This is one of my favorite Clash songs, to find out Brian from Gaslight covered it is amazing. The Gaslight Anthem was one of the last bands to actually give me the chills when listening to their music.
@shitcanhappen Brian changes the chord progressions when he does covers, he did the same thing on Songs for Teenagers by Fake Problems. He's doing the progression from the chorus of Meet me by the River's Edge, which is R, 6, 4, R/5, which in this key is Cmaj, Aminor, F (he puts in the sus2), Cmaj (it's cool if you flick on the sus4 just before you change chords), and G. It's a blast to play, have fun with it!
@AbandonedAllHope Vintage Gibson L50, more than likely from the 1940s. I think 1943 but I'm not totally sure, they sell for about 1,500 now. Very hard to find one in good condition.
C major, A minor, F major but instead of barring it he just holds the B string on the first fret which is technically called an Fmaj7/C or just Fmaj7 and then C again, then G major. Repeated throughout. Hope this helps.

Brian Fallon is the best thing about youtube.
Ha. "I wasn't born, so much as I fell out." You make working hard as worth: "the only Band that matters". I like that.
Joe Strummer wrote a beautiful song and now two different singers have made it into a classic that I love. Love Mick Jones and Brian Fallon.
Mr. Strummer would love that guy and that band so much, too bad he isn't with us anymore.
yes he would and so sadly missed
I came to youtube in order to find a live version from The Clash, but got all lost in this version. Great cover!

this song (the clash version) has been on my playlist for the past week. Perfect timing and brilliant.
im so glad i stumbled upon this today
this is actually cover of the Afghan Whig's version of "Lost in the Supermarket" - they incorporated "Train in Vain" in theirs as well
I'm so glad I found this! I love it! I think he does The Clash justice as well.

Beautiful guitar man
my day was just made!
Wow, great cover of an epic song.
Thank God for Brian Fallon!
my fav. clash song covered by my favorite band haha awesome
@dullizgod yeah, if you follow the gaslight anthem, all Fallon talks about is Joe Strummer. They even have a song about him.
C major, A minor, F major but instead of barring it he just holds the B string on the first fret which is technically called an Fmaj7/C or just Fmaj7 and then C again, then G major. Repeated throughout. Hope this helps.
This was amazing and im pretty sure the ending part was Trian in Vain by the clash
Yes, it’s like he’s doing the Afghan Whigs version on the tribute to the clash
Thank you music
Am, F, G, C are the chords. But its tuned down 2 steps i believe
@mresplendent technically joe wrote the song and gave it as a "gift" to mick, but yes mick should be proud too:D
Brian Fallon Joe strummer and mike ness my musical dream world...
Just love and leave it at that
My two favorite bands!
That's a sweet guitar!
Very simple. 2 steps down. Key of C: C, A, F, C, G repeating.
2 great bands
awesome !
I like how he did his hair kinda like Joe Strummer for this one too. --ooh! a bit of "Train in Vain!"
@greatwhiteshara which song? Stand By Me is the outro if thats what you're asking
Très bonne reprise,
@theundone1 You mean Mick Jones.
Fuckin' A.
Brillant.
Thanks.
You're 'all lost' in the chords too Mate, they change in the verse don't you know? ...
I just found out that the original wasn't eve song by Joe Strummer...Mick Jones sang it its time to re-evaluate my life lol
can anyone tell me what guitar he is playing ?
Thanks!
does anyone know the guitar chords???
What guitar is that?
@brownsound182 Looks like he's playing C, Am, F, C, G
His version borrows heavily from Afghan Whigs cover on Clash Tribute
🎉
does anyone what this guitar is?
@dullizgod oh yeah, that most likely is the case, I guess I just misunderstood haha
Mick Jones IS proud. (maybe)
anyone know the chords to this song?

Levon Helm?
Great voice!! Bruce Springsteen feels
He needs to cover Train in Vain
Brian has good hair in this ....
no esta mal pero me quedo con mis idolos the clash
@greatwhiteshara I'da Called You Woody Joe
Its like there a little Train in vain at the end
is it a Furch
this sounds a bit like american slang. the guitar, I mean.
@dullizgod okay, but brain fallon isn't a fan of the clash because of the whigs.
@itabuttrose i woulda call you woody joe
and Bruce Springsteen :D
shame he gets the lyrics wrong
Not sure could be a Furch hard to see
terrible
