    Very important historical account of the pre-war and mid war days of Birkenhead & the WIrral. Thank you for doing this. I was born in 1960 so it is interesting to see what my mum and dad witnessed in person.

    Thank you for a rare and fascinating account.
    I was evacuated from London to Parkgate in 1944 which I remember well. I still visit the area on a regular basis, although few locals can remember the mischievous London kids!

    Great to see footage of Rivacre baths. I used to go there in the 1960s - they were crowded, shabby and cold.

    my nan would have been a kid in wallasey during these times, her and her brother may very well be 1 of the little squirts running around during the gas mask bit! thanks for sharing!
