First and foremost, Connors TedTalk gives people from every avenue the ability to relate to each other no matter what their background is. Being able to understand and appreciate the beauty of giving is something special. From someone who knows Connor first hand understands what it takes to generate positive energy in the harshest of times. That being said here's a quote that's been an inspiration to Connor and I, " It's not how hard you hit, it's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward" Rocky Balboa.
Very good! Everyone should stop a moment and listening this. And all about social media.
Great point. But it is about social problems/networking and not social media.
The fact of all this is that people are more focused on social issues due to the current direction of the internet and not a tool for factual information sharing to better our understanding and involvement in the real world. It's becoming a burden and not an asset.
Kudos! I found your talk spot on! I was looking for another TED talk about the physiological reactions in the body triggered by likes, comments, and other feedback we receive through interactions on the internet. I believe that there are lots of obvious negative outcomes. Otherizing others, quarreling, condescending attitudes, tempers flaring. But, on the flip side of that, people can also inform themselves like never before. Positive interactions save people from suicide. We can use this tool better in so many ways, if only we set our intentions to that.
Sonja s you’re absolutely right. Thank you so much for your feedback
Most of it is not about the brain at all. I feel like the talk isn't as congruent with the title of the talk as could be. A better title would be, "How to give more back to the world (or charity) through social media."
I agree - or “The Secret to living is Giving.” When we choose the title for the talk it was months before the actual event and the speech evolved big time.
Good job, brother!! Your heart is always in the right place. Greetings from Sudbury.
BenNuttinYahoosreel much love to you my friend! I appreciate you.
This was a weird wordwaffle of an inspirational speech. Also Mother Theresa having an access to a phone is terrifying considering she was an abusive person who caused death and rejoiced in suffering of her patients because it was Christlike to suffer. I suggest doing research and having a consistent message when giving a speech, this just sounds like a parody of a white collar worker doing a presentation.
I was confused by this talk. I would recommend not contradicting your point; if you're pro social media, don't talk about how it increases narcissism and depression rates. Stay on message. Also the speaker should have shared the source where he got that fact from. No real sources were cited other than the quotes, and not many stats were shared in general to back up his perspective. What's the connection between the speaker and the topic? How did the speaker use social media to give back? No real examples were used. I think a canned food drive was mentioned? Was that done through social media? Also, Is he associated with Kiva? As a speaker its important to tell your story, but tell your story in a way that connects it to the topic.
I would love for you to comment what you think and give your insightfuo comments on my video :) 🖤
"Our obligation is to help people."
Very.well.said.
💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
The guy just came up with some random unrelated messages and put them together into this patchwork TedTalk. Well done Ted, you hire anyone nowadays.
Basically, he is a CEO of a marketing company. What could we expect? After I noticed that on the background, stopped watching it. Somebody has to be objective on the topic to explain it scientifically.
@@selinsaki6217 the talk is meant to showcase the power of social media to create change by giving… I’m the CEO of a marketing company that helps people and businesses have massive impact across the world. This isn’t meant as a scientific analysis, rather a thought provoking talk about how social media effects us.
Great talk but the title is misleading.
I wanted to call the talk “the secret to living is giving.” The talk really evolved in the process but it was to late to change
this ted talk made no sense, make up your mind if you’re for or against social media
Why does he sound like Obama
There is. It's called the Bible.
firstly, good job of speaking but the actual talk should only be about 2 minutes and even then the listener would not learn anything novel or gain any insight or knowledge. ted talks used to be innovative but this is not
mike manner thank you, but what’s more innovative than using your cell phone to change the world 🔥we all have one! Let’s start using it for good rather than let it consume us. I appreciate your feedback!
Warning: This video is clickbait to sell a service. It is insidious and exactly what people who don't want to be on social media are opposed to being exposed to.
Listen to the message! Clearly, you’re doing exactly what it says not to… Bantering, rather than using your cell phone and social media to help people!
This talk has nothing to do with the brain on social media or what is expected from the title but in some way inspires the way that it could be used rather than have it use us; something to gain rather than nothing
More like bragging about himself
