How to turn a Satellite

- Turning an object in space can be a bit tricky because there's nothing for it to push against. Thankfully the laws of physics do have a useful caveat that makes aiming a satellite possible without using up all of your fuel in the process.

As a fellow kerbal fan, I never knew how they truly worked in real life. This is exactly the type of informative video I was searching for, so thank you!
clear demonstration! easy to understand.your demo is really delicate and reveal the theory of how to controll a satilite.Really useful!
Magnetorquer for your next project & vid? You could use it to desaturate the reaction wheel, perhaps... Loved the little Easter egg at the end!
Haha, I was waiting for someone to ask for that! I'm actually thinking that a pair of control moment gyros might be an interesting project.
Brilliant video! Best demonstration of reaction wheels I’ve seen yet.
Man, I though you have 1 million subs already. You deserve at least 1 million subs
Thanks, that’s nice of you to say. Tell your friends I guess 😆
Loved the demos. Hope to see a lot more. Subscribed.
Beautiful explanation and demo!
Very interesting. I had no idea how this worked. Thank you
Excellent video again!
Awesome explanation. Thank you!
Very well explained. Thanks
Great explanation
I loved it! Thanks
Great video. TY for all your effort. You may find the ESP32 a better option than Arduino.
If i am trying to balance in say the x or the y axis would the motor also rotate in the same direction and change speed only, say for example if i want to to maintain 45 deg around the x axis and also should the other 2 motors be running ?
Can you please share the Arduino code?
Is there a tutorial available about how to build this project
can you add materials used to assemble this
What motor are you using?
hi, can i get what motor you use?
Reaction Wheels!
I wish there was a mlre complex way to despin them
What do you mean? When they are saturated?
@@sssfsfdfsdsdffsfsdf4 yes
Cool gadget
Can you please share your code for this project?
Hey, Im trying to replicate this for a home project, but I cant quite get the reaction wheel code to work. Would you be able to link the code you used in a github or something like that?
GREAT VIDEO BTW!!
how are you measuring the angular velocity of the reaction wheel?
That’s an easy one to answer: I’m not. What I’m doing is controlling the rotation speed of the brushless motor using the speed controller. The controller cycles the coils in the motor at a certain, controlled, rate and that’s the speed of the wheel.
