Scott Schuman has a few books about people on the streets wearing interesting attire, clothing. He gets their permission. The Satorialist is one of his books and there are others. Very interesting.
Good point. That is why I made the other "Universal" (for all cameras) video, where the recipe is simple: just increase the shutter speed (with all else constant, the background will go darker, the flash will light up only what's close to it): ua-cam.com/video/nyXlP1uX6IA/v-deo.html
An excellent, and I dare say, best explanation out there of Nikon's "e3: Exposure Comp. for Flash" setting
Thank you!
Very good point on exposure compensation.

Good that he asks permission and that he has a specific topic.
✌
Be sure to remind everyone that exposure compensation doesn't work in M mode unless auto ISO is enabled.

Why not use reflectors? You need to document the place and year if you take pictures for use in an museum
The goal is to make the background darker. Reflectors don't do that.
