That seems possible, I just heard it from my sensei that he was showing the ukemi skills of his students to other newer students to give them an idea of what to strive for.

There is only one point in where the uke's would actually take falls, and that is when he does the "no touch" throw. This is when it looks like he just sticks his arm out and the uke's fall under it like they got clothes lined. This is not an actual throw, But rather a test of the uke's ukemi training.

It's just cinema, in Founder's Aikido ( traditional Aikido ), there's no force or opposition. Punching is just for absorption ( Ki no nagare ) and induce adverseries to be unbalenced.
And there is no kick because it's a way to be unbalanced.

BluePittbull666 - yes, called Atemi... they are interuptive or a way breaking an attackers rhythm or a finishing move. All Aikido is largely Countering... and an Atemi can break posture or put someone off balance then that work... there is no Initiating strikes (except for Uke to start the attack technique). Note: Steven Seagal Has studies many arts and in a fight you will use whatever is necessary to end the violence.

i would only try to learn this martial art after years of learning combative arts first. im not saying i would never give it a chance, but my learning of martial art primarily is for self-defense. and also defending someone else. i dont do this shit to have fun. yeah i have fun kickboxing, but its for a reason i crossed the pain barrier of kickboxing and became harder. either way, to all you guys who say ki is not real, just remember, this culture has been around more than twice ours. remember that

Hello Clementino, what most of people don't know or don't try to know is that O sensei was not showing real aikido in front of cameras, he was an old school master, and was always afraid that people who are not training under him copy what he was doing, if you want to see how tuff this art is you can visit an Iwama ryu dojo near you (if there is of course), it's the traditional aikido style not the modern one (aikikai style), or you can have a look over the 1935 demonstration video on youtube.
