelihood that is being threatened and the rural community balance at risk and so ALL the farmers came together in solidarity to protect one of their own in a time of crisis. As is often said there is no better place for good neighbours than in a rural community, as long as everyone is a good neighbour and willing to help where needed!
As long as you are like them, they will be nice. Sure. As long as you are uneducated like them, sure. As long as you are White, sure. As long as you don't think too critical about life, sure.
Obviously they were having financial hardships when they lost their farm. It's a blessing things played out this way. Not only the awesome solidarity that was displayed but, the absence of the previous debt that was owed. Whatever they paid for the land, was the price paid and that was it. Taxes on agricultural land aren't that much so, they should be able to keep up with it easy now. What a wonderful story.
Taxes on land has steadily increased and one bad harvest year can put some farms in holes they spend the years trying to climb out of. While some have found ways to mitigate this, others still struggle. Tax on property is a faulty way to hold ransom your belongings. The part of the tax codes needs to change.
sounds like a developer talked the ancestor into selling, and farmers as a group hate to see developers get into a area due to simple fact that the people that move in start complaining about the farmers. some states like my home state of Missouri have the right to farm protected by law so people that move here from the cities can not make trouble for the farmers.
This was an inspiration story, Finally a group of humans standing together to do something Monumental for this poor family, I hope everyone in this life has the opportunity to be surrounded by such good people.

@@rodneyscott47 I agree with that.
The story said that an "ancestor" sold off the farm. So it sounds like someone wanted money...
sounds like a developer talked the ancestor into selling, and farmers as a group hate to see developers get into a area due to simple fact that the people that move in start complaining about the farmers. some states like my home state of Missouri have the right to farm protected by law so people that move here from the cities can not make trouble for the farmers.
Actually taxes are getting pretty horrible on country land, too.
This was a protest I could get behind. All of the rioters need to watch the example set by these country people.
