  • Cynthia Blakenkship, AKA the ‪@TheAudioBelle‬ reviews the sonically impressive and wallet-friendly Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers from SVS. Tune in to learn more about these ultra-competitive speakers.
    About Cynthia Blankenship:
Cynthia converted to audiophilism 5 years ago when she first heard a pair of Magnepan 3.3Rs playing Die Moldau from Smetana's Ma Vlast. The ensuing journey would have her be a recurring guest on the Audiophiliac's channel, a Magnepan 1.7i ad in The Absolute Sound magazine, and shadowing Alan Sircom of hi-fi+. With what began as a hobby with a focus on human interest stories, 5 years later she will now be delving into the world of audio gear reviews for The Absolute Sound, HiFi+, and her own channel @TheAudioBelle
    What Is The Absolute Sound?

Good to mention your discovery about blocking the bass ports with the foam plugs. 👍

I had similar experience with SVS prime tower. Would occasionally hear things behind me, for 2 c channel listening, they were bright and fatiguing, with the bass lacking, but cable of going deep. Amazing imaging, and would just disappear. Great for movies, and great in many ways for music, but would often turn up too loud to get bass, and then my ears were damaged, ringing from the mods and highs. People would say, your amp is not big enough. So upgraded to Rotel 200 Watt amp, no difference. Switched to Polk R700, which were better in many ways, but cannot disappear, and took a single ended tube amp to get the same level of imaging. But still can’t get audio to come from behind me like with SVS.
Cleanest, tightest bass comes from acoustic suspension, sealed enclosures. Speaker companies have gotten away from this…too many bass reflex designs now.
Love your music list. AWOL nation, sail…glad I am not the only one.

SVS is a great company. They helped me through an issue that they frankly didn't need to and had my interests in mind as much as their own. That support experience is one I won't forget. My theater will always have SVS subs in it and these towers are tempting.

My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.

“For home theatre I definitely prefer unported” - does that mean you prefer the foam plug IN the port or OUT of the port for home theatre? Sorry, this was a bit confusing. Hoping the bass is considerably faster with the foam plug IN the port, I’m also very picky when it comes to bass. Thanks for the review :) greetings from Australia

Cynthis, would you trade your Magepans for the SVS Titans?

If they had a soft dome tweeter, these would be totally worth it

I have the Pinnacle on my short list. I'm thinking this Titan review will track with the Pinnacle as well. By the way, what size is your room? And I'm from Nashville; I get your comments about classic country and agree.

Very nice review… these are terrific value but may not compete with High end like Dynaudio or Magico…

Dynaudio don't measure all that well, nor are they or magico's everyone's ideal.

Arendal has a 10-year warranty and you get their top-of-the-line speakers, with 8-inch drivers, better build quality and metal grills for less than the Titans. Please review Arendal speakers when you get a chance.

i love svs but 4 g's for a pair is not budget friendly imo. thats why i am glad i went vintage and picked up a pair of Energy APS5+2 for 1k that i think can hang with anything modern many times that price.

Aluminum domes are usually pretty harsh, doesn't sound like the diamond coating on these is doing the trick

Wow Absolute sound standards have gone down.......... that listening room is horrible. More reflection than a house of mirrors. Anything she says can't be taken serious. Especially if she judges audio equipment in that "listening room"😂 sorry buy a rug at least. What a joke. Lol

She doesn't know what she's talking about. the hesitations, stops, starts and restarts, plus her glances at the teleprompter, and her constant rising intonation, indicates she is totally at sea with the content, and context. But I thought that was supercool... like, whatever?
