You need those turbines 25' above the ground to get away from ground friction to get in the faster moving air. I like it, looks good quality but I would make my own tall mast for it using PVC pipe and rope. Thanks and happy New Year.

I painted a line at the top of the pivot point and NESW compass points at the bottom of it, then I always orient my tripod N so I have a wind direction indicator.

This set up looks cool man! I Use devices the take batteries but, I use rechargeable batteries. that way I can swap them out while the others charge and you don't have to wait for the device to charge if I need them, you can just swap out other rechargeable batteries while the other one's charge up. Plus a battery pack of course almost the same idea you got, I want a little wind charger like you have there that's cool
Most camping accessories I use are rechargeable, either by solar or plug-in. Lanterns & flashlights, my battery-powered camp shower, fans, AAA/AA battery recharging station and walkie-talkies, recharged mostly by way of my TOGO 1500w. I still use old Coleman campstove and kerosene lanterns, etc, but if you can make the experience more easy, quick and convenient wherever possible, why not?
For those who prefer regular batteries, like AA or AAA, over rechargeables, there's always the happy medium of rechargeable batteries. That's what we use in our walkie talkies. There are even rechargeable batteries that have USB plugs built in, so you don't need to carry a separate recharger unit.
It's a great idea, but I don't know how much input power that wind turbine brings in... I'm setting up a Hydro System for full power, {with solar back up} and I need a lot of power... I could imagine clamping it to your Jeep and running it while you drive! I know someone who does this for his E-Bike & never loses power!

He found your "Outdoor Journal from 8 years ago and says they are the best he has ever seen. Now where can we find the clothes you were wearing and showing? He wants some and I am no seamstress.

All you need is a WIND turbine, connect to a MARINE deep cycle battery, connect that to a inverter, then connect a FAN to the INVERTER , then plug up the fan to the inverter . CUT ON the HIGH POWER FAN and point it at the WIND TURBINE..... You will have continuous energy and you don't have to worry about weather. You can put this inside of a container and let the fan do the work. No need for real wind

Great video, but at the risk of being a pain in the butt pedant...I absolutely detest the grossly inaccurate and misleading "touchy feely, feel good" term "renewable energy"...what a crock...any first-year physics student will tell you, physics 101, "Energy is neither created nor destroyed, it is transformed from one form to another." Solar energy will probably see out humanity, certainly on this planet, but it is not inexhaustible, and not "renewable". Not aimed at you Dave, just needed a rant in general at the misleading term in persistent widespread use. i feel much better now.... cheers, and keep up the good work.
