If anyone been watching Jacks from Villarreal days they'd know he is an "inside forward" which is a wide attacking forward who usually plays as part of a front three. From their wide starting position, they look to attack infield with runs off the ball and by dribbling diagonally towards goal. So playing him as a pure striker was never supposed to be the plan, I would hope the scouting team and Poch knew this...
I mean he plays decent amount of time as a winger at his former club and was very effective in that role. Even if you see the way he plays the ball when he is in striker role, he always tries to take on players first instead of shooting it immediately. He is not a pure striker.
