Yo. When I was a teenager I would see Bernard catch the subway all the way to the top of Broad & Olney get off the train and start running down broad street all the way down to the Navy yard in south Philly. My man was running it and not jogging it pretty much every day or every other day.
I saw him all the time running south on broad.
Fast forward 30 years he then became my neighbor in center city. In respecting his privacy I can say he lives a pretty sweet life overlooking the city.
He will Always be Philly’s Champ☝🏽

Yep..remember reading about his regimented life style when he beat Trinidad aged 36. He always went to bed at 8pm..up early doing road work and then to the gym for a few hours! No alcohol, over indulgence in anything that wasn’t good for his body!
Compare that to some like Ricky Hatton..and Jnr Welterweight for most of his career who drank excessively and would ballon to as much as 190-200 pounds between fights..and he was 5”6!!!
