How do you decide how much to put in the envelopes? Some are very specific - $8, $52, etc.? I'm new to this but find it really interesting! TIA!
I split most of my bills in half, that’s why those are more specific. For example, each month our internet bill is $107 so I stuff $54 and then $53. For sinking funds, I just stuff what I can unless I have a goal for it. For example, if I’m going on vacation in the summer, I’ll be sure to know how much money I’ll need in total, and divide that by the number of paychecks I have before the vacation starts so I know how much to stuff from each paycheck. Other expenses like hair or pet care, I have a rough estimate about how much I usually spend so I always try to keep the amount of cash at that number or higher. I hope that makes sense ☺️

Just a question. Was any of your money spent. Because your budget with me was more than what you stuffed
My budget with me is more because in that video, I budget gas and that doesn’t get taken out in cash, I leave it in my checking account. When I budget my boyfriends paycheck, I budget for gas and his phone but those both stay in his checking as well and don’t get taken out in cash. Hope that makes sense

Those 3 books you have, not the mini one, why do you have 2 books that are basically both high maintenance
I like to split up my envelopes based on how often I use them, that’s why I have 2 binders. I use pet care, household, date night, etc more often than I use car maintenance, Christmas, and medical.

@@Kristinaa999 you’re welcome! it’s just personal preference! Some people like to have a lot of envelopes so then you have to figure out how to categorize them. If you’re just getting started, you definitely don’t need that many binders or envelopes, it can get overwhelming. Start with the basic ones you need and then you can always add more. That’s what I did
