Advent II

Advent continued on beautifully this morning as we focused on one of the most traditional Advent scriptures, the one where John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus (Luke 3:1-6). Advent, coming from the Latin word, Adventus, means arrival. The entire season is devoted to preparing our hearts, minds, souls, and homes for the giant and at the same time, tiny gift into our world.
In preparation, Sandy Woolley and Julie Fisher lit the candle of peace from our Advent wreath as our choir sang a gorgeous Advent medley entitled, "Light of Peace." We also sang our classic Advent hymns to help orient our hearts and souls for this season.
